Fantastic location, lovely building and decor

Just a minor detail of marks and stains on the bedspreads that are at the end of the beds, this is slightly off putting. However the bed linen was spotless

All in all, great place to stay, warm, friendly and comfortable.

We were there for the rugby, excellent in every way. Staff are amazing, food is good, room very comfortable

Breakfast was a bit overcooked. Very busy weekend so didn’t like to comply but personally I wouldn’t have served it. I paid £15 for two rashers of pretty crispy bacon and half an overcooked tomato!

Good was good room small but cozy bathroom small but clean bathrobes and slippers provided toiletries great most of staff was very friendly and helpful will be back

Having booked for my husband birthday!! Daughters had got a gift card for food but didn’t scan !! Young boy wasn’t very helpful with this passing it over to the next days staff but thankfully lady was very helpful and sorted it out so thanks for that even though not our mistake

Relaxing

Great staff. There was an issue with the boiler with low water pressure so the radiators were off and the hot water was gone for a spell but as soon as I talked to them they were on it. Great night sleep and very filling breakfast the next day. If we are up that way again we will definitely stay again

The Royal Embrace

Loved how many towels they were, the attention to detail that the staff have put in, the smell of the room, the soft flooring, new bathroom and blackout curtains.

The bed was two single beds put together. Makes it hard to be close to your partner during the night as youre falling in-between the mattresses.

Convenience / location and parking trumps most for us. However, not sure I'd pay this again.

Friendly and helpful receptionist. Spacious room (described as a suite). Modern bathroom, no damp smells. Very comfortable mattress. Snack in restaurant in the evening was ok, as was the service. The venue for us was Murrayfield event, so this hotel is pretty hard to beat for proximity to that. Parking also good.

The loo in reception had not been serviced - smelled discgusting and faecal matter visible. The lighting in the room was pretty dim. Large bay window onto main road (major exit road from Edinburgh to airport) had no secondary glazing, so the room was pretty noisy overnight also. The breakfast was disappointing - didnt seem to be enough staff. THe waiting staff were very pleasant, but I was surprised to see that their hair was not tied up/set back so as not to risk food contamination. Conversation with some other guests revealed that I seem to have paid a really extortionate fee for the room and breakfast for my husband and I.

Truly awful experience, stay elsewhere!

The room was spacious and really beautiful. The decor was modern and cohesive.

Where to begin. Firstly we arrived later in the night when it was quite dark with 3 bags in tow, and when we checked in we were instructed to leave the building, go a few doors down and find a different building where our room would be. There was no attempt to even show us to our room. But the worst of all, for the whole duration of our stay, we had no hot water, and everytime we raised the issue we were told everything is fine on their part and it should work but it never did. It was really frustrating that we weren’t provided any practical solution. What made it even worse for me was we were staying there for my birthday and after not being able to take a shower for yet another day, all I wanted was to order some room service. However upon inquiry, they said they would be unable to as the restaurant was too busy due to a football match. While I understand the situation and the team was polite, this was not a cheap stay, not centrally located and the only thing they could have offered (comfort) they massively failed to do so.

Nice comfy little Hotel

Amazing little hotel, excellent welcoming from the front desk staff. Without asking, they offered the access to our room 2hours before the check in time and without adding any extra charges. Excellent front desk staff. Excellent bedrooms, bed comfortable and the heating system is working well. Very comfortable.

The breakfast was ok, but we payed for the breakfast included and I was surprised that I had to pay extra for a cappuccino. The staff in the breakfast area can definitely be improved. They need to be trained on how to better listen to the customers and better communicate with them....and a smile from time to time wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately we found some hair in the bathroom, but the rest of the room was neat.

Brilliant, can’t wait to return.

Easily accessible and especially to Murrayfield Stadium as we were at the Scotland v Tonga game. Very well organised and security were aware of who were residents in the hotel.

Lack of parking, and trying to get parked. But that’s a minor issue and everything else supersedes this.

Room was cosy and comfy! ❤️ Loved the touches like bath towel robes, etc. Staff were super friendly. Even though it was very busy because of the rugby you couldn't hear any noise from the outside and the marquees were great :)

The layout is a bit confusing is there more than one bar and restaurant? We did ask a few staff members questions and they would pass you onto another staff member and then to another.... They were all friendly though!

Fabulous hotel

Spent an overnight at this hotel when attending a family gathering. Staff were great and we enjoyed our food and drinks. Lovely hotel with great access to the centre of Edinburgh. We enjoyed our stay that much we have re-booked for the weekend before Christmas to have a little pre-Christmas break. Can’t wait to return.

All in all, a decent hotel but, could do better.

The location was perfect for Murrayfield Stadium. The food was good.

I would expect at least, half decent toilet paper, what was supplied was poorer than poor. I’m sure that for the price they charge per night they might supply better quality loo roll. The bar staff were nice but, they seemed to want to close the bar very early, around 10pm on Friday & 10.30pm on the Saturday that we were there, they didn’t, but us & others were definitely being encouraged to go to our rooms & use the night porter! Car parking was an issue, when there are events at Murrayfield Stadium the hotel uses most of the parking to set up marquees as extra bars, we were lucky, we managed to get a space but, it was just luck!

The Staff were nice, and the bed was Comfortable! There is a lot of Character to admire about this hotel.

I just felt that the room was a bit on the small side for £250 a night. If you are on the top floor, there are lots of stairs to climb too!

I enjoyed staying in this hotel.

I liked the interior of the Hotel very much. The staff was friendly as well. There are also free parking spots right outside the property which is really convenient.

It could’ve been a little bit more clean (e.g. the heater in the bathroom, where the towels hang). Also it is quite a long walk to the city center but there is a bus stop just a few metres down the street.

A very comfortable stay

The reception staff member - i think her name was Rudeka - was excellent. Gave us a warm welcome and very helpful Managed to retrieve an item of equipment left in the room and contacted me to let me know. Can't ask for better service. All staff were polite and gave great service. The bed in room 9 was fabulous!

The list of branded spirits was limited at the bar - asked for Barcardi and was not available.

We loved the location. Staff were so friendly and super efficient and accommodating . Our room was upgraded and made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast delicious and such a bonus having parking available so near the city centre. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The size of the room and situation

Thought the service at breakfast was poor. The food was lovely and service at Dinner was fabulous. But the two men serving breakfast need significant training on how to serve, address and attentiveness towards guests was really poor

Lovely stay in west end of Edinburgh

Really liked the location. Nice to be away from city center and by a leafy neighborhood. Had parking, plenty of counter space in the bathroom, nice high ceilings in our room on top floor. The restaurant was nice and quite popular, so make a reservation if you think you will eat there. No other restaurants are nearby that were open. Very nice staff! Bus stop is very close.

Minor things - two of the lights were a bit dim, the bed was a bit firm.
