Small hotel with friendly staff and location to msin Oaxaca markets. Easy access to everything.

My room was reasonably big. Hotel was located close to the main Oaxaca functional rather then tourist markets, it was great to explore the city. At front there is the Mezcal (Oxaca produced spirit with Mezcal only) shop. Excellent mexican breakfast cooked fresh every morning. Very helpful staff, including - idea where to wash my laundery (just 10 meters away from the hotel).

Room had one window that was difficult to open, thus room felt stuffy. Also, in the evening , since the visit waa around the celebration of the day of the Dead, there were loud sound of firework shootings.

Cozy little rooms in the back of a mezcal bar

Amazing local breakfast prepared on spot every morning, daily room service which was very necessary since the room had limited ventilation.

A short stay would be best

The breakfasts here were excellent. Different every day, with freshly squeezed fruit juice. The neighborhood is around 15 minutes away from the Cathedral. There is no AC, but a mobile fan was available.

Unfortunately. a hooker hangout was about 100 meters away. There were no problems with it, but it was not optimum. The room was a bit stuffy with no windows and tended to be a bit hotter than the outside. The shower leaked and there was wetness all over the bathroom and it tended to leak into the room because of the high hanging door.

Industrial pop design, interesting concept with overlay of mescal history and artistic hipness.

No ac. Super loud fan with windows curtains that left the room on open display to people out in the hallway. Or completely closed with no air circulation. Bathroom and shower are together in one tiny room. Bathroom floor appeared dirty in need of a paint or coating. Needs tile!

I couldn't figure out in 3 days where is the reception exactly, or if there's one! Getting in and out of the hotel at late night or early morning was a challenge since the main entrance is kept closed and you don't know who to ask.

Pleasant

Location, mezcaleria, interior design, common areas are all incredibly well done.

We checked in and out outside of normal business hours - so we dealt primarily someone who seemed like a property guard more than a check in person. The room was poorly ventilated and opening the window meant being in loud hallway. Younger crowd / hostel vibes

Very good

The room was nicely decorated, was clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Ello who makes breakfast, was amazing. Everyone was warm and welcoming — they even went out of their way to invite us for Christmas dinner.

The general interior and dining area upstair is very stylish, I really liked the art on the walls. The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were clean and freshly prepared breakfast was delicious!

The rooms on the ground floor are rather dark and the sound isolation was poor (the noise from the corridor/other rooms and music from the bar were clearly audible). During the day the area looks lively, but at night the it feels quite grungy.

location is great. staff although don’t speak English were really helpful and nice. rooms are basic but really cool.

you can hear the neighbours flush their toilet. it was generally quiet but if you had some self absorbed guests staying here at the same time, it could be quite horrible. big F off fan was great, but it was so industrial you couldn’t leave it on overnight as it sounds like a 747 landing at Heathrow. it could really do with ac but fine for cooler months.

Beautiful hostel with a cool vibe, helpful staff, delicious breakfast and on site mezcaleria

The breakfast was incredible, and the staff (one young woman in particular who checked us in and served was breakfast) were so kind, patient and helpful. The mezcaleria that is attached is super cool, too, and very good! The bartender helped us choose some good ones and answered our questions - plus it seemed like a lot of locals hung out there later in the week. They will also call and organize a taxi to the airport for you.

Only complaints would be that with the location being a bit farther out, their system for after dark is to have you knock or call a number (we didn’t have service being from out of the country). It would have been nice if they had some sort of lock or keypad

Very charming, bit "rustic" amenities, slightly off the beaten tourist path, good value

Hospedaje Donaji is inside the Mezcalería Cuish, and quite charming with its mezcal bar (quiet and never rowdy), fig tree in courtyard and charming breakfasts on the top floor (with a little view the Oaxacan mountains).

It should be pointed out that the rooms lack AC (we had a fan which was barely enough in early August but definitely not during proper heat waves), our room lacked a window (not optimal in a beautiful city such as Oaxaca), the overall standard is "rustic" (sockets were few and wonky, bathroom was very basic and lacked warm water - we didn't mind during warm days, more subtle lights would've made the rooms about 3x cosier), and the location is somewhat of the beaten tourist path, which was a positive for us but probably less so for the security-obsessed suburban tourist crowd that seem to be afraid of most things. Nevertheless, a very memorable experience for a very agreeable price!

no air conditioner, water ran out, cold showers, breakfast was bad and kept saying it was a courtesy breakfast. They close the door and you have to knock to get in. they have an armed security guard. clogged sink. The hotel does not have name.

It was very comfortable and relaxing.

The room was very comfortable, it was very quiet so i was able to sleep, the employees there were very helpful and nice. Breakfast was very delicious.

The only thing that i did not like was that there were some very large and medium size roaches in the restroom, i mentioned that to Rosalinda she said that they come up from the shower pipe drainage. Also there were only a very few channels on T.V. Available.

Excellent host, superb breakfasts, quiet location!

A better breakfast you would not have found anywhere! I was there 4 nights, each morning with a unique and exceptionally tasty breakfast. Also, it's on a quiet street and you're just 2 blocks from the major tour agencies. The Zocalo was about a 12 minute walk; not bad at all but I liked the convenience of a booking agency to places like Monte Alban, Tule and Mitla being much closer.

There was just me at the place, but I was only in the room to sleep so it wasn't so bad. Besides, there's a bar in the hotel so I popped over there each night.

Prettig verblijf met zeer behulpzamen mensen

Het personeel/eigenaren waren zeer behulpzaam en lief! Ook het ontbijt was heerlijk en de kamers zijn netjes en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig.

In principe niks al is de locatie misschien niet heel ideaal het voelde niet als de meest veilige omgeving.

Personnel adorable bien pour 2 nuits

La gentillesse du personnel.Malgré mes difficultés à me faire comprendre ils m'ont aidé dès que j'en ai eu besoin et avec beaucoup de gentillesse. J'ai pu profiter de la consigne à bagages qui ferme à clé entre mes trajets en bus. Draps de lits douillets en polar ce qui m'a surpris mais agréable comme il fait froid la nuit. Chambre spacieuse. Terrasse pour le petit déjeuner magnifique. Petit déjeuner local vraiment très bon et complet. 15 minutes de marche et on est au centre ville. Il y a un coffre fort.

Je ne m'attendais pas à la proximité du bar avec la musique. On entend beaucoup dans la chambre même si c'est de la belle musique.. C'est essentiellement a cause de cela que je n'ai pas mis un 8. L'eau chaude de la douche devrait être revue pour qu'il y ait aussi de l'eau froide.

El hotel/mezcaleria está muy céntrico, con acabados lindos y todo muy cuidado. La relación precio calidad es excelente y el desayuno está lo más rico!

La puerta del baño se atoraba un poco y generaba ruido y aunque las ventanas tienen protección, no hay mosquitero por lo que no puedes dejarlas abiertas para refrescar por la noche (tiempo de lluvia/mosquitos cuando fui)

Céntrico y desayuno delicioso

El desayuno fue espectacular! Mis padres disfrutaron mucho su estancia y la facilidad que tuvieron para trasladarse dentro de la ciudad por su ubicación. Fueron muy considerados al ser personas adultas mayores.

La habitación no estaba mucho del agrado, tuvieron que pedir cambio y afortunadamente si lograron.
