We had a wonderful stay at Ivy Cottage! The Cranberry Room was delightful, the location just opposite Killarney National Park was very convenient, and our friendly hostess had plenty of great tips to make the most of our holiday.

Mary is a kind and friendly host and Ivy Cottage is beautiful (and spotless). Continental breakfast was fabulous.
The shared bathroom is down a set of steep & narrow steps and the road outside was very noisy

Very clean and comfortable. Mary was a lovely host.
No parking anywhere close. But not a big deal really. Work around is a parking place 10mins walk away which is between the accommodation and town.

It was stunning. So beautifully decorated and right next to the center of town.
Steep stairs, so carry a smaller suitcase.

Lovely home from home.
I didn't realise, but maybe never read the information correctly. The bathroom is downstairs. Us oldies found that a little challenging for nighttime visits. Other than that, all was lovely.

We loved the location adjacent to the National Park and the vintage 1840’s house experience. Our hostess was delightful and very dedicated to her home and making sure we were comfortable. She gets high marks for Irish hospitality and positive energy. She went above and beyond to help us explore the best of Killarney. We loved the short walking distance to downtown shopping.

Really nice cottage opposite killarney national park , Mary is a fabulous host.,
There is a short walk into killarney.
Steps are steep to your room and a shared bathroom which is downstairs . This is well noted on your booking .

Breakfast was awful. The host on day one said it was too hot to cook a breakfast and on day three said it was too much bother. She instead provided a bag breakfast to go which was inadequate.
Breakfast. On the website it shows this lovely dining room where I gather breakfast would have been served. Instead we were given a bag breakfast and told to eat it in the park. Lucky for us it didn't rain.

I have waited a week and visited more accommodations to try to be objective. Mary's home was very clean and she made an effort to be helpful. Her husband graciously moved their car to provide us parking as well.
Home is tiny and Mary was very condescending when telling us what we did and didn't pay for. If you cannot navigate steep narrow stairs, do not stay here. I emailed her twice asking for parking options and never received a response. You are not allowed to use the parlor so you must stay in your bedroom when there. Of the five places we stayed in Ireland, this was our worst experience.

Mary was a marvelous host and served a great breakfast. she also gave additional travel tips
Sharing the Bathroom with another room was not clear for us from the booking information

Beautiful old house nicely decorated with artworks. Barroque musique playing during breakfast. Spacious and clean bathroom. You can see photos at ivycottage dot eu.
We feel that the mention of "garden view" in the description was incomplete. It is true that you can see the flowers in the front garden, and the trees at the edge of the Killarney National Park. What was not clear to us is there is a street between the garden an the park. We are light sleepers so it was great to have earplugs.

A beautiful historic home located right across the road from Killarney National Park. Our host couldn’t have been more welcoming and gracious. Mary was very helpful with travel, sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was excellent.

I liked the theme of the room, cleanliness and the location of the place.
The bathroom was shared, on the ground floor and rooms were on the first floor. There was slight traffic noise coming from the window.

Ivy Cottage is the most beautiful cottage with an amazing atmosphere there. Our host Mary made sure we had everything & our comfort was paramount. She gave us loads of information about where to visit & where to eat. Our room was absolutely gorgeous with lovely treats left there for us to enjoy.
We didnt have an ensuite but we were accommodated with the sole us of the bathroom to ourselves.

Beautiful traditional style cottage. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Great breakfast.
Mary Susan is a very good host and went out of her way to contact us before we travelled and make sure we had dinner booked and bars sussed out for drinks. Couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful.

Had a fantastic stay. Mary is a wonderful host that went above & beyond for us during our stay. I had a triathlon early on Saturday & she left out a very thoughtful good luck card along with two take away breakfast packs for us.
Exceptionally clean rooms & cottage. Amazing shower that you don't want to get out of. Great location beside a park & a short walk into town. Perfect stay.

Enjoyed the continental breakfast. Really enjoyed the whisky porridge, very nice.
Good location, within walking distance to the town, the national park across the road and easy access to the Ring of Kerry.
Great friendly host with good knowledge of the area, good recommendations for places to eat and good advice on places to visit.

We loved how clean is the place, how comfortable is the bed.
The breakfast was very tasty and healthy. Mary was very kind and helpful when it comes giving tips on where to go what to do. Always have nice music in the house. We enjoyed the cute cottage style and the whole experience.
The cottage is right beside the park so there is great access to the city center, to park and everything.
1.The bathroom is not user-friendly, all marble and water go everywhere. The showerhead on seeling was or too cold /too hot so had to use hand shower which is not practical as water goes everywhere.
2.Cranberry room is facing the highway street which is extremely noisy and disturbing even during the evening, with trucks and cars passing constantly. It was crucial as we were trying to relax. So maybe double-check where the window faces or go with another room in the cottage.

The bed was amazing. I hadn't slept in a bed as good as that one in the cottage's room.
The host was lovely. She recommended me beautiful places to visit and restaurants to eat.
