We weren’t aware there was an active church bell over our bed. One thin pillow per person. One thin single towel and no shower mat or extra towel for very slippery floor.

Close to the centre. Great host - helped us a lot when we arrived late. Showed us a good restaurant. It is a part of the church building so we were woken up by the bells - 🔔 funny experience

Roof window in our room was not tight so during strong winds - it was cold in the room. The fact that smoking was allowed in the building. I was woken up by the awful smell of cigarettes - how come that smokers’ rights come first. And the fact that the guests did not respect the night hours - someone was drying the hair at 12am - I could not sleep.

I only stayed for one night. The only positive thing I can say is that it is not far from the city centre.

The host did not charge us the €6 tourist tax, but instead asked us to pay an extra €20 because we arrived after 10:30 pm, claiming that she had to come in person to hand over the keys. In reality, the keys were already there: when she arrived, she simply took them from the key lock box, from which we could also have collected them ourselves if we had been given the code to open it and access the apartment. As a result, the final cost of staying for one night was not cheap at all, and ended up being similar to, or even higher than, other accommodation options in the same area of Genoa. The impression is that the host lists a low initial price on Booking and then makes up the difference by requesting additional payments once guests arrive at the property. The host also claims that her Booking listing states that a €20 supplement applies for check-in after 10:30 pm. However, I checked the listing carefully and this information does not appear to be mentioned anywhere. In addition, the host claims that she is legally required to be physically present when guests arrive in order to check their documents. This explanation also seems questionable: I looked into it online and could not find any law requiring the host to be physically present, especially considering that the use of key lock boxes for key collection is now extremely common.
