Recommended.

A beautiful and spacious apartment. It’s not very close to the city center, but you can reach it in about 20 minutes by bus. There’s also a supermarket nearby, which is extremely convenient. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

The only downside is that I didn’t like the cold in the bathroom and in the downstairs room

A very nicely presented apartment with all amenities provided and at a reasonable price. Perfect for 2-3 people. The bed and sofa bed were both comfortable, and everything was very clean. Convenient off street parking at the rear was also a nice bonus.

Some minor road noise from the front door if you're sleeping downstairs.

Had a great stay. Appreciated the quick response when the hot water went out.

Great location. Apartment has lots of character. Was well-provided. Appreciated the tea and coffee provided. Comfy beds. Lots of light. Ample parking. Host was super-responsive and addressed the few minor issues that came up ASAP.

Lovely accommodation close to the Corn Exchange

Nicely kitted out with everything you need for a self-catering stay. Comfortable bed and lounge area. Very convenient for the Corn Exchange and local supermarkets for any supplies.

The layout (mezzanine bedroom area upstairs in the Poets Retreat) made it hard to get the temperature right - if it was warm downstairs, the bedroom was too hot, and having the bedroom at the right temperature meant the living area was cold. Not sure there’s much than can be done about this though, and the apartment was otherwise lovely.

There’s wasn’t any hot water in the morning and unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to contact anyone to have it fixed. Not a big deal and didn’t soil our stay one bit.

Very confortable apartment, recently renovated next to a park on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Well equipped, clean and quiet. Staff very polite and helpful. Buss line to the center of the town at walking distance. Safeways at 100 meters from the apartment

Great place to stay, easy to get to, great price for a 15 min bus to princess street.

It was really easy to get to from centre of Edinburgh. Close to a supermarket. Clean, really nice good value for money. Lots of little extras, tea coffee and toiletries

Just being picky but a couple more oven trays would have been useful and a sweeping brush to sweep up crumbs. I couldn’t see one I could use.

Lovely Dog Friendly Stay

Lovely dog friendly apartment. Love the decor and great location.

The heating kept coming on even though it’s summer and we kept having to turning it down/try and turn it off. It came on in the middle of the night and we had to open all the doors and windows to try and keep cool. Would be great for the heating to be off in the summer months.

It was a beautiful modern apartment and fully equipped. Unit is exactly as shown in the pictures. Parking is free and within the compound. A large Sainsbury is just within walking distance which was very convenient.

Perfectly serviceable place to stay to catch an early flight the next day.

The TV remote had been stolen and it was "too late" to get one provided to us, so we couldn't use the TV. The en-suite washing machine did not have a drier, so for a single overnight, it would not have been possible to wash clothes and have them dry in time.

Old house

Beautiful old house, shops close by, parking available, nice nature walk close by. Very nice apartment, clean, two bathrooms, equipped kitchen. There is a washing machine, but no clothes airer.

A lot of noise from the street through the door, there is no insulation. Noise from the apartment above, you can hear every step. The couch bed is not comfortable for sleeping. Half of the apartment is partially underground with windows on ground level.

We had a lovely stay and the apartment was great. We even questioned asking if we could permanently live there. 😊

It was really homely and comfortable. The location was good and it felt like we were only a 20minute drive from everything although that might have been our poor navigation 😂. The apartment itself was clean and had a lot of facilities such as an oven, hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and small appliances. The beds were comfortable and cozy, even the sofa bed was nice to sleep on. We asked for a cot as one of us had a 21month old and cot provided although small was safe and easy to assemble. The hosts were really friendly and chatty to us on arrival (not sure if they had planned to be there when we got there however timing meant that our paths crossed). We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying there or even go back to the property in the future.

Our only small snag was that some of the glasses had a residue in the bottom of them however once they had been through the dishwasher they were all ok. The parking was a tad tight at times but that was due to other people who had parked there parking inconsiderately.

All in all a great comfortable stay and felt very at home. Will return for my third visit soon!

Slateford House is a great set up for Travellers looking for creature comforts - great equipped kitchen, lounge, bathrooms and bedroom. The hosts are quick respond to queries and are very pleasant and understanding.

This is my second stay and will definitely return however I did find the bed to be a bit lumpy in the middle this time, and the en-suite shower drain needed to be lifted for the shower to drain properly.
