Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for a week in September and we absolutely loved everything about this apartment. It just felt so clean. I’d say my favourite part were the hosts, the family are just so kind and can’t do more for you! Whenever we messaged them to order us a taxi or ask questions they get back to you so quickly.

Nothing! The only thing I’d say which is minor as there’s a ladder, it would be great if they cleaned the steps and ladders into the water just because the moss can be quite slippery! But again, totally minor.

A serene stay with incredible hosts

We loved our stay at Villa Maestral. It was incredibly beautiful, well decorated and impeccably clean with cleaning service every day. The hosts were so accommodating, leaving drinks on arrival and giving us plenty of tips about the area. We thought the nearby restaurants, view and jetty onto the sea made this a much more relaxing option than staying closer to the old town. It was so quiet and peaceful. We would stay again in a heartbeat. If you want to reach the old town, we recommend using the company ‘red taxis’ during your stay. It was only €7 to reach the old town in a matter of minutes.

We had a really lovely time, villa was lovely and so were the hosts, facilities all really good.

Location in Dubrota was excellent, lots of great restaurants close by and a 3km, flat walk into the old town of Kotor. Having the private beach and sunbeds out the front was amazing, we used them everyday. Apartment was spacious and clean with a great kitchen with everything we needed and views across the water. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

Nothing really it was great! If I had to pick something I'd say the shower head in the bathroom needs fixing as it was broken so you couldn't adjust it and get it to stay up above your head.

Loved the location and the private sea front area we had! The owners were brilliant and very friendly and helpful. The cleaner was especially lovely!

Very recommendable (with few easy-to-fix issues)

- The short way to the sea was phenomenal :) Good restaurants are close as well. - The apartment was a really nice mix of modern and traditional. - The fridge was filled with some drinks and a piece of cake, that felt like a nice welcome. - It's good you can rent bikes; by foot, the old town is about 40 minutes away, in the summer sun that can be longer than you might think. - Every question was answered very quickly.

- They don't tell you about the annoying tourist tax/registration. I had other apartments where they not only told me about the tax but also managed the registration on their own (which I think is the duty of the properties). To neglect that can bring guests into expensive trouble. In most countries, you just pay the tax in the hotel and it's fine. In Montenegro, they often send you to a registration office. That's a problem with many accommodations from my experience and not a matter of the Vila Maestral only. Still, it would be far easier to charge one euro per night and just get it done. Or at the very least inform about it. - The messages always were in Montenegrin/Serbian, although everybody at the property spoke English, so I had to translate everything in order to respond. The messages also felt quite curt, but at the property, all people were very friendly. So maybe the texting could be more like the hospitality on-site. - Apparently there are two Vila Maestrals, and this isn't the one on Google Maps. They send you the correct location, but the taxi drivers might drive you to the wrong one first if you don't check. So that's not on the host, although I don't understand why the Google location is wrong. And maybe they could give you a hint on that as well. Despite those issues, I was glad to be there and can recommend it.

Beautiful apartments near Kotor with stunning sunlounging area

Absolutely stunning views of Kotor Bay from this beautiful accommodation. The sun lounging area is so picturesque - we loved our daily sea swims! The accommodation is quite far out from the main Kotor area (a good 50 minute walk) but we actually preferred staying near to the accommodation and eating and drinking nearer by rather than heading into the busy centre. Definitely check out Gospar restaurant for an evening meal.

The air con for our apartment was only in the living room (not the bedroom) - so it was quite tricky at night to keep cool in the June heat and get the temperature right and flowing through. But it is manageable! The apartment was quite dark and not super homely, but the outside communal areas make up for that.

Great Location

Great location with amazing views from the apartment. Just a little further out from the main town, so nice and quiet. Could easily walk into Kotor old town with lots of restaurants along the way. Apartment had everything you need including kitchen and nice seating area.

Breathtaking and relaxed.

We absolutely loved the little apartment here! The location is breathtaking and the owners are a breath of fresh air. The walk into the old town along the bay is fabulous, even when we got caught in the rain! The owners were so welcoming to us, leaving cake, beers and soft drinks in the fridge for us and even bringing some donuts on the last night! They were also very accommodating when we needed an umbrella for the rainy day! We would return in a heartbeat to this lovely apartment in the most beautiful location.

