I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay unless 24hour security is standard procedure.
Ali, the young receptionist, couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful when we arrived and he tried to sort out the awful issue that arose later in evening.
At about 6:00pm, the people in the next door bedroom started shouting, banging their door several times so the hotel actually shook. My husband noticed blood on the door. The woman had a Stafford terrier, which at that point was thankfully on a lead. We asked Ali if we could change rooms, which again he was happy to do. The police were called and we thought that would be the end of it but no. Ali’s hours ended at 9:00pm so no overnight security. The woman with the dog reappeared and stated shouting in the corridor at 4:00am and the dog was on the loose. She stayed the rest of the night with the dog in the reception and dining area. We were nervous leaving our room at 6:30am because she was still there but thankfully she had the dog on a lead. We were very anxious about our car with English number plates, so we asked Ali NOT to tell them we had complained in case they were to damage our car in revenge. Luckily they did not. We hardly slept at all due to worry and the noise. I believe Ibis Budget Hotels should have a 24 hour receptionist on duty so situations like this could be dealt with and resolved appropriately! Although in comparison, this point is minor, the bed had a lingering smell of smoke. Although there was a smoke alarm, people can smoke out of the windows. We will NEVER revisit this Ibis Budget hotel again and would NEVER recommend it to anyone!

Terrible sleep - not value for money for the cheap cost
It was easy to find, with free secured parking and located in an industrial estate, there was little overnight noise (to be fair, we stayed on a Sunday night).
Where to start? On arrival, the check-in instructions were non-existent, despite having stated we'd arrive at around 11pm and the website stating that reception would be open until 11.30pm. Luckily we had used similar hotels before so knew the drill but were nevertheless stuck outside the closed gate for a while. The room looked like it had been painted not so long ago but it reeked of cigarette smoke. We'd booked one room for three adults but the bunk bed (above the double bed) was not made on arrival. But the main complaint was that we were woken up twice by the fire alarm and had to vacate the room to stand in a freezing car park once after midnight and again at 3.20am. On both occasions, there was no communication from staff, who took quite some time to turn it off. I appreciate this was not the staff or hotel's fault necessarily but combined with a hot room (we had to leave the window open despite the note explicitly asking us not to) and cheap mattress/pillows, we did not get any sleep. We did not shower either as the bathroom was not all that welcoming (clean but mouldy around very old features) - and no hair dryer (not even those poor quality ones stuck to the wall!). All in all, for a bit extra, we're likely to book with another nearby hotel (B&B Hotels) next time.

Fits the budget for 1 night (not recommended for a diabetic person or a gluten free one)
Good value for money, close to restaurants, in walking distance, friendly staff english speakers.
The window cover was broken and the lights from outside were a bit bright. I have received a double size room for 3 people with a bunker bed on top of the double bed, I haven't asked for that, just wanted a bigger room for 1 person not 3! No dietary food for a diabetic person-the breakfast was around 10 pounds, had to manage to eat some yoghurt and cheese, no other gluten free options available either.

Best value for money; ideal for a long journey stop-off arriving at any hour.
Thoroughly satisfied with all the facilities. We arrived late after reception had closed but easily worked out how to get through the electric security gate and check-in machine; the process was made easy which we appreciated after a long drive from the Ferry Terminal. The shower pressure was exceptional and the bunk-bed matress/base was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet for €9 was a nice surprise; we went down at 10:30 and a kind gentlemen allowed us to have a late breakfast despite being about to close.
The lighting was too dim in the room, the shower hose did not fit in the bracket and we couldn’t work out how to close the blind. We managed despite these set-backs and it’s important to say none of these would prevent me booking a return stay.. I wouldn’t advise anyone over-60 trying to get up the ladder to the bunk bed but I feel this is an unlikely scenario!

It was a good launch-off point for me as I was visiting the War Memorials in the area.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Because I am gluten-free they made sure that I had GF cereals and freshly baked GF buns for breakfast.

Perfect for a basic and clean hotel just on the outskirts of Caen
This is a basic hotel with all the necessary comforts. It had clean and fresh bedding and towels. The double room is an adequate size for 2 and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and had a very powerful shower. The man on reception was extremely helpful. The hotel is walking distance to a chain restaurant and shops, and also a petrol station. If you want to go into Caen, you will probably need to drive.
There is no lift to the upper floors, but the lovely young man on Reception kindly offered to carry my case up.

    Very good
Good place to stay after arriving via the ferry. We were late getting to the hotel due to delay in the port. We had trouble with the automatic machine for gaining access to the hotel. Luckily a very helpful young man came to our assistance. We didn't have the breakfast, however, it looked good and reasonably priced
