We absolutely loved our host, Sue. She was incredibly hospitable, preparing breakfast for us every morning and going above and beyond to ensure our comfort; we really enjoyed our chats with her. The location was also very convenient. Although it is 15 minutes from the city center, it is highly accessible thanks to a bus stop right outside the building with frequent service (max 10 min wait). Having a Lidl within short walking distance was also a huge plus, as we didn't have to carry heavy bags from the center.
There was nothing we didn't like. The stay exceeded our expectations.

Comfortable property with excellent host, Sue. Close proximity to city centre and Murrayfield. Good transport links both bus and tram to get around the city.

the B&B was in a great location for us we had a concert at murrayfield stadium and was only a 20 min walk. The owner Sue was such a loverly woman, she made us loverly breakfast in the morning let us check out bags in early and helped us with bus times and getting around the city. We even came back from the concert and we had fresh water and cups put in our room. The rooms and bathrooms were always clean. Would definitely stay here again 100% recommend staying here!

Not much. Breakfast was the only good thing about this place.
Booked for 2 nights, stayed 1. We were given a double room, bed was against the wall, hubby and I both in our early 70's, and have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Shared bathroom around the hall from our room, he had to climb over the bed to get out. Flat screen tv about 12" wide, tea and coffee making facilities on the windowsill. Do not know how this place has a rating of 4 out of 5 on booking.com.

Nothing really.

Friendly host, great breakfast, great facilities, iseal for the solo traveller.
Quite a long walk into centre of town, but there is a regular bus service.

We had a great stay with Sue. We were at a match at Murrayfield so the location was spot on, an easy 20 minute walk. It’s super easy to get into the city centre by bus with frequent buses to/from just outside. The room was as fine; it faces a very busy road but with the windows shut the noise was minimised. There were two bath/shower rooms so no issue with access. Range of choice for breakfast. Fewer eating/drinking options in the area than we expected. Overall, great stay.

Easy to find the property. Good location as cheap bus service into Edinburgh.
Basic facilities but that was all I needed as I spent most of my time out and about.
Nice chatty lady doing breakfast.
I stayed 4 nights and slept well.
Free Parking was 2 streets away. Nearby you can pay to park but only up to 4 hours on the new (Dec 2024) metering system. Although I think if you time it right it’s free overnight.
You have to choose your breakfast on a form on day 1, and your choice stays the same throughout your stay. Understandable to save waste but I’d personally prefer not to have the same every day.

Nice location, quick busride to the city. Cosy, qiet and neat. Very kind and nice host.
Would have been helpful for a foreigner to see WC markings on the doors.

Wonderful accommodation in a great location with easy access to the city centre (the bus stop is just outside the main door). Both hosts were lovely, especially the lady who was organizing breakfast in the morning, such a ray of sunshine! The room was just spacious enough for 3 of us and we really liked the bathroom decor. Breakfast in the morning was amazing! Felt like a home away from home.
Parking on the side street was easily accessible and free (as far as we could tell).
All in all we don't have anything significant to mention. We struggled a little with the very short stairs (a couple of near-falls but we admittedly are a little clumsy group...). The room had a bit of a smell but nothing we couldn't handle or that would impact our stay. Definitely will stay again if needing accommodation in Edi.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Badjao B&B - its location is just great, you can easily reach the city centre (by bus or even walk if you like), a supermarket is just across the street, and the rooms are very quiet and cosy :-) The owner Sue made a lovely breakfast and I absolutely appreciated her travel-experiences around Edingburgh and Scotland, as well as her advices when exploring and being curious about Edinburgh. I would love to be there again.
Everything was just fine :-)

Suzi the owner was great & welcoming it was like entering her home as part of the family The room was clean & comfy beds . Breakfast was spot on . The B&B is on a main bus route with bus stop on the opposite side of the road so transport to &from the city very easy.

The price, the food, the pleasant owner. Sue was wonderful.
Only that it was a bit far from city center. Not too far for me, mind you. I'm athletic so walking isn't an issue, and the bus isn't too bad either.

Excellent location for O2 Academy concerts and good bus service to City Centre. Breakfast was really good with great selection for all tastes.

