A wonderful stay - but will likely be back in the warmer months.

Customer service was excellent. We experienced some issues with the temperature in the room (during winter) which was complicated by us being unwell at the time. Staff went the extra mile to help us and ensure we were comfortable.

Breakfast was good, but the focaccia was cut into small pieces and as a result could dry out a bit too much, meaning it would be rather brittle. The hotel once had large pieces of the focaccia and allowed guests to cut slices as required. Perhaps should go back to doing this rather than cutting it into small square pieces.

Excellent hotel, location and service, tricky payment system and ungracious reception staff

Everything has been amazing except of its charging system.

The room fee of €190 has been 100% prepaid. During our stay the additional amount of €227 has be blocked on my credit card. The host explained, that the hotel system does not “know”, that the fee has been prepaid via Booking and automatically blocks the amount of room fee plus some possible extra charges. These amount will be released within the latest couple of days. Now already 5 days gone after our stay and €227 are still blocked on my card. The bank explained to my request that these funds still have not been released by the merchant (the Savoia Hotel). That means that effectively to the moment I have paid for the room €417 instead of €190 as it shall be. It is absolutely unacceptable!!! Besides the reception staff was very displeased answering my reasonable questions regarding the above situation.

Hotel next to the Central Station

Breakfast was delicious and the room size was fine. However, we couldn’t open any of the windows, and no one came to fix the issue despite notifying the staff. Additionally, we had two rooms on the same floor, and one of them had no Wi-Fi. We informed the front desk, but the problem was not resolved.

We took two premium rooms… both had black fungus on the ceilings… definitely something one should not expect considering the price one pays. Parking is also a bit problematic After making a complaint to a member of staff, rooms were replaced. just the way you would expect from such hotel. yet…

An oasis of calm in a busy port city

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Savoia halfway through our monthlong trip through France and Italy. We only wish we could have stayed longer! We were so comfortable and slept so well at the Savoia. It is updated yet retains its grand hotel elegance. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The food in the Trattoria Tralalêro was delicious. The breakfast buffet (included) was superb with so many food choices and held in a gorgeous dining room. The hotel’s location near the Genova Principe Train Station is super convenient. We would definitely stay at the Grand Hotel Savoia again.

There is nothing that we did not like about the hotel. We would stay again in the future.

Nice hotel and stay, not above and beyond

The room was lovely and clean, and the hotel itself is charming. It s very close to the train station which is great with baggaes but a fair walk to the central part. Loved the rooftop hot tub and bar, the service was very good there.

I didn't feel that this was 5-star exactly; the desk staff were helpful, but the service wasn't the best. The rooms were nice, but I don't think it was total value for the money charged. Although conveniently located by the train station, it is a fair walk to the central part and highly recommended restaurants/bars

A touch of grandeur in Genoa

We chose this hotel for its style and facilities; we wanted some rest and relaxation so the room and spa were very appealing and did not disappoint. It is very conveniently located near the bus and train stations; great for the airport shuttle (only 20 minutes) and the sightseeing bus. Friendly staff from arrival; clean and very well presented room; great continental buffet breakfast and terrace restaurant located on the top floor with city views. Perfect for couples; we will be returning.

Definitely a place to stay if you are in Genoa

It is located in the centre of town adjacent to the railway station, the old port and some tourist attractions. The view of the city from the breakfast room at the last floor is breathtaking

The interior has a somewhat forlorn look, the corridors are not well illuminated, the elevator was trembling and there is no bellboy at the entrance to greet you and help you with the luggage.

What a fantastic place to stay - loved it

Everything about this hotel is a delight - our room was gorgeous, spacious with fantastic decor and furnishings - and the bath was complete bliss, with some of the best products we have experienced in any hotel, and the loveliest, most sumptuous dressing gowns and slippers. Wish we could have stayed longer - the location, friendly and helpful staff, the spa, the breakfast.....all top-notch - and excellent value

We will definitely stay again

Very nice and comfortable room which we found extremely quiet. Incredibly convenient having valet service for parking the car. All the staff were friendly, professional and really helpful. We enjoyed our one night here and will be back when we next stay in Genoa.

The phone and air conditioning didn't work and there was nothing left in the room (bowl, toy and treats) for our dog which we were told there would be, Everything was resolved satisfactorily but in a hotel of this level we were surprised ghat general checks hadn't picked up the air conditioning/phone issues.
