The location worked out well as I was there to attend Edinburgh Fringe. There were two buses that took me where I needed to go so that was grand. I liked having the little coffee area although I had to ask about it. The WORST thing was the bed. The mattress was extremely old, out of date and terribly uncomfortable. The coil springs poked into my body and I was constantly moving all night. I did inform folks at the desk and hope they will remove and destroy that particular mattress. The bathroom was lovely, and it was nice to have such a big desk. Also it was great to have a Sainsbury right across the street.
Could have used more orientation to what was available. I was basically shown the location of my room and that was it. The rest I had to find out on my own. And of course the horrid mattress.

No in-room tea/coffee making facilities

Nice little room perfect for one or two people. Bed was quite comfortable, plug socket just above the bed was handy.
The fan in the room was quite noisy and didn't really cool the room down much, even with the window open it was quite warm.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and very welcoming. The staff were genuinely lovely and made us feel at home right away. We were in town to see AC/DC, and it was a great touch to hear their music playing in reception, it created such a fun atmosphere. The hotel is in a convenient location, with shops and a McDonald’s just across the road. The only downside is that the street leading to McDonald’s felt a bit rough, with litter and broken glass, but that’s outside the hotel’s control. Overall, a great stay!
The street to McDonald’s across the road was quite rough, unclean, and had broken glass, which took away from the otherwise convenient location.

Easy access to public transport, good facilities on the ground floor, room was clean, Sainsbury’s across the street, staff were very friendly
No air con in the room so it was stifling hot, window opened to the main road so it was very noisy (reception gave me a fan but still so hot) the mattress springs were so hard (asked reception to change the mattress which they did very quickly), doors slammed loud in the hallway. No regular cleaning of the room.

It was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was the size of a phone booth. The mattress on the bed felt like sleeping on straw. There was no shelving in the shower stall. There is no TV. There was no air conditioning.

Good location, very modern and warm rooms with a good bus into town. A nice place to come back to each night
Although I didn't use it, there was also a nice big shared kitchen and some coffee/tea facilities downstairs as well as pool tables and good hang out areas. As a bigger group this is an absolute score!
it was also very affordable for fringe time in edinburgh. Staff were very friendly and helpful when asked too.
TBH the actual stay had very few issues and I thought it was great!
However, I think some guidance on things would have been nice. Where to get new toilet paper, shower gel, towels.. etc. when we ran out. Was always a little awkward working it out. Particularly considering we had an 8 day stay and were leaving early and coming back late for fringe stuff! The room was also not serviced at all while we were there which was not explained.
Also there might have been wifi? but it was never explained and I certainly didn't find it. Same thing with checkout, just unclear instructions on that.
We also found the kitchen on our floor on night 5.. which we absolutely would have used to save some money if we knew was available. But again just no one mentioned.
I think tbh all of this might be an artifact of student accom switching to more of a hotel structure for the fringe and certainly didn't ruin our stay! If I come back ill just be aware of it!

Such a clean room en-suite in a new building. Lucky to have a Street Parking Space on the side,a big Sainsbury’s is just opposite the building, and it’s petrol station neighbouring it. For people driving there Cant be more convenient .
No kettle

The staff on reception were really friendly.
I don’t think I have ever stayed anywhere before where I’ve gone to my room and there is no toilet paper in the bathroom! Very basic room for the price.

They changed my room to a quieter place, the courtyard when I explained I couldn't sleep. There's a laundry with washing and drying machine (fee). Tea and coffee provided in the lounge downstairs. Sainsbury's across the road and petrol station. Parking on site during the night for free from 5.30pm. £4/h during the day, maximum 4h. Close to the stadium Murrayfield.
Noise from the roads prevented me from sleeping the 1st night. Mattress quite hard on the edges. The name is actually different from the email and booking.com : Capitol is written on the building while it's called Westfield on the website.
