Fabulous vibe in the hotel. Staff were amazing - friendly, warm, welcoming, attentive. Food and drink was exceptional too. Overall, great value for money and perfectly located - you can easily walk to many of the city’s attractions.

Great building characterful blend of styles
The mugs say ‘just add shortbread’ but there wasn’t any. A couple of nice biscuits would have been appreciated.

The location was good for travelling to the airport. The hotel was clean and designed very nicely. The lobby and bar area had a good atmosphere.
Our check in experience wasn’t ideal. We arrived quite late and were tired from our travels. I had expected check in to be swift but it took a very long time and my family were waiting around for over half an hour to get our rooms sorted. It wasn’t busy and there were plenty of staff. It just felt like the staff member we dealt with didn’t know what they were doing and seemed flustered. Firstly, they didn’t know how much our overall stay cost. They quoted a smaller figure than what I booked with booking.com. Being honest I flagged this with them and they amended it but it all felt chaotic. This took quite some time to resolve. We were then given our key cards to the room. When we tried entering we could hear someone in the room already. We then had to go back down to reception and the reception staff confirmed we’d been given the wrong number. This was all in addition to the 30 minutes we waited initially. We also requested a turn over service for our sheets and towels. In the morning we used our towels and did not hang them to dry as we thought they’d be refreshed. When we returned to our hotel the room had not been made up and we had wet towels for the morning. The staff were good in sorting this out, although again this took some time. I’d say our stay was ok but for the price we paid I’d have expected a bit more attention to detail.

Great location, cozy room and comfortable beds.
The shower was luke warm on our first night, and when I went down to reception to tell someone they basically told me it wasn't meant to be very hot and maybe I just like hot showers..... He then went to check for himself whilst I sat at the bar, however he never came to find me and let me know. It was a very strange interraction and I didn't appreciate being told it was essentially my fault. The shower was fine the next morning and for the rest of our stay.

Lovely, tidy, and comfortable room with friendly staff, and the hotel’s location is excellent. The bed is extremely comfortable.
The water takes a while to heat up, so you need to turn it on and let it run for a few minutes first.

Lovely rooms and decor, comfy bed, really quiet and with great room amenities (tea, proper milk, kettle etc). Plenty of hanging space/storage. Location was good for me, though I am happy to walk a lot and had dry weather — it's about a 25-30 minute walk into the Royal Mile etc. Also close to Stockbridge, which is a great spot to visit. Front desk staff were really welcoming and friendly and room service was delicious. Well priced.
Distance from town didn't bother me, but I might have been less keen on walking so much if it was raining. Might feel a little too far from the action/main attractions for some. I also feel the charge for housekeeping should be mentioned at check in — I was only asked if I wanted housekeeping or not, and at no point was I advised that it was an extra fee. I didn't mind paying it, but it should be flagged as an additional cost when checking in.

Superb bed. Very, very comfortable. Good shower too.
Quite noisy. Can hear people in corridors all the time. My room was also beside the lift, which beeped relentlessly for 30 mins in the morning. Hair in the bathroom, which could easily have been brushed up.

The bar area, and the snack and lunch menu was fantastic. The staff were really friendly.
The room was tiny for the price that we paid. There was no space for luggage, the shower had low pressure, the air conditioning unit was noisy. Breakfast was very expensive (we chose to eat out)

The hotel is lovely and the deco is very modern and comfortable
I have only one complain, the pillows were flat, need more fluff and woke up with a stiff neck a couple of times. Bedding otherwise was comfy. Towels are amazing. Big and fluffy !

From the chairs to the old-fashioned telephone and radio, the styling and décor of my room were fabulous—far exceeding the high expectations I had after walking through the hotel lobby. In addition to the room’s appearance, the bed was comfortable, the shower was INCREDIBLE, and all other amenities were top-notch. Based solely on the hotel’s comfort and amenities—10/10 recommend. The front desk made me feel special when I arrived early and again when I received my room key. A few hours after I checked in, I decided to stay hydrated by drinking tap water from a wine glass in the top bunk. When I got down, I stepped down onto a chair instead of using the bunk bed’s stairs. The fall was terrible—I landed on my back and shattered the wine glass. I sustained two deep cuts from the glass: one under my eyebrow and one on my middle finger. The room was a bloodbath (the doctor told me I sliced a vein in my finger, which is why I lost so much blood). I went down to the front desk to ask how urgent care in Scotland works. They immediately called an ambulance and designated a staff member to stay with me, while other team members continued to check on me. After an hour of waiting for the ambulance, the staff member got us a cab to the hospital and stayed with me the entire time. When I returned to the hotel, a different staff member bought me dinner because of the day I’d had—even though the accident was 100% my fault. While I was waiting for my meal, the manager approached me to let me know they had moved me to another room because of all the blood in the original one. The new room had chocolates waiting for me. After the fall, I sought help from the front desk with only one expectation—to be directed to a medical facility for stitches. To say the staff went “above and beyond" is an understatement. The people employed by The Hoxton are some of the most special, wonderful people I’ve ever met. Each staff member was one in a million.

The hotel was immaculate and stylish with warm, comfy rooms. The location is a bit of a walk from the main tourist attractions but the proximity to Haymarket Station makes up for that. It’s also close to lots of great restaurants.
Food and drink was a little overpriced

It’s stylish and very cosy.
Beds are spacious (we had bunk bed).
Radio in the room with chill music - is really nice idea.
Shower gel and body lotion smell divine.
Very slow breakfast (we were waiting around 40m for food) - we almost got late to the train.

Didn't eat breakfast in hotel. Restaurant attached (Patatino) was excellent Italian and lively. Great choice for a friday evening. Food very good. The lobby, bar and coffee area were casual and great place to sit and read or enjoy a coffee/cocktail
Our "cosy" room on 3rd floor had a small window so was a little dark. The tea/coffee in room was limited and very little space to put clothes away. No bath but shower was fantastic.

Good location, super service. Best breakfast in town!
More options for eating in-house. Better stocked mini bar in room for when you don’t have time to fill it up yourself.

The room was clean, the shower was amazing, the radio was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and the window worked. For many hotels in old buildings it is hard to get a draft in the room from the window, this was not an issue.
£300 for one night in a smaller sized room (bunk beds) was on the expensive side in my opinion. The drinks selection at the hotel bar could have been slightly more varied.
