Mac Puerto Marina Benalmádena

Given a room on the top third floor with a pool & sea view - it was fab. The balcony was in the shade but I enjoyed that! All staff (reception, cleaning, maintenance, restaurant, porter ... ALL staff were very friendly, approachable and polite) Breakfast Buffet was fantastic, literally everything you could ask for. Hot and continental, gluten and dairy free, catered for all ages and dietary requirements. Coffees, juices and prosecco! Freshly cooked with an option of indoor or outdoor seating. Coming home to Aircon was a dream and beds were bery comfortable. Great service all round.

Sockets - the socket beside my bed did not work, the bathroom casing of the socket came off while I was using it, leaving an exposed live wire. Easy fixes, easy to work around, nothing big - and I'm sure if I had of asked them, they would have repaired quickly..

The location is excellent, a couple of mins walk to the Marina and shops and the promenade which goes all the way to Torremolinos. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and the staff are fabulous.

We had half board and there was a fabulous selection of starters but the main course options in the evening were disappointing, also a poor selection of vegetarian options and the food was poorly labelled to indicate whether it was suitable for vegetarians. The evening entertainment was not as good as previous year.

Most staff were excellent, but a woman who refills the mini bar kept entering our room on our last morning. Despite us having a red ‘Do not disturb’ sign on the door. This was ignored 3 times. Lots of pressure to vacate the room from early in the morning.

The staff are all superb, extremely friendly and welcoming. It was a pleasure to engage with everyone who worked at the hotel. The hotel is also extremely clean, everywhere is immaculate. Housekeeping kept our bathroom spotless. Breakfast was a great offering with cava too! Evening meal has a large variety but was a little repetitive night on night, the waiters cannot do enough for you though and the bar prices were very fair. The location is absolutely superb.

Our problem sadly was significant, the beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable. They are both very firm and my mattress sloped to the right, I kept rolling to almost falling out! Good sleep is the absolute basic necessity a hotel should provide. We had twin beds and both were very uncomfortable which did spoil our stay, we were more tired when we got home!