Very well located apartment right on the direct bus routes into the city. The breakfast was amazing, expertly prepared by Sue who is a great host and is very happy to stay and chat whilst she prepares breakfast your you in her kitchen. It is well organised so that those staying in the property are scheduled at different slots.
Sue even made my bed and tidied the room whilst I was out.
There are two nice bathrooms shared amongst the guests (I think there are 3 rooms so not much sharing really) But, bring a dressing gown because you have to walk from your room to the bathroom..its not far, only a few steps, but if you are a shy or private person you might not like this. It definitely wouldn't stop me from going back though.
If I have to pick one thing, it would be the pillows and bedding. They were freshly laundered and spotlessly clean but I think that if the pillows were a bit more full and, the bedlinen a nice crisp good quality Egyptian cotton it would have been perfect. This is purely a personal and view others may disagree with me.

Clean facilities, good food, welcoming environment, lovely host.
I would definitely consider staying here next time I'm in town.
Locks on doors old and difficult to lock/unlock, stairs rather steep and too short lengthwise, would have preferred to be given a range of time for breakfast, common areas a little too perfumey.
This factor can't be helped but there was no en suite bathroom, which I don't prefer (it was clean, however).

The landlady/hostess was very friendly and helpful. The B+B lies right next to the bus stop- very good for getting in and out of town.
The room was clean as were both bathrooms .
The room for two people was tiny- just bigger than a shoebox! I would guess the room would measure something like 1m80x3m 60. With a double bed and a cupboard in the room, there was really no room to stand- for two people- there was just enough room to lie down on the bed. Even the door could not open completely because the bed was in the way.
Breakfast was adequate, with instant coffee ( not my favourite) , but due to the lack of room in the B+B the guests had to have their breakfasts at different times.
The room door was not able to close properly- only when locked with a key.
Both showers and toilets were communal- they were very clean.
All in all i think the price i paid for the two nights at the b+b was far too expensive. maybe other rooms were better, but this one was just definitely far too small for two people- for a single room maybe, but defnitely not a double room, and to that price.

I loved how clean it was. It was close to the airport and the breakfast was so delicious!
There really wasn’t anything negative to say. It was exactly what we needed for the night to sleep off the jet lag after flying over from the US with a fantastic breakfast to set us off for the next part of the trip.

The location is quite good with many buses passing by, a train station nearby, supermarket, petrol station etc.
The owner was very welcoming and friendly.
The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
The room, bathroom and dining room were all spotlessly clean
The property was difficult to find. It would be better if Booking.com gave the name of the main road the property is on as opposed to the name of a block of houses on the main road where the name of the block is not easily viewed. I had to ask three local people where the B and B was. There is no name board advertising its presence.
The bedroom was not ensuite. The television reception broke down on the third evening of my stay.
The bedroom was sometimes cold as the heating did not come on until 7.30 pm and was them off between 10pm and 7.30 am approximately

The breakfast was excellent and the host was very friendly.
The location is an hour walking from the city center. However there are buses to the center.

The host is a very nice and understanding person. We were supposed to arrive and got delayed by being at the rugby. Rather than being annoyed, Sue was gracious. As for breakfast, as she only has one room, you await your turn, which was fine for us.
I like a much firmer bed, but despite that, still had a good night sleep. The parking could be a problem, as you must park down a side street. Nothing else was an issue. A wonderful host and I hope she will have a great year.

The owner was friendly and helpful.
Accommodation was clean and tidy
Double room was small with tea coffe making facilities on windowsill.
Room was cold at times with hearing on an external timer
Breakfast was eaten in the property kitchen rather than a separate dining area
The property was clean and tidy but I felt tired.
I would say our stay was adequate and ok but not up to the standards implied by other reviews.

Nothing, it felt like a youth hostel.
The room was too small but classed as a double room. You could only get in bed on one side as the bed was pushed against the wall. The kettle was on the window sill. There was no sink in the room.

Place was spotlessly clean and well cared for
Early access would have been so very welcome. I arrived unexpectedly early and was stranded outside in the cold with my luggage.
