Considering it is Killarney, I have no complaints because the price matches the quality!
Ending up in a room with drunk people who snored like bears the whole night :|

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review for Black Sheep Hostel, Killarney
This place truly deserves 5 stars and more.
I stayed here during a very difficult and stressful time, and the staff went above and beyond to help me. They were extremely kind, caring, understanding, and supportive. Their hospitality made me feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed when I really needed it the most.
The hostel is very clean, well-organised, peaceful, and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and positive. The location is also perfect.
Special thanks to the entire team for their humanity, patience, and genuine care. I will always be grateful for your help and kindness.
One of the best places to stay in Ireland — highly recommended.
Thank you so much 🤍

The location was great which made traveling to the local market easy and convenient.
Some of the staff were a little prejudice to Americans. I was polite and considerate; however, on several occasions I overheard the staff saying things like “Americans were rude and disrespectful, but they tip well so we tolerate them”. I know some people may meet those stereotypes but not everyone is like that and it made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. There were some very nice people though. Shane and Elsa were amazing hosts and I think they deserve a raise for their incredible hospitality. I hope in the future I hope they change their mindset and truly live up to their moto of inclusivity.

Very central, very good breakfast (homemade bread and fresh eggs if you want to cook, plus option of a cafe just beside, which is part of the hostel). Clean place, very friendly staff and above all amazing atmosphear and interiors. l loved it :)
the wifi was not working great for me. Breakfast could finish a bit later

Place was great
When I got in late my douvet and pillow had no sheets and there was a smell of vomit so it was extremely uncomfortable.

The bed was good, privacy unbroken. It was nice I had a charging point to myself, a cool spot for my phone and easy to reach switch for my private lighting.
I didn't do breakfast, though was available because I came with my lunch pack and could use the kitchen easily.
Bed, breakfast room, no sweat at all. Kudos to you guys.
God bless you all.
The name Black Sheep did not sound good the first time I saw your hostel online. I guess White Sheep may help remove the initial shock you feel hearingBlack sheep...
Yes, the Internet was breaking, I would suggest you either upgrade of offer other options.

The cosiest hostel, super friendly and comfy. Being out of the main centres it seemed to attract lovely outdoorsy people. One of the best hostel kitchens I’ve seen that always smelt amazing with fresh bread baking and 10/10 coffee.

The homeliness of this hostel is something that you dont get anymore. It was lovely to have conversation and laughs with the staff and the guests. This is the most fully equipped kitchen I have seen and every room is well cleaned. Nice garden and chickens out the back with a couple of rescue dogs are friendly touches that add to the atmosphere. Will definitely stay here again 😊

Very cosy and homey hostel, loved the free breakie in the morning. Added bonus was the cafe next door, with good coffee! Also big shoutout to Elsa for helping us out with some Cardboard for our hitchhiking adventures.

Great property right in town. The space is so well curated and has a wonderful vibe. The garden is also cool!

Enjoyed the style and vibe, petting the dogs, checking out the back garden. The room was comfortable and the location of the hostel is perfect! Staff and volunteers are helpful. The breakfast was healthy and it was great to talk to other travellers and staff/volunteers in the dining room.
Temperature fluctuations in the room and a bit of a musty smell, however, the windows could be opened and closed so it wasn’t an issue.

Almost everything, especially the attitude (environment!), the atmosphere and many details (they provide even spices in the kitchen).
Almost nothing (it's okay, that the staff is sometimes busy 😜)

Really nice hostel. Plenty of space to sit and plenty of room in the kitchen for more than one person to cook at a time. Comfy beds with individual power sockets and light. Great breakfast too! Right in town too. Lots of parking (free car park is very full during the day), even if it is the car park that’s a few minutes walk away that you have to pay for.
Bed numbers could have been on the lockers too. I felt that being on the top bunk I shouldn’t have been left with a locker right at the bottom bunk persons face. Due to the small space between bunks I felt like my face was only 30cm away from the bottom bunk person whenever I needed to access my bag.

The staff is very friendly, the garden is gorgeous, breakfast is included, the room is wheelchair accessible.
The "private room" is horrible. It. Consists of a bedroom with a large glass front oriented directly into the hostel garden/a busy pathway outside and common area, effectively turning it into a human zoo exhibition. The room offers curtains, which means you can choose between daylight and privacy, as there are no other windows.
We could not stay here for this reason and ended up booking a different accommodation within an hour of arriving here.

This property was AMAZING! The staff were so kind, the hostel was adorable and had everything you could think of needing for a homey-stay. I loved the dogs, the garden, the style of the kitchen and common spaces. The bunk beds were spacious and well designed and the living spaces were thoughtfully put together to help foster connection between travellers. The quotes and little knicknacks were so cute.
I wish a towel was included in the stay!

Great facilities, delicious homemade bread and free range eggs & cereal available for breakfast. Comfortable beds with curtains around each one for privacy. Friendly staff.

Breakfast is included and is royal. I have never had this range and quality in a hostel before: there are different cereals, white yoghurt, different jams, peanut butter and chocolate spread and fruit to choose from. Eggs are available from the chickens in the garden. The staff bakes amazing fresh bread each day (!!) The kitchen has all facilities needed (incl an oven and 4 stoves).
The kitchen was always clean!
The bunkbeds are great and spacious, with good curtains, 2 electricity plugs, a shelf and a light.
The ensuite bathroom was always clean as well.
The hostel has a nice garden.
Bikes can be rented at the hostel. Again these are well maintained with 21 gears. Perfect for discovering the NP.
There are usually multiple members of staff present (reception, preparing in the kitchen, running "the household",.... )
Big thumbs up for the well maintained facilities by the staff. Your work and presence have been seen and appreciated ! They are so kind and always avaibable for help or questions!

I don’t know if I was just very tired from the outdoor activities I was doing during the day, but this was one of the most comfortable beds I had in Ireland. I had a top bunk in the Greece room. Breakfast was great too and the coffee shop is wonderful. I also really appreciated their commitment to sustainability. Would definitely stay again.

Very friendly staff, loved the complimentary breakfast, especially the eggs. Good location, nice sitting room, a lot of interesting things to discover, the dogs were very cute. I liked that the rooms had a bit more privacy due to the curtains. Everything was clean.
Sharing one shower and one toilet with six people was a bit stressful sometimes, but I see that that can't easily be fixed. Wifi connection could be a bit stronger, but was fine for basic messaging etc.

Staff were lovely. It's clean, eco friendly, healthy breakfast. Warm rooms, no noise. Location easy to access the main street and events. Was guided through the hostel and shown my room. You strip your own bed when leaving. Thanks for a lovely stay.
They don't tell you they ask for €10 deposit for the key. I didn't have cash so they kept my ID as deposit instead. I requested a top bunk but someone was in it when shown the room, they did find me a different room instead . Breakfast didn't have alot of options and ran out of O.J Its eco friendly, which is good but don't expect stylish beds..
