Bed was comfortable

Hotel did not inform me in advance of my arrival that there was an event taking place in town and all roads were blocked and carpark wasn’t accessible until much later in evening. I was travelling for work so asked if breakfast started promptly at 7.30, and was assured it did. I arrived at 7.30 and restaurant did not open until nearly ten minutes later. No food was ready, not even pastries. Was further delayed waiting for the few items they could provide quickly.

Magical weekend in Donegal!

Excellent hotel, but not really suitable for people with restricted mobility.

Spa and facilities

Long walkway to breakfast was not suitable for mobility issues, myself and company had walking sticks and found it difficult to get around, the lifts were also very slow and confusing. We met another couple also who had to get a wheelchair to go to breakfast. The Fara restaurant was not open on the Sunday night and there was a long wait for a table for bar food in the Forge bar, there was no entertainment on the Sunday night. Which was disappointing for guests with restricted mobility.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The hotel overall was very comfy. The front lounge was wonderful for just sitting and relaxing. The food at all the 3 restaurants was tasty. The bartending staff were amazing and friendly.

As a traveler from another country, we didn't realize that you need to bring your own face cloth for washing. That in Europe there is no top sheet on the beds. These aren't things we didn't like about the hotel. Just found them odd. The entrances to the hotel are not clearly marked for people coming from out of town.

Staff were extremely nice

Highly disappointed with the accommodation. Looking at the villa rose online, what I can imagine is that all the images are off the new building. What they dont show you is that the old part of the hotel is totally run down and dated, which is where i was put. Giving the condition of the room I couldn't possibly call it value for money at all.

Definitely went downhill … very average stay!

Have stayed at the property before and it was very good . Very disappointed this time.

Breakfast €15 euro each served to 10:30 am at the weekend . However at 8:30am - 8:45am continental was more less empty , fruit juices were very low and cooked breakfast was poor. No white / black pudding / scrambled egg left and the other containers were very empty. Tables had not been cleared or wiped down. Very poor experience at breakfast .

My stay was highly enjoyable. It’s a warm and friendly hotel with excellent facilities and good food

Breakfast was good. There was a good selection of items for the full breakfast. When checking out, the two young women at reception were extremely friendly and efficient. It’s a level of friendliness you don’t always get in urban hotels.

I was shown to a table near the entrance although there were better tables further down. There was no cutlery on the table. I had to ask for it. The young man I was dealing with was not very clear in getting his message across.

Really enjoyed our stay especially the afternoon tea from the hotel

Riverside walks and the woodland paths beside the hotel..well sign posted though signs needed for the martyrs monument. Plenty of takeaways on hand. The hotel was perfect.

The afternoon tea was very very disappointing The staff in all areas of the hotel were amazing, But in this area the manager i think served us At 2pm on Monday I think she was very very very dismissive and not helpful or pleasant on phone all time I asked 3 times before I booked when I checked in and when I went to check where the room was wat was on the afternoon tea And was told scones etc The 2 scones were like bricks and the size of a fiftypence but they give a huge bowl of jam and a huge of cream it was very strange and Made no sense The stand was 2 plates of desserts n not nice Although I took them to take home we left them in the room It was for wants of better words a silly spread No one was even in the restaurant when we finished We were not impressed as I’d booked it for my husbands birthday

My visit has left me in pain and discomfort since

I am disabled and when we returned to Hotel after night out for dinner the door we came into Hotel with street access by was locked. No one at Hotel answered the telephone at reception. On checkin no one told us avout no access via this entrance at night or we would have returned earlier. We were not afforded that option It was pouring rain and I had to walk down a dark alley with downward hill and ramps to another entrance and thjs caused swelling and discomfort to my sore knee the next morning . No one offered to help with my bags or the door on checkin or checkout even though i use a walking aid.

Had to move rooms due to a roof leak on our first night, not staff problem however. Pillows very hard and slightly uncomfortable, and could hear other customers when trying to sleep.

Great location, needs an update and free spa access within the building

Great location, lovely friendly staff, food in the bar was fantastic.

Room was nice but bathroom needed a bit of a facelift and I was missing my robe/ spa info. Spa was also €15 entry with free entry to the sister hotels spa around the corner. The sister hotel's spa wasn't the cleanest and had older facilities that needed refurb. Also wasn't ideal carrying a wet swimsuit from one hotel to another on a busy main road. Pillows in room were also quite firm and hard to sleep on.
