Good value on an old school hotel room for a terrific location

Amazing location downtown Grenoble; the only issue is reaching the hotel by private car (taxi is no problem) because it’s in a traffic restricted area. However you can reserve parking right nearby (through the hotel) that is pretty convenient.

Older hotel with great staff in a good location.

The location is great, really wonderful part of the city to be in. The area is safe with many options for pastries, coffee, good restaurants, and shopping. The staff was really great: kind, helpful, thoughtful, professional. They were the best part of the stay.

We had a particularly bad room on the top floor and in the back that gave no view and didn't allow us to stand up. This room should have been a storage area. But beyond that, some things were broken -- there was a frame for a mirror that wasn't there, the bidet did not work, the handle on the shower was broken. Bottom line: this hotel is dated. There is a charm to it and the staff are great, but it is in need of a retooling.

Great Location

The location is fantastic overlooking the square and access to all the local bars and restaurants.

Only issue was a leaking shower head that can be fixed with a new washer, simple.

Good location and breakfast. Good collaboration with the nearby gym, which was available for free.

This was our 3rd stay there. The rooms are clean and average size but enough room to stay comfortably. The staff is fantastic. The lady from Thailand at the front desk made the experience great. We had a small issue but the night desk man Matthew I believe fixed it immediately. Location is great and discounted parking nearby.

Wow, it was like a little Paris, the view to the Victor Hugo square is amazing. It is nice to walk around, all is close, even to the cable road it is only about 15 minute walk. The parking was about 3 minute walk, with the discount from the hotel.

The d'Angleterre offers a great get away in the perfect location.

Our room was on the fourth floor overlooking Victor Hugo Place. Our windows were large and we could open them for fresh air. The view of the Vercor was stunning. The hotel is at the heart of the city and Old Town and everything is walkable and a delight for the senses.

The hotel is in a great central location but needs modernisation.

Splendid location on Place Victor Hugo, close to the tram link to the train and bus stations. Staff were friendly and helpful. I made little use of the services and facilities so can't comment on them.

The hotel was kept very clean but the interior is now in urgent need of a re-fit: the furniture, fittings and bathroom in my room dated from the 1980s or earlier. It didn't bother me but I suspect a lot of guests would find that disappointing.

Excellent location. We had a room overlooking Victor Hugo Square with the mountains behind, which was stunning.

Be aware that the car park is a 5 minute walk away by the cable car station.
