Location was great. Its a very quirky guesthouse furnished in a unique & interesting style

Unfortunately the stairs were a problem my daughter in law had a fall a couple of days prior to our arrival & it made things difficult for her. Then we had the room on the top level which has the toilet on the floor below the bedroom .

Beautifully restored heritage property. Very comfortable, large and well equipt room. Breakfast was a amazing! Hosts were wonderful; and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Location quite good

No door on the bathroom, lacking privacy and the room was very small for the money charged.

Design is modern, minimalistic, yet comfortable (use of wood). It is an historic place. I even got 2 floors. There are even extra toilets in the hallway.

Other guests came into my room when I left the door open. It is not the owners fault, but these guests were just very curious how my room looked like and thought I was not inside. Fact is, I was upside. Well, I forgive them.

The property is in a good area and the room is clean and comfortable but there are a lot of stairs and no lift. There is a kitchen and dining area which was good to use but tea and coffee in our room would be nice

The bathroom was open to the bedroom with no door. As we were not a couple, this was uncomfortable. The stairs are tough.

The room decor was very different in a cool French style. Bed was comfortable. Shower controls were easy to use. Room was within walking distance of Brussels Central train station and Grand Place.

It's a narrow street that makes noises echo so it's not quiet. The room comes with ear plugs to help with that if you wish to use them.

The room was very quiet. It was very hot during our stay but the fan provided was very good. The property was in walking distance to the main square and there were cafes and restaurants close by.

We had trouble with the shower but the problem was solved once we could contact the owner. The property was quite dark - needs better lighting.

Good clean room with excellent bed. Windows were double pane to minimize street noise. Very good wall heaters. Updated shower. Nice little table and chairs for eating, and an entire kitchen in the basement with all utensils, plates, utensils, frig, stove and coffee maker for use by guests.

Would have preferred a reception person which would not be expensive for the hotel to provide and would assure that guests get into their rooms OK and would be available if any issues arise. Many travelers will not stay at a no-reception hotel, so advise making this change.

I loved how even before we got there our host sent us places that they would recommend. That extra touch was really handy. We loved how the new Cafe she recommended has delicious hot chocolates and food. Also when we decided to stay another night and they were fully booked, they went over and above to find us another place to stay Thank you for above lovely experience.

It wasn't really any issue for us as we are travelling in Spring. However, I did notice how hot our loft/room was throughout our stay. Only grace was the fantastic Dyson Fan that we were able to have directly on our bed. However, I think the heat would be bad during the warm months of Summer.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Providing earplugs for our stay was a nice touch.

However, items that had been listed as being in the room were not there, for example, kettle, coffee and tea making materials. They were available in the kitchen downstairs, but it would have been more convenient to have them in the room.

Terrible communication. I booked for my birthday, gave my card info, then got a payment demand. Calls went unanswered. On arrival, door was locked, had to message via WhatsApp. Paid, but no code or reply. I waited over 2 hours, constantly texting and calling. I was with friends I rarely see, and we wasted our evening standing outside—stressful and embarrassing. Finally got in at 22:30. Wouldn’t recommend unless communication improves.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Whilst there is no longer on-site breakfast there is a kitchen allowing refreshments and beverages to be made day-long and it's easy to buy food locally and eat in the hotel's dining area. The location is good for certain things but like any stay in any big city there can be a long journey to get to other things.

Check in was messy. Payment hadn't been confirmed by the hotel prior to arrival so we'd received no access code. There is no on-site staff so we stood around communicating via WhatsApp until they gave us the details we needed to get in.

The property was well situated for the Brussells Midi station and for the main attractions, most of which were walkable. The building was easy to access and communication with the owner was good. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. There was also a well equiped kitchen and places to sit

I think if we had been a bit younger this property would have suited us better, we walked from the station and the area was initially full of rubbish and people sleeping rough. When we got to the property it is clearly in an up and coming area with shops and cafes but we were the only people staying the first night and it seemed rather dark and lonely now there is no reception. Also we knew there were stairs but it felt an awful long way down to the kitchen (around 68 steps) after a long day on our feet.

Location was great. Entry instructions v detailed and helpful. Room decor was nice.

