Edinburgh West Side Hostel

I thought the beds were very comfortable. Owner made sure they were spotless and clean every day which goes a long way. We read before hand that some of the reviews were complaining about the location, we thought the location was very good, hop onto a bus for 8 mins and your into the city but your also a good distance away from it. Thought the cleanliness was good as well no problems there.

We scheduled with the owner a late check in which I understand is a frustration in itself, our flight ended up getting delayed which meant we’d be even later then our scheduled arrival. We had the code for the keys and everything and we had the code in and there was no sign of the keys which led us to knocking on the doors. Could’ve been a easy mistake to make which is why I’m not fussed on this but this was the only sort of hiccup we had on our stay.

Whilst the hostel is really good all-round, it's the staff that just makes it great. So friendly and welcoming! Was my 19 year old's first stay in a hostel for a course and the staff reassured us so much prior to him arriving. Thank you!

I liked the place in itself. It's located in a very friendly neighborhood. The rooms and bathrooms where very clean. Easy to get downtown and back by bus. It has a tabern downstairs, where you can talk to locals.

That the beds didn't have curtains for privacy.
