The staff were great, friendly and helpful. However, the room was next to toilets and the constant noise from them was really annoying and also a door at the end of a very short corridor nearby kept opening with a squeaking noise then shutting with a bang. Very poor nights sleep.

We stayed here for 3 nights for a long weekend away in Edinburgh but were sadly left disappointed by the stay. Whilst the staff were lovely and helpful, the issue was the room itself, with lots of smaller things going wrong or not working. We arrived to find the drain under the sink was leaking, with a bin placed underneath to catch the water rather than fixing this before we arrived. A temporary fix was then made before being replaced, keeping us out of the room for a couple hours our first night with only 1 drinks voucher to compensate us, with neither of us wanting to drink that night. Upon return the next day once the permanent fix was made, the leak was fixed but the water in the bin had been put down the toilet, with the bin bag also half down the toilet rather than being removed. This alongside the toilet flush nearly falling off, and periodically not getting any hot water from the shower after out long day trips into the city, subdued our moods and sadly dampened our evenings. We had breakfast included, and whilst the continental and traditional scottish breakfasts were good, we weren't impressed by the other breakfast options which were available. Given that we were staying in Edinburgh to celebrate our anniversary and a birthday, we were happy to pay for what we expected to be a high-quality hotel. However we both felt that our stay at the Murrayfield was not worth the price and we sadly won't be returning.

This hotel accepts coach parties so our check in was slow due to having to wait for a coach party to sort their rooms out. We had a room in the house separate from the main hotel. It was on the ground floor looking out onto the very busy main road. Privacy and road noise were an issue as well as noise from the the front door being shut by other guests. The room was well appointed and very clean. The bathroom had a frosted glass door which had a gap around it. Again it was a privacy issue and if you went to the bathroom in the night you lit up the bedroom! Also the extractor in the bathroom didn't work. Breakfast was poorly organised with many tables having used cutlery and crockery left on them, service was slow. The breakfast itself was excellent. Well cooked with quality ingredients. It is well located for public transport into the city centre. Overall for the price charged I would have expected better.

The Murrayfield Hotel is very comfortable and though having a good restaurant on premises, it is also relatively close to other dining options by car or bus. Parking is available and plentiful too. While not an issue for us, there is no elevator/lift, so you must schlep your bags up at least 1 long flight of stairs.

Murrayfield staff are fantastic and the hotel room was very clean.The bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. It is close to the tram that got us back to the hotel at midnight when no ubers were available and the military tatoo at the castle was over

Overpriced - prices were almost quadrupled because of the Oasis concert and the room was nowhere near worth it. It was very small and quite dusty. Our window looked out at urinals in the carpark. A fire door in our corridor was propped open where an outdoor bar was - this felt unsafe. The staff did not accommodate a request to change the time of our meal by an hour despite the restaurant being less than half full.

Great hotel in Edinburgh by Murrayfield Stadium, so not in the heart of the city, but easy buses just outside the hotel to get you there. I really like the hotel, but the rooms are dated and need a renovation, although that is not a major negative. If the rooms could be spruced up the hotel would be exceptional if you prefer staying in non-chain hotels.

Room was very small and hot on arrival but turns out their was mix up on the booking confirmation system between Expedia and the hotel. My confirmation showed one room type and the hotels showed differently. Hotel team were friendly and accommodating and resolved situation professionally.

This hotel was very nice, clean, and comfortable! My room was on the third floor and while there is no elevator staff offered to carry any and all bags I had to my room. The large windows were great and I enjoyed the views. This hotel was close to a bus stop that could take me into downtown Edinburgh with ease! On arrival staff were super helpful and this remained the case throughout our stay. The hotel is very comfortable and our room was recently renovated so modern and very clean. The bothy serves great food in the bar/restaurant and on the terrace. Location was fab across the road from Murrayfield stadium. Highly recommend this hotel.

I was concerned after reading the reviews after booking this hotel. My room was very small (cosy double) but OK as I was travelling for business and staying alone. It would be quite cosy for 2 people though. Bedroom was getting a little worn and tired and probably in need of a refresh although the bed looked relatively new and was comfortable. Bathroom looked to have been recently refurbed and was lovely and clean. It had a large walk in shower. I have to agree with other reviews about the cleanliness. The coffee cups had stains in and the teaspoons definitely hadn't been washed. The dust was so thick on top of the wardrobe it was visible and you wouldn't of dared touch the TV remote control is was so disgusting. Room was hotter than the sun but there was a fan in the wardrobe which was broken but that I manged to fix. Didn't have breakfast but the selection of teas, coffees and biscuits in the room was nice. As mentioned in other reviews the recycling guys turn up around 6.30am so you get an early wake up call as they empty the glass bottle from the bar below.

We didn't eat every meal there but the food we had was delicious. They had plenty of outdoor seating and we had fabulous weather when we were there in May so we took advantage. The lady at check in (sadly I can't remember her name) was excellent and very helpful at advising us of attractions, transportation, and dining. Our room had a beautiful bay window which added to the pleasure of our stay. The restaurant staff was very pleasant and the meals were very good.
