Definitely great value for money as it’s in the arguably most beautiful place in the whole of Northern Italy. Breakfast was also a nice bonus. Everything was clean and tidy. The terrace had an amazing view but, admittedly, in Varenna the view is amazing everywhere you go.

I thought the doors being made partially of glass was a bit dangerous as several times due to draft wind I was afraid they would break. You could hear everything but that’s expected as it’s an old house. The biggest minus was the unpleasant cooking smell at the terrace during late afternoon and early morning. As I understood there is a restaurant on the left side of the hotel and due to all the active cooking going on there, there was constant smell coming from the chimney so it wasn’t really comfortable to spend time there during the time period mentioned. So if you’re choosing this accommodation only due to terrace, be aware that you may face this issue.

It’s a great location and have a nice balcony to view the lake Como sunset 🌅

The rooms need a bit of update

We were given 3 breakfast options at restaurants, all about a 30 second walk. Nice!

The beds were very firm, which I'm sure many people like. An option for foam mattress topper might be nice. Were not complaining - just offering a thought!

Floors weren’t very clean, needed washing although they were vacuumed. The bedspread was dirty and used for other guests without washing in between. The towels were thin and old. Didn’t like the shared bathroom.