V few amenities for the price. Nowhere to keep food or drinks cold. No fridge in room or in common area. No coffee or tea in the room or elsewhere in the property. No Ac or fan in the room. It was very stuffy and poorly ventilated. Opening the window helped a bit but that brought extra street noise. Street noise especially on a Friday night was unbearable. I was kept up until 330 am by loud street noise on Friday night. If you want to catch up on sleep during the day, there is a daily reggae party on the street right outside the hotel. The Earplugs provided do not mitigate the noise. Most of the reviews speak about the friendly staff and great breakfast. I encountered no staff at all during a 4 day stay. Breakfast is not available. The host was clear on that but i only found out there was no breakfast AFTER i booked. Nearly all the reviews speak of the breakfast as a major selling feature which leads one to believe it is still served. The term "Bed and Breakfast" should not be applied to this property. Pastries and coffee are available in some cafes in the neighbourhood but none of them within a 4 block radius open before 9 which isnt practical for travellers with morning meetings. i found one 12 minute walk away that was open at 8 but only after a long google search. The toilet had streaks on the walls and bubbling paint and looked in need of a clean. There was only shower gel in the shower and no shampoo or conditioner so bring your own. Plus side lots of hot water in the shower though.

I liked everything. It’s just good to realise that La Maison Haute is now unstaffed. It therefore feels more like renting an apartment then staying in a hotel or guesthouse. Some of the previous reviews mention friendly staff and great breakfast (I was informed prior that there wouldn’t be breakfast service anymore). I’m sorry to have missed those :) overall a great place, great location etc, just not a hotel or guesthouse experience and therefore feels a little pricy.

Great location and very clean. Had everything we needed

Really enjoyed the stay there! Sebastien is a great host, always smiling and asking if everything is ok. He also allowed us to do an early check in, which was perfect for us!!! The Maison is located in a good area, with a lot of bars, pubs, restaurant and it is at 15 minutes walking form the city center. The breakfast was ok, not so diverse, but enough for a morning snack.

There was a particular situation when we were inside the room and 2 cleaning ladies come (for sure with the intention to refresh the room) and without knocking on the door, they just opened the door with a key. For us, it was kind of unconfortable this situation.

Central location. Lovely breakfast, fresh juice, fresh bread and pastries etc. Sebastian was a friendly and helpful host. Quirky vibe - so different from the chain hotels.

Note that duplex room has very steep stairs so no good if there are mobility issues. Book a different room instead. WiFi connection is weak in the duplex as it is at top of house. These minor points didn't spoil our stay.

I want to express our extreme thanks to Sebastien for all he has done to help is in getting back a piece of jewelry stolen while out in Brussels. He had gone above & beyond what he needed to do but clearly values his customers. We have traveled extensively & consider ourselves Street savvy but I think you can never be sure, no matter where you are.

Our room was lovely it had everything you needed. Breakfast was exceptional and the location was fabulous. This place had all the special little touches to make a holiday great. The host Sebastian was very helpful and friendly and we were able to store our luggage on the last time which was very handy.

everything about our stay was great, the location of the guesthouse, the room was bright, comfortable and stylish, great breakfast and friendly staff! will definitely come back when in Brussels.

Spotlessly clean, large room, great location and lovely staff serving breakfast each morning. Really appreciated the recommendations for local restaurants as well.

Only thing to consider is the street is busy so you will need to wear ear plugs at night, not an issue for me and they were provided.

It is clean and close to all the attractions. Everything is within walking distance.

A bit noisy at night. Bc awe had to leave the windows open because it was very hot.

It was a nicely decorated room with all facilities needed. The breakfast was superb. It is located in an excellent area, close to main attractions and cafes/restaurants.

It was too hot in the room, and I couldn't sleep with the sound of the airco or ventilator.

Good clear communication from Sebastian, lovely accommodation.

The weather was hot, but an excellent fan was provided.

The breakfast great....we loved how they offered you a choice for an egg We loved how Sebastian took our bags up to the 3rd floor. The rain shower was awesome....water hot!!!! The soap store was fun to shop in....and than you for the free bar. Thanks for getting us our laundry done Just a great location ...easy walking to the gallery shops, the museums, the church behind us, the chocolate shops.... Thanku again .....vince Licari

Breakfast is really great! I got an accident in Gent. The owners gave us lots help. It’s very comfortable to stay. It’s highly recommended!
