The price and location is brilliant.
Somewhere to store my bicycle in doors would have good but was able to chain it to the fence in the front of reception which has cameras and line of view of staff.

Okay
The stay was going okay until we were checking out and the manager of the hostel gave out to us for not checking out at 10. We were just 40 minutes after 10, but if he wanted us out at 10 he should have come to the room at 10.05 and we would’ve been gone in 5 minutes. Over the weekend all I could see the manager do is just two things be on his phone and give out to his staff and customers. I certainly won’t be returning to this hostel and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to either. The manager of this place would really do with a stern talking to as he certainly doesn’t make you feel welcome.

One of the guests helped himself to someone else’s bunk but not much one can do about some people

I liked the cooperative feel of the hostel. Walking into the kitchen there was a pleasant hum of activity. This sort of place is good for people that buy in, and don't expect everything to be like a hotel. Some problema come and go and met with a positive approach.
Nothing comes to mind, and few hiccups but no dramas.

The TV room in the basement was comfortable.
Some of the toilets were fresh and well taken care of.
Our milk was stolen even though we had marked it.
The room had very bad air. The whole thing has bad or missing ventilation.
Thin walls. Creaking beds.
No chair in the room.
Sticky surfaces.
May be all this is normal for a hostel.

It was very cool staying in the old church. Facilities and common room were all good.
Our bunk room smelt very musky. Not sure if it was moss or dirty sheets/carpet but it wasn’t incredibly pleasant in our room.

Loved the location! A hostel in an old church was really cool to see and wasn't far from the centre. Our room was cosy and clean. The beds were very comfortable! Staff were lovely too.
The place was pretty noisy, unfortunately. It didn't help where our room was situated as we were right next to the canteen, the cleaning cupboard and the male showers so there was noise constantly through the night so we didn't really sleep. Minus the noise the hostel was great! Just wish we were situated somewhere slightly quieter in the hostel.

Located within walking distance from the city center in beautifull Dean Village. Attractive interior for those who can appreciate original and unussual things. Spacious and well-equipped kitchen, nice and comfortable common room.
I stayed in a bedroom for six. Even though there were only five of us, the air in the room was very bad in the morning, only possible ventilation was through a ceiling window, which we could not reach to open.

Easy 25 minute walk into city centre or a quick 5 minute walk to catch tram.
We had a private room with shared bathroom. Had no problems accessing it whenever it was needed. Bathroom very clean.

Bathrooms full or hard to access, not hot water

Pretty cool novelty getting to stay in a converted church! Generally speaking the volunteer staff were kind and friendly. We booked during the off season, so it was a pretty empty space compared to what it might be during peak. Decent amenities, pool table, tv/game room, foosball, and large kitchen. Overall, one of the better hostel experiences I've had.
Our room was on the main floor near an emergency exit out the back. There was someone doing work on their car for the majority of our stay just outside our room/the outside hallway. So in addition to the noise, there was a bit of a security concern with the door being left open and unattended. Also meant the whole back hallway was freezing cold as any hot air from our room just got pulled out. Also, I don't know if the garbage was out the back in the same area or what, but there was a lingering smell in the hallway, full garbage bags that sat inside the back door, and despite the relative emptiness of the low season, it seemed like we were in a pretty high traffic area.
There is NO cancellation or refund policy, even for one night of a longer stay. My partner and I had considered an extra day in our previous destination but there was no flexibility in this booking, so something to consider.

I loved the atmosphere of the property and how comfortable the beds were!
The only thing that was a ever so slight downer was that they had no shampoo in the showers
