Udessa Rest Ella

The location is great, very near to the center and in the jungle at the same time. We could see a lot of animals from the balcony, and you hear a lot of birds in the morning. The owners are very friendly and helpful (they have their own tuktuk/taxi service with good prices).

Unfortunately, the hosts only did the bare minimum. They do not speak English, which is fine, but they also did not make much effort to help. I asked if they could order a taxi for me to get to the train station, which they forgot, and in the end they had to ask a neighbour to drive me on short notice. Because of a dietary restriction, I asked them to leave one item out of the breakfast and replace it with something else. They only left it out, so the breakfast ended up being very small and I had to eat out instead. I also forgot my headphones at the accommodation. They confirmed that they had them, but when I asked if they could arrange sending them to me (of course at my expense), they stopped responding to my messages. Overall, I did not feel very welcome. The shower was also problematic: the water was extremely hot — so hot that I couldn’t shower without risking burns and had to use only cold water.
