Nice comfy little Hotel

Amazing little hotel, excellent welcoming from the front desk staff. Without asking, they offered the access to our room 2hours before the check in time and without adding any extra charges. Excellent front desk staff. Excellent bedrooms, bed comfortable and the heating system is working well. Very comfortable.

The breakfast was ok, but we payed for the breakfast included and I was surprised that I had to pay extra for a cappuccino. The staff in the breakfast area can definitely be improved. They need to be trained on how to better listen to the customers and better communicate with them....and a smile from time to time wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately we found some hair in the bathroom, but the rest of the room was neat.

Brilliant, can’t wait to return.

Easily accessible and especially to Murrayfield Stadium as we were at the Scotland v Tonga game. Very well organised and security were aware of who were residents in the hotel.

Lack of parking, and trying to get parked. But that’s a minor issue and everything else supersedes this.

Room was cosy and comfy! ❤️ Loved the touches like bath towel robes, etc. Staff were super friendly. Even though it was very busy because of the rugby you couldn't hear any noise from the outside and the marquees were great :)

The layout is a bit confusing is there more than one bar and restaurant? We did ask a few staff members questions and they would pass you onto another staff member and then to another.... They were all friendly though!

Fabulous hotel

Spent an overnight at this hotel when attending a family gathering. Staff were great and we enjoyed our food and drinks. Lovely hotel with great access to the centre of Edinburgh. We enjoyed our stay that much we have re-booked for the weekend before Christmas to have a little pre-Christmas break. Can’t wait to return.

All in all, a decent hotel but, could do better.

The location was perfect for Murrayfield Stadium. The food was good.

I would expect at least, half decent toilet paper, what was supplied was poorer than poor. I’m sure that for the price they charge per night they might supply better quality loo roll. The bar staff were nice but, they seemed to want to close the bar very early, around 10pm on Friday & 10.30pm on the Saturday that we were there, they didn’t, but us & others were definitely being encouraged to go to our rooms & use the night porter! Car parking was an issue, when there are events at Murrayfield Stadium the hotel uses most of the parking to set up marquees as extra bars, we were lucky, we managed to get a space but, it was just luck!

Great location for the rugby. Excellent accommodating staff. Lovely comfy room.

There was a lot of noise at night from the stairwell outside our room. It would be good if guests could be asked to be a little quieter after a certain time.

Our stay was still enjoyable enough!

The Staff were nice, and the bed was Comfortable! There is a lot of Character to admire about this hotel.

I just felt that the room was a bit on the small side for £250 a night. If you are on the top floor, there are lots of stairs to climb too!

The rooms are very generous in size, comfortable beds and great facilities. The bathroom shower was huge, toiletries and towels great. The whole house was luxurious setting ti stay in.

I enjoyed staying in this hotel.

I liked the interior of the Hotel very much. The staff was friendly as well. There are also free parking spots right outside the property which is really convenient.

It could’ve been a little bit more clean (e.g. the heater in the bathroom, where the towels hang). Also it is quite a long walk to the city center but there is a bus stop just a few metres down the street.

A very comfortable stay

The reception staff member - i think her name was Rudeka - was excellent. Gave us a warm welcome and very helpful Managed to retrieve an item of equipment left in the room and contacted me to let me know. Can't ask for better service. All staff were polite and gave great service. The bed in room 9 was fabulous!

The list of branded spirits was limited at the bar - asked for Barcardi and was not available.

We loved the location. Staff were so friendly and super efficient and accommodating . Our room was upgraded and made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast delicious and such a bonus having parking available so near the city centre. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Thought the service at breakfast was poor. The food was lovely and service at Dinner was fabulous. But the two men serving breakfast need significant training on how to serve, address and attentiveness towards guests was really poor

Lovely stay in west end of Edinburgh

Really liked the location. Nice to be away from city center and by a leafy neighborhood. Had parking, plenty of counter space in the bathroom, nice high ceilings in our room on top floor. The restaurant was nice and quite popular, so make a reservation if you think you will eat there. No other restaurants are nearby that were open. Very nice staff! Bus stop is very close.

Minor things - two of the lights were a bit dim, the bed was a bit firm.

Lovely bedroom but don’t come if any of your party are gluten free.

