The room (in an apartment bloc)we had was very well decorated and clean with a shared kitchenette. However we were also able to access the sister hotel The Lawrence where Dave the member of staff couldn't do enough for us. We had tea in the lounge, an evening drink in the bar and paid extra for an amazing 2 course breakfast. The staff were so helpful a d friendly

Not much space in our bedroom for luggage or putting clothes. Tight for two people.

I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights several months through Booking.com which were guaranteed with my credit card. 5 weeks before I messaged about parking and got a reply. The booking was during the first part of the Open Golf held at Port Rush. Londonderry is about an hour away so the overall cost was good. Accommodation prices increased significantly as you got closer to Port Rush. We arrived in Northern Ireland and I phoned ahead to advise our ETA only to be told that our booking had been cancelled months before because they tried to take payment from my Barclaycard and it was declined. We went to Londonderry anyway as a sister hotel said they could provide accommodation but not for the 3 nights we needed. What they offered was a Double Bedroom - we were a party of 4 men and a Twin and at a cost of nearly 4 times the original booking. Luckily we eventually found suitable accommodation (2 twins) albeit at a significant cost and a huge amount of stress and hassle to locate. Booking.com and Barclaycard have both advised me that the Clarence had never attempted to take a payment. I am guessing the Clarence saw an opportunity of charging significantly higher rates and thought that if I turned up they would string me a line about trying to take a payment previously. I am now left with having to sue this hotel for the extra cost and expense of seeking an alternative at the last minute. Don't rely on your booking being there if you turn up despite using a valid credit card to confirm.

The cavalier manner in which they cancelled our rooms without any notice despite the rooms being guaranteed with a barclaycard. Both booking.com and Barclycard have checked they records and at no time did the Hotel try and take payment from my card.

The room was Decorated lovely. It was small and compact. The bathroom was small. The tv was on the same wall as the bed heads so you would have to have eyes in the back of your head to watch tv

We arrived at the property and it was a building site. Scaffold. Broken windows and builder who told is to Go to another location. Lawrence House. They guy at this property said he would take us back to Clarence House and we wouldn't be disappointed as the back of the property had been renovated. We were apprehensive about this but went. The room was nice and cosy and the kitchen area nice but only is in this back entrance and we felt vulnerable as two girls. They guy brought us fresh milk. It said good location. It is but hilly. Only £3.50 in a cab.

The host is very accommodating and nice. Really relaxing, clean, warm and quiet environment! Love the cozy vibes of the house 🩷
