Great place for a one-night (or many nights) stay. Fab breakfast.

We have stayed here before. We liked the free car park. The location is on the outskirts of Caen and easy to drive to, although the sat-nav was required to navigate right to the hotel car park. The breakfast was absolutely superb. The chef knows how to make perfect scrambled eggs, so we will definitely be staying there next time!

The room still had an odour of carpet glue which was overpowering last year when we stayed there (and we were moved to a different part of the hotel). This time, after we opened the window, it was not too bad. The restaurant was closed (we had not checked beforehand). However, we discovered 'Boucherie' near-by and we had a superb meal there.

Excellent night stop to break our journey home. Bar and restaurant open on Sunday which was a big bonus.

Nice stay

Reception area and lounge bar alright. Together with restaurant. Shower ok, bathing products provided. Complimentary coffee in the room too. Free parking facilities with charging stations for e-vehicles (add on).

Rooms are very small. Bedding not so great, pillows very hard and can lead to neck and ears pain. Not soundproof, you hear what your neighbours are talking about, even at normal voice level. For light sleepers, you hear cars if the room is on “road” side.

Just a stopover before the ferry but comfortable and near the Memorial which we wanted to see. Towels were lovely! It was clean and relatively quiet.

Staff seems to be overwhelmed by the amount of guests. Took a while to be checked in and then served at dinner.

A great hotel, perfect for a stop before taking the early morning ferry.

This was the perfect place for our overnight stop before catching the ferry. Bonus was an afternoon by the outdoor pool I didn’t realise was there! The room was spacious and clean, good shower and comfy bed. The Nespresso coffee machine was appreciated. Staff were lovely - especially those on the bar/restaurant in the evening. We ate dinner at the restaurant and food was excellent. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the memorial museum and a short drive into the city centre. It’s an easy 20 min drive to the ferry port. We would recommend staying here.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. The hotel was very convenient for the Caen Memorial Museum and public transport. Also used the fitness room which was well equipped.

Good value for money. Adequate parking space and is free of charge. Room looks pretty new. Only short drive to major sight seeing points in Normandy.

Great location

Great location for exploring the area and only 20 minutes from Caen ferry port. Plenty of parking available. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. An added bonus is the ability to open the window to let fresh air in the room. Food and service in the restaurant in the evenings were both great. A large coach party arrived when we were there but the staff were great & it didn’t affect service to smaller tables in the restaurant at all. Special mention must go to Angelique who is a credit to the hotel.

Only disappointment was I accidentally booked breakfast for the final morning we were there without realising we were leaving before service started. I was unable to have this refunded despite a sizeable restaurant bill on leaving. I was offered ‘takeaway’ service but on the day this was on a help yourself basis, rather than picnic style, which we were unable to do without anything to put it in.

Lovely greeting, all staff seemed friendly. Thank you so much for a quick turn around. It was certainly appreciated.

When we arrived we have previously e-mailed stating we would need day beds, but this e-mail was not sent on, and neither was our confirmation number, we had to give the amount paid which we did not have as this was paid for by our company.

My electrics were playing up on my brand new motorbike, it was raining bad. In distress i pulled over to find a hotel with inside parking. I drove about a hundred km to this hotel which said it had inside parking to be told it hadn't, both booking.com and the hotel refused to give me my money back?

Lots of improvement required in organisation but good staff

The guy on reception was exceptionally good. He was a one man band - sorted out the booking when hotel lost it, carried suitcases upstairs when we could not manage, provided soap in the bathroom when there was none available and served us drinks. His English was also exceptional. you do not pay him enough!!

I did not like anything about this hotel

We arrived at the hotel as a family of 4 for two nights but we had to stay in two rooms which was fine but the hotel had not giving us rooms side by side or with a connecting door as we are on a family holiday we did not want to be separated like we were. My daughters are twins and very close they did not want to be separated but I had no choice as I could not have them sleep in the room on their own as they are only 12 years old. The man who checked us in. He did everything we could to get us a room side by side or with a connecting door. But unfortunately he didn’t succeed. We went to one of the rooms 219 and there was a terrible smell from it ( it was like it was coming from the carpet) and also my daughter had a shower and the water was freezing cold. The mattress were terrible and we could hardly sleep in them. It was late when we checked in, That’s why I had to stay that night. I booked another hotel for the following night I informed the receptionist that night that we will be checking out in the morning and that we would like a refund for our 2nd night booked. The receptionist said that’s fine and I will make a note of it and leave a message for the manager Jocelyn he was in work the following morning. In the mean time I have booked another room via booking.com for the following evening and also rang booking.com who I booked this hotel with to inform them of the situation and that I will be checking out the following morning. They said they have to wait for authorisation from the manager for a refund. I went down to reception the following morning to check out and I met Jocelyn (Chef de Reception ) I asked him for a refund For the second night as we were not staying and not happy here with the situation we were in with the hotel. His response was, HE LAUGHED AT ME. He was so unprofessional and said there was no way I was getting a refund. I will be following up on this with his manager. It was very upsetting staying here and caused unnecessary hassle.

An excellent hotel for visiting the Normandy sites.

We were a group of 10 in 5 Classic cars. Good parking was essential. We also made good use of the bar and the pool. The restaurant was good but possibly not enough choice for 4 nights, but we found other options within a short walk. The bedrooms were quite basic but had everything we needed. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

One of our members was celiac but there were no gluten free options on the menu. However he did manage to sort something with the chef.

Restaurant: i liked dinner, close to museum, the pool, parking, staff. Experience depends on the room. First one - bad smell from cleaning, broken window, so so toilet, next room we has been moved to on the second floor: just perfect exceeding expectatons although the layout is exactly the same
