We had a lovely break in Derry

First impression: historic location, beautiful building and decor, very welcoming staff. Lovely, comfortable room - tastefully decorated and restful. Excellent dinner in a cosy dining room with friendly and professional staff.

Exceeded my expectations

Patrick was excellent he was thorough and gave an excellent introduction to the city. All the staff were really friendly the breakfast was excellent and we had a lovely stay.

The temperature in the room was a little bit warm we kept our window open all night and could hear what seemed to be an air conditioning unit at times.

Hotel and the staff were brilliant. Room and bed excellent.

The bar area was poor and uncomfortable. We found that the city as well lacked a comfortable bar with nice relaxed chairs and sofas. We see this in Belfast in The Merchant and others bars and hotels. We would have been much more tempted to stay and drink in the hotel if the bar was more inviting.

Beautifully renovated hotel within the historic city walls

Excellent location inside the walls. Valet parking was easy and efficient. We got upgraded to a penthouse suite with a living room, library and separate bedroom. What a nice surprise on checking in. Staff was extremely friendly and morning included breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Best hotel experience we’ve ever had

Patrick and the staff were outstanding. They went out of their way to take such good care of us and make us feel welcome. They were the most accommodating staff out of any hotel we’ve ever stayed in. We just want to say Thank you again for your kind hospitality. The apartment was comfortable and so lovely. It was conveniently located. We also enjoyed the breakfast selection in the onsite restaurant. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back again someday.

A great location with friendly staff, in a lovely hotel

The location is excellent, very close to everything and Derry is a small city so easy to get around by foot to everything. The staff were wonderful, helpful, charming and friendly. Great communications throughout the stay. The rooms are lovely clean and fresh.

We had a lot of heat and there isn’t any air con and the fans aren’t effective for anything above 20 degrees Celsius. That’s a shame. No fridge in the room, which is unusual too.

Charming 5 star hotel inside the walled city.

Beautiful property in the centre of the old town. Lovely restaurant and bar with well priced food and drinks.

We stayed in an apartment across from the main hotel and the internal heavy doors were held open by wedges which never held, so every time you walked past, the door would swing shut. Just a tad annoying.

The staff definitely make this hotel, nothing is too much trouble. This is our second stay, Kaysi the receptionist is excellent and an asset to the company. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, would definitely recommend. We will definitely return and recommend to our friends.

I liked the friendly staff especially those on reception. The food was excellent and breakfast selection was very good. Room itself was spotless.

I didn't think having to wait an hour and a half for a table for dinner was acceptable especially when it mainly seemed to be because the hotel also caters for non-residents. Reception staff told us we did not need to book as the restaurant always keep a few tables for those actually staying in the hotel but that wasn't the case. Floor of shower was very slippery. There are rubber mats hanging behind the door but no sign to encourage use.

The best thing about this hotel is that it’s staff appear to be well trained. All that we came across were smartly dressed. Polite and friendly while maintaining a professional attitude. Nothing was too much for them.

Beautiful property in the heart of Derry.

Beautiful property in the heart of Derry. We stopped our car out front to unload our bags and walked into reception. It was so easy! The concierge took our keys and parked our car for us in a parking area where the car stayed for two days. It cost 16 Euros per day for the service - which we were very happy to pay. The hotel is gorgeous and so accessible to the many walks, parks, pubs, cafes, etc. The rooms are surprisingly quite modern and very nicely decorated - we were very happy to discover the property also had a lift. The staff were excellent, Donna at breakfast was a standout! On a drizzly day, the concierge loaned us a big umbrella, and we thoroughly enjoyed walking around the walls of the city. I highly recommend this property.
