A good clean central hotel with lovely staff and good practical facilities. A great first place to stay in Oaxaca.

Hotel Anua is a great place to stay.The rooms face an internal courtyard so you have quiet whilst being right in the midst of a vibrant city. I have stayed in Oaxaca many times and the location is so good. Taco stands and famous markets and raw Oaxaca one side and the central more boujis area on the other. Very safe too. It’s a very well presented 3 star hotel with 5star cleaning and service from staff. The rooms are practical. Good lighting, lots of windows and perfect temperature. Very clean and lots of mirrors. Lots of space to store clothes. The reception staff are some of the kindest I have met in Mexico. Very knowledgable and helpful.

If you want a room with windows to the street these don’t have them. I did not find this as a problem. The shower was a bit sparse - the water did not come out of all the holes but I’m sure this could be fixed easily.

Location Location, Location Plus Parking!

The location near El Mercado 20 de Noviembre was ideal, especially with on-site parking. We were able to walk to dinner, around the zocalo, and were close to pedestrian pathways, which made walking much safer and more enjoyable. Check-in and -out was a breeze. The beds are comfortable and mobil, so you can pull to queens together to make a big bed. Water was comfortably warm. The terrace is beautiful, and we wish we would have spent more time up there.

There is limited shower ventilation, so mosquitos were a small problem. Plus, the bathroom was very small. Anyone taller than 6' might find it extremely uncomfortable to sit on the toilet with the towel rack above and the wall only several feet from the toilet. There is a club nearby, so you can hear the bass of the DJ's music until 3 am. We had a sound machine going, and could still hear it. The pillows may be too big for some people's preferences.

I suspect that my room was the worst they had - for example it was the only one that didn't have a card lock. The air-conditioning was so loud that it was un-usable at night. The room was very small.

It's a basic boutique hotel for those on a budget. I found it to be a good value.

This hotel is very close to the historic center of Oaxaca. The room I was in was perfect for my needs. I wanted a simple room, and I wanted air conditioning (which wasn't necessary this time of year). The entire hotel is clean.

The curtains to the hallway weren't black out curtains, but that's fine. I couldn't get the TV to work, but that's unimportant.

Central hotel near everything

A good hotel near the cathedral. Some rooms don't have windows, but the receptionist on duty changed me to an upstairs room facing a large terrace when I complained. Really great bed, linens, etc. Walking distance to everywhere in the center. Very clean. Water coolers for purified water.

Not much water pressure in the shower, but that may be everywhere in Oaxaca. No drinking glasses in the rooms.

Beliggenheten var fantastisk! Personalet var hyggelig og prisen var god. Det var også en fin takterrassen med utsikt over deler av byen.

Vi var der i slutten av januar/begynnelsen av februar og det var veldig kaldt på rommet. Dusjen hadde veldig dårlig trykk.

Una gran opción en el centro de Oaxaca

Me agrado la excelente ubicación a unas cuadras del centro de Oaxaca, cerca de excelentes restaurantes y del mercado 20 de Noviembre, sus instalaciones son muy buenas con una excelente ambientación. Su servicio de limpieza de cuarto son honestos y hacen un trabajo impecable.

Llegamos en una camioneta grande y es algo difícil poder entrar al estacionamiento ya que su entrada esta bastante reducida, pero su personal fue amable y nos apoyo con checar que no golpeáramos con nada al entrar con el vehículo.
