Very clean and comfortable place. We stayed one night for a very great value. Great location, many places are super easy reachable. The room was comfortable and clean.

This was a really nice and interesting place to stay. The building is gorgeous. I think it is a multi-tenanted, and quite old type of building, with the hotel making up a smaller portion of the building as a whole. The location is great and and easy launching point for exploring different parts of the city, especially the Centro storico to the west with its maze-like alleyways and hidden restaurant gems. The hotel is close to Brignole train station and an easy walk even with luggage on cobblestone.
Our toilet had a small leak and the bathroom accumulated a somewhat foul smell. The plumbing is understandably very old (the floor is raised in some parts, as retrofitting is difficult). In our case there was a bilge pump in the area and it would go on and off all night long due to the leak. Also, the use of of toilet paper in the toilet was not permitted and bidet use was required.

Communication with Hotel Genova was excellent. My room and bathroom were very clean. I loved the location; near stores, restaurants, and walking distance to the train station. As a solo traveler, it felt like a safe area, during the day, as well as at night. The staff were excellent; and went out of their way at the reception desk, to help with restaurant recommendations, as well as with printing an airline check-in pass. The lift was always a big convenience with my heavy luggage, which they held before I could check-in. The only thing I missed was a coffee machine or tea kettle in my 3rd floor room, but they allowed me take a coffee on 2nd floor, even though I don’t eat breakfast. Loved my experience here, and I would return!

Good location - central and easy to find. Beautiful building with old lift.
A bit confusing on where the find the hotel - it’s a floor or two in an apartment building. Was unaware we needed coded access and were locked out until another hotel house gave us the number: no staff told us this. Our TV remote had no batteries - we dropped it receptions before going out and picked up on return to find it still had no batteries - the staff said they get stolen a lot. A lot of mosquitos in the room despite an October visit and was bitten a lot in the night. A scam email and WhatsApp was sent to me before checking in and I emailed the hotel about it and did not get an apology - jsut said they already knew.
