My stay

The staff were exceptionally helpful. Changed my room 3 times without hesitation, or complaints. Beds were comfortable Good location. Close to plenty of shops around you and not too far from main attractions of edinburgh. Had its own shampoo and body wash in the bathroom which was very useful Little snack/drink fridge in reception if you were feeling a little peckish. Clean rooms and basic necessities for your stay

This is from a personal standpoint as I am very particular about my noise when I sleep. 1st room on the 1st floor was very noisy due to being situated very close to the main generators for the AC units. Was reverbarating around the room. Also had an interconnecting door that led to next door (Was inaccessible) but it made the noises from next door very prominent. 2nd room was on the 6th floor and that had the same issue as the first being underneath the generators on the roof. These really disturbed my sleep and I could not switch off 3rd room was located on the 3rd floor, and I could not hear the generators, so I was able get a more restful sleep. Unfortunately during my time at this hotel, there was just too much noise and I could not get a full restful sleep. Again, this is more from a personal standpoint just in case anyone has the same issues as me. I just want to reiterate that the staff did everything they could to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible.

Disappointed

The bed was comfortable

Someone elses business in the toilet when I arrived. Unclean surfaces in bedroom, carpet not hoovered properly. The room was extremely cold on arrival, and constant noise from plumbing and heating system all through the night.

The location is fine if you don’t mind taking the local 43 bus.

The staff was “interesting” to deal with. The manager was incredibly rude and seemed to always be in a bad mood. I hope she doesn’t treat the employees the way she treated us, though that would explain a lot. The food was incredibly expensive for the microwaved food we got in the evening, but the breakfast was included and tasty enough to enjoy. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Well positioned with bus stop outside the hotel that provided options for getting into the city. Staff were exceptionally nice and helpfull. Breakfast had lots of choices and well staffed. Great service.

Common areas were well used and it was starting to looked aged. Lifts were slow in the morning. Took me 10 mins to get a lift from.2nd floor.

Fabulous city break at holiday inn

Great Hotel for the price. All of the staff we spoke to were really lovely - it was only 10 to 15 minutes into the centre of Edinburgh on the bus which stops right outside the hotel. Lovely breakfast with plenty of things to choose from. exceptional view across the whole of Edinburgh city from our floor (4th). Rooms clean and tidy with all the amenities needed.

Excellent location with only a 10 min bus journey into the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, they take pride in there work. Breakfast and room was excellent.

Experience did not meet my expectations

The park area around the hotel.

The breakfast area was crowded and untidy, particularly the chairs, which were often left uncleaned. The breakfast menu was very limited and did not reflect the price paid for the room. The room itself was quite small and lacked basic amenities such as room service and a fridge. Additionally, the hotel does not offer laundry services, which was disappointing and inconvenient. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the price.

Easy waking to Murrayfield.. 24 hrs bar but u wait about 30mins plus for a drink.. clueless need more training super slow.. room clean comfy bed but that’s about it

I give the property higher marks o ly for comfort of the bed .. the food on other wards was awful.. so sad a hotel with expensive over frozen base pizza hard chicken with onion layered on top is not a way to cut corners. We waited an hour for 2 pizza which were solid over cooked dry and clearly frozen reheated.. we got it refunded ..they even told me the base was frozen.. no breakfast table was set up which would have been nicer self service for everything good juice though.. the breakfast was on really small plates no bigger than a side plate .. so was hard to even out single layer scrambled egg bacon toast bean sausage and hash brown on.. u need 2 plates to eat it easily without over flowing can’t believe they didn’t do fried eggs disappointed. We order snacks in evening a toasty.. cheese n ham it came looked ok got up to the room and wow brick hard uneadible.. we called reception no answer after 30mins had to get dressed again and go down to bar n wait another 30mins .. what if there was an. Emergency.. not acceptable.. bar staff clueless no cash system all card terrible.. again refunded.. bed clean comfy had to ask for more pillows.. as they took ours for kids tiny sofa bed.. toilet is tiny can’t move about .. carpet stained .. bathroom dated needing refurbed.. shower hot cold slow/ low pressure if u turn it up.. stained towels

An enjoyable stay.

The hotel was conveniently situated to where we needed to be. The rooms were spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids(15 and 11), although perhaps the sofa bed was a bit too small for our 2 daughters. Breakfast was included and there was a good variety provided.

There was nothing specific that we did not like. If we needed to be picky then I’d say that perhaps the orange juice could be fresh, or the second bed a wee bit wider.

This has to be one of the loudest hotels ive ever stepped foot in, not just the walls are thin but so are the windows, even 4 floors up it sounded like we had a window open the noise from outside was so loud, and both nights and mornings we were distrubed by our neighbours

Tired but clean hotel room, breakfast was very good if you can find a seat in allocated area.

The staff were excellent.

Improvements could be made in the breakfast room. Dogs were only allowed (as is right) on the hard flooring. There weren’t enough tables for dog users as non dog users filled these areas. There were plenty of spare tables on the carpeted area not being used. The allocation for dog owners in the breakfast area on the hard flooring area should be highlighted.

Great value for money, highly recommend and quality stay

Very friendly staff, Ethan at check in and Sally at breakfast were lovely and really polite and friendly. Cosy and warm beds. Bus to the city straight outside the door and easy to access. A bit steep if in a wheelchair, perhaps not the ideal location if mobility issues. Toasties were tasty and good choices of food for meals and breakfast

Excellent customer service

The staff are all lovely. They made the stay extra special. Everyone we spoke to went above and beyond to help us. The room was really cold. And we didn’t like that we couldn’t control the temperature. However, the staff did do everything they could to fix it. The location is pretty good too. Breakfast felt limited but very good value for money overall.

Functional hotel for a brief stay, lovely staff

I liked the location very hand so we could walk to Murrayfeld Stadium. All staff were really lovely

It cost me nearly £700 to stay for 2 nights, I understand that the prices were elevated as we were Edinburgh to see Taylor Swift but I really felt that this was just pure greed

Clean, friendly but price more than double usual cost due to a popular Murrayfield concert playing!

Clean and welcoming. Breakfast pleasant. Easy 30min walk to Murrayfield using cycle way behind hotel.

We attended for a popular Murrayfield concert and the pice was £750 per room - the weekend after and the cost would have been £270! The price increase was ridiculous. I felt we were taken advantage of.