Everything was great

The location is in the middle of a unique view. The surroundings are quiet. We liked the design of the house very much. The hosts had put a lot of treats in the fridge for us. The house was spotlessly clean and this was very important to us. The hosts are wonderful people, very helpful and polite. I thank you again for everything from here. We want to stay here again on our next visit.

Having access to the seaside sun lounge area. The family were so helpful with every request and question. They responded to messages instantly.

I cannot recommend Vila Maestral in Kotor enough! This place truly offered a unique and memorable experience, exceeding my expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were met with exceptional cleanliness that left us feeling comfortable and relaxed. The kitchen facilities provided were also top-notch. A special mention must be made to the lovely surprise we found in our refrigerator. The hosts had thoughtfully left a bottle of wine, a delectable cheese cake, and refreshing soft drinks. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our arrival feel that much more special. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the private beach. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the spectacular views. Its well-maintained state added to the serene atmosphere, making each moment there pure bliss. Last but definitely not least, was the warm and hospitable host family. They were extremely attentive, ensuring all our needs were met, and were always ready to lend a helping hand or provide valuable advice. Their hospitality was a key factor that made our stay truly outstanding. In short, if you're planning a trip to Kotor, Vila Maestral should be at the top of your list. From its immaculate rooms and amenities to the wonderful host family, this place is a shining example of hospitality at its finest. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly remarkable stay in Kotor.

Perfect - we promise you wont regret it!

We were visiting the Bay of Kotor for our wedding. We had many friends and family travelling over from all over the world. Villa Maestral is the perfect place to recommend to our guests (we even stayed here for 5 nights in the lead up to our wedding after having stayed there before). Super friendly hosts, very helpful and always on hand for local recommendations. The views are breathtaking and having the pier directly on the water is incredible. Book now - promise you wont regret it.

Beautiful recently refurbished property in a stunning location. We arrrived at the start of independence holiday, so supermarkets open for 3 days. The owner had stocked our fridge with enough lovely food to last us until they reopened, really generous and thoughtful. Very comfortable giant bed, and the villa was really well equipped. Parking was very convenient. A few steps across the road and you are onto a private sunbathing area,where can watch the cruise ships sail in and out of the beautiful Kotor Bay, or if you fancy a dip there is steps into the water for swimming. Located about 40 mins chilled walk to Kotor Old Town with a few bar stops on the way if you need a break. There is several restaurants within a few minutes walk of the villa. Very charming place, great view, nice neibourhood. It had literally everything you can think of and even some more like little compliments from the hosting family) We stayed there for our wedding and vere very happy)

The place is big and made of actual stone - so it is difficult to heat. I was cold all the time, especially in the morning, because the hosts swiched the main heater off at night, and the heater continued to blow with cold air.. I can imagine that it is a blessing in summer, bun in november it is really not) The hosts were wondeful family leaving upstairs, but they do not speak English, so it was a bit challenging to communicate.

Really superb place

We spent an exceptionally wonderful week in Montenegro. The country is really beautiful and people are most friendly. As for the accommodation, the location is superb, just on the seaside with its own solar terrace and sunbeds. The apartment was immaculately clean, towels were changed every day, a decent size open plan kitchen was equipped with everything you might need and the sea-view from the living room was really stunning. There is a parking space just in front of the property. The owners are most hospitable and friendly. Upon arrival we were greeted with a bottle of local wine and some soft drinks. And during our stay we were several times offered really tasty home-made deserts. We stayed in the big apartment on the upper floor and it was very peaceful and quiet. This accommodation was really convenient for exploring the country. Airport is just 15 minutes drive away. Thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable!

Fantastic hosts in a lovely location even in the rain!

The location was brilliant. Far enough outside Kotor to be out of the noise and crowds but still easy enough to walk in to see the sights. The family are SO friendly and welcoming. Our flight was delayed but they stayed up and made sure we had a few treats on arrival. The facilities and amenities were above expectations. Despite the rain we had a fantastic few days. It must be amazing when the sun shines. Would 100% recommend.
