Great location and very comfortable rooms!

The location was excellent and the room and outlook were pleasant. It was great to have a range of English speaking TV channels especially given the Winter Olympics was on. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The lounge area was part of the lobby. The noise transfer from upstairs due to a child thumping around was very audible.

Overall, I was very pleased with my stay.

The location is perfect, just around the train station. The room #510 was small but completely functional for my stay. I liked the breakfast buffet. I wish the breakfast time could be extended to 10:30 AM. Maintenance staff was very responsive to fix a clocked sink and a non functional safe due to the battery.

Due to the cold weather my room was rather cold and the heat did not provide any results. Sometimes the bar area was so full that the hotel guests could not really find a space to sit down around 5:00 - 6:00 PM. May the bar is a popular spot for working people to stop by. To book breakfast the night before!

Didn’t enjoy our stay due to the incompetence of the staff.

Location

The cleaning staff knocked on our room door multiple times without any apparent reason, three times in total (at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30) despite knowing that our checkout time was 12:00 pm. It was clear she was expecting us to leave early so the room could be cleaned. This repeated disturbance disrupted our sleep.

A modern happy-feel hotel in a superb location

Superb location, spacious rooms

No room service The hotel policy that interconnecting rooms are never guaranteed…which is really tricky while travelling with kids. However after calling the hotel, the manager gave us a favour and guaranteed interconnecting.

The switches controlling the lighting was in necessarily complicated. The shower was too small. All hotels in Bern are expensive for what you get. This one is no different.

Best value for money

The staff was amazing. Orlando was always available with a smile and going out of the way to help us. The rooms were good and clean. Had varieties of tea and coffee. There was an option of free drink if we don't go for room cleaning!

The room was bignand nice, but the bathroom was not very easy to use. The shower area has curtains instead of glasses and because of that the entire bathroom was getting wet when we were taking shower.

Overall, the hotel is good and worth the price.

The reception staff, a lady, who helped check-in, was friendly and professional. The bed is comfortable and location is good. The elevator is big comparing to the average size of elevators in Europe. The sound isolation was good.

A reception desk manager-like male employee with glasses saw us waiting in front of the reception desk. He continued to speak to his colleague without greeting us or asking what we need. We just waited in front of the desk with a very young child for about 5 minutes. As soon as he finished talking, he went back to his office without apology. To me, he showed typical arrogance towards asian guests.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was hard and springy and hurt our backs. The uncomfortable bed and heavy street noise were the only negative aspects of the stay

personnel is agreeable and try to help as much as they can

lack of maintenance which is quite infrequent in Switzerland: issue with cleaning (corridors have not been washed since a while), basin in the bathroom needs a plumber, coffee machine loses water and that is not something recent

Wonderful stay

This hotel was in a great location. The room was large and had amenities important to travelers - plenty of outlets and charging ports, large room and bathroom and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was wonderful! We stored our luggage after checkout which was convenient.

Excellent location and room, must stay option in Bern

Location of the property and room size was big. The stuffs were very helpful. The room lighting was excellent.

I haven't take the room clean service which had a free drink, i didn't see the stuffs offered. though I have not specifically asked for the same. While checking out I was expecting the team would actually mention this.

Friendly Staff, Secure Bike Parking, and Great Location

We had a very good stay at NH Bern The Bristol. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, handling the steady stream of guests with efficiency and a smile. The hotel also provided a secure place to park our bicycles inside, which gave us peace of mind during our stay. The beds were very comfortable with soft linens, making for a restful sleep. The location was perfect for walking around Bern, seeing the sights, with plenty of places to eat nearby.

Pleasant

Good location

Please note that my brother disabled and the wheels of the electric hoist could not roll under the main bed because it was too low. So he ended up sleeping on the sofa bed. Please note that the main bed in the wheelchair accessible room needs to be raised significantly in order for an electric hoist wheels to roll under the bed. Please note that the floor in the roll in shower was flat and not slanted towards the drain. Therefore when we gave my brother his shower on a daily basis the water stayed on flat floor surface and I had to use a towel to push the water on the floor towards the drain hole. Please note that you need to change the shower head hose to a round head instead of a horizontal head.

Close proximity to Bern bahnhof. Quirky lobby decor with a bar . Room is big with ample furniture . There was a balcony in my room . Love the water pressure and availability of shampoo , conditioner and shower gel . Other amenities can be requested . Friendly and obligated reception staff .

The shower flooring a bit slippery , need to be careful . Room light quite dim but glad the bathroom light was bright. Mattress and pillows too soft to my liking.

Grateful it was only 1 night!

Location was where I needed it to be.

The streets were closed for a huge fair thing. I only booked a few days before. They knew the streets would be closed and loud, but they neglected to tell us. We couldn't even figure out how to find the hotel because of the closed streets. We would never stay there again.

A lovely hotel at the heart of Old Town!

Excellent location, excellent service, excellent room, and excellent full breakfast!

Had to park a bit away in the Casino garage, but after all this is Old Town Bern! Don’t know how many hotels have on-site parking. Also a little pricey but then all hotels in Switzerland are pricey. But given its location we cannot complain.

Great location, helpful staff, comfortable rooms & beds

The hotel is in a fantastic location near the train station and right in the old town area of Bern. We were able to walk everywhere and catch public transit close to the hotel as well. The staff was very nice & helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our family (2 triple rooms). The hotel is in very good shape & we enjoyed the stay. The bar staff was very nice as well & provided ice for an injury as well as for our cooler to keep our stash of Swiss Chocolate from melting (heat wave issue).

The rooms have AC but it is not like US AC - but the staff brought in a stand up fan to each room to help with the airflow. We stayed during the Euopean Heat Wave in June/July 2025 so this normally would not be an issue.
