The breakfast was amazing everything you could ever think of. Staff friendly and helpful. Pools and spa great. We were upgraded to a sea view roof free of charge lovely views.

Great location, lovely full hot buffet breakfast, nice decor in reception area but tired bedrooms.

Reception area was nicely decorated, great there was parking onsite for €15 for a one night stay and location was amazing. Bed was very comfortable. Great view from the balcony.

Clean and well presented hotel. Ideal location right opposite Benalmadena Marina. A highlight were the staff, who were friendly and helpful. Didn't use their extensive facilities offered, as only stayed one night. Private parking is also available , which is very useful as parking is at a premium in Benalmadena.

Fabulous

Hotel was in a perfect location for us, beside the beach with a lovely promenade for walks. 5 minute walk to the Marina with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast in the hotel was fantastic, plenty of choices to suit everyone.Loved the live cooking station..

Found having to step into the bath to have a shower annoying as the bath was quite deep, thankfully we could manage it ,I gave a score of 9 as a result , but it didn't affect our holiday.overall.

I have been coming to this hotel for over 40 years. That speaks volumes in itself.

I loved my room and the warmth from the staff.

The breakfast buffet could include a few more nuts, gluten free options and fermented products like sourdough.

Nice big rooms and very clean. We had a great room overlooking the pool and beach. Benalarte flamenco group are fabulous.

The bathroom with shower over bath and glass door is a bit awkward for getting in and out.

Another great stay!

Another great stay! We love the location, the pools, the breakfast and especially the hotel team! Tried one of the larger deluxe rooms for the first time and it was huge with a seating area and a large walk-in shower (just be aware that the shower & sink are actually in the room, not separate, at least in the room we had). It also had a large terrace. We loved everything and can't wait to come back!

Perfect break and well catered for

The location is fantastic. Easy walk to the marina, beach, shops. It is very quirky. Loved the pieces of art and lamps they had. Our view was amazing. The entertainment was good and it was nice to know that the pool bar was there at the end of each night. The staff there were excellent- always welcomed you with a smile. They were still smiling when you seen them at breakfast. We only had breakfast but it was very good - great choice and all fresh. Reception were also very helpful.

Only thing was the steps to the plunge pool. There are about 15. The 2nd last step is taller than all the others. I carried my tray of drinks all the way up then tripped. Lots of bruises! However, we watched a few people, including the waitress do the same. Maybe some yellow tape to highlight it would help?

Terrible Stay and won’t be going again.

The location is great and that it’s an adults only hotel.

The hotel are now allowing big groups of male golfers that act like a stag party around the pool bar, we spent only one day by the pool and was completely put off by the rowdy behaviour! We won’t be staying again! It’s a shame, we stay year on year for the last 5 years and was always a couples, adult only hotel.

I asked for a double bed, instead got two singles pushed together and not put together properly. Had to ask reception to sort. Also check-in lady was not very informative, didnt tell us a thing so we had to guess or find out from others

Hotel Alay - return visit

We've stayed previously at the Hotel Alay and returned because our first trip was so good. The hotel is right next to the marina and also close to the bus stops at the top of the road to allow you to explore the local area.

Shame!

To the Disrespectful Management of Hotel LA, I sincerely hope that I will never have to face a situation like this again in my life. This has been a valuable lesson for me — to avoid dealing with scammers like the ones working at your reception. When I approached the front desk with my child and asked whether we could check in — both of us or at least myself — I was simply refused. No one asked for any documents when I mentioned that the hotel had already been paid for. They didn’t ask for my passport, nor my booking confirmation. They just said they couldn’t see any payments in the system because it was down. That was it. They left us stranded in an emergency situation in Spain during a blackout.