Lovely bedroom and superb bathroom.

My gluten free breakfast was very poor. No gf cereal (I don’t think a couple of pounds for a box would break the bank). The full Scottish breakfast was without haggis, black pudding, sausage or potato scone - not worth having really.

We stayed in the house a few doors down, it was a beautiful building with a large room for us.

Beautiful and comfortable boutique hotel.

It was the second time with my niece we stayed at that hotel. We had liked the place during our first stay and decided to stay there again. We were upgraded to a bigger twin room with high ceiling on the first floor with the view on the garden in the back. Very nice bathroom too. The hotel has a nice breakfast formula, it is a mix of buffet with a dish you can choose from.

Noisy downstairs neighbors, got woken up in the middle of the night and slamming of doors. Outside of the control of the hotel management who apologized for the inconvenience.

Excellent Location

Location was great especially close to bus stop towards Princes Street. Very pleasant staff and very attentive.

Breakfast was overpriced @ £16.50 pp Bedside table was too small as was taken up by lamp. Unacceptable being charged 10% service for taking my own drinks to room! Did remove this from bill when questioned but got impression night porter didn’t like it?

..........Very few staff...and the staff they had failed to turn up for work...only 2 on Sunday morning...no clean tables, waiting ages for food, lack of food....Monday no breakfast staff, no food, tea or coffee 3 Americans left, no one on reception....we would like money back as we had no breakfast...a member of staff told us it was bloody chaos. ....we were put into a disabled room that did not look anything like the pictures I am very dissatisfied with Booking.com that i have used on regular trips...especially what they were charging ...can you please get back to me regarding some sort of recompense....very unhappy customer of yours

Brilliantly located, excellent service provided and cosy rooms!

We were staying for a trip to Edinburgh and Oasis concert, from the moment we arrived the staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful (thank you Mo!). The bar and restaurant is the hotel’s centrepiece and is an excellent location for travelling into the city and just a few steps away from Murrayfield Stadium. The size of the room is small but the bed is comfy and the bathroom is spacious so makes up for this.

Our only issue was that our room was located right next to the courtyard and unfortunately we were woken up to the loud sound of barrels being moved around right outside our window but this did not affect our stay overall.

Overall, I really did enjoy my stay and loved the chandelier and the cozy big room.

Breakfast was excellent. They had a lot of variety on the continental part of the breakfast. The hot breakfast was excellent. Our room was nice and large. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We asked for twin beds but were given a large bed and a pull-out couch. The couch my friend slept on wasn't the most comfortable. Also, housekeeping took my washcloth that I will never see again. I wasn't a fan of the frosted non lockable bathroom door.

We left the hotel and booked another location

Room was dirty with stained carpet throughout and en suite had a badly chipped sink and mould around shower base. Furniture was badly worn and stool was broken. No air conditioning and fan in room noisy and not powerful Service in restaurant very slow

Location was good

There were many stairs and we had to carry our own suitcases up to the top floor. There was no staff to help with it. One of our rooms only had cold water, so they had cold showers! The other room, the water ran super hot and you couldn’t adjust the temperature down! When I told the staff they just said you have to try and run the water in the tap for a while first and then turn on the shower….well how on earth would anyone know about that? Staff were also hard to find around the hotel and mostly unhappy in their demeanour….it was a very sad experience because the hotel itself had a lovely charm to it….

Dusty

Our first room was very very dusty, and there were still hairs in the shower. The water was also lukewarm. After complaining, we got another room (with no excuses) which was slightly cleaner and had hot water, but still very very dusty, with unclean carpet and stained furnitures… correct but not worth the 300€/night !

Perfect hotel, perfect weekend!

The hotel was lovely, room was a very good size and had everything we needed. The bar was lovely and the staff were so lovely! Perfect spot just 10 mins into the centre on a bus and parking was perfect at the hotel. Great spot for when you’re done with the hustle and bustle and just want to put your feet up!

We had a fantastic stay for two night however, our first night there were kids running up and down the stairs, slamming doors. I told hotel reception who had a quiet word, they continued so I confronted them myself which seemed to do the trick. Not the hotels fault at all, parents fault for leaving small children in a room whilst they go for a meal.
