Mithun Homestay Ella

I have been travelling Asia for 3 months now, and this is the best homestay I have ever stayed at! Great location, is a short 10/15 walk to the main town but there are a few bars and restaurants on the way. Closest is only 2 minutes away and has a unreal view. The room was lovely, clean, and spacious. Had a fridge and filtered water. There was a private outdoor seating area with tables and sofa, that’s covered incase of rain and a prefect spot to listen and watch the wildlife. Great private parking for tuktuk or scooter. The last and most important thing I would like to say about this property is that the host was absolutely fantastic and really made our time in Ella (and Sri Lanka) so special! Hansi really couldn’t have done enough! She was so helpful with all our needs, made us food at different times of the day, give us fruit from garden, did our laundry, booked us tuktuks when needed, give lots of good advice and recommendation, and even explained some of the wildlife to us💗 She was so friendly and reassuring and she genuinely cares about her guests. She checked in on us often and responded very quickly to any questions we asked over text too. We asked where we could buy the jam she served us at breakfast and she went out of her way to give us one of her own to take with us (‘: Hansi truly was one of a kind and anyone would be luck to stay with her and her family- we can’t wait to return one day

I don’t say this often - nothing. Just wish we could have spent more time here!

Such a beautiful homestay. Hansi treated us like family. The room is clean, comfy bed, great hot water and pressure, great wifi, everything you need. The location of Mithun is perfect if you want to stay in a quiet place a short walk from the main town. You are surrounded by tropical gardens and incredible views, such a clean and friendly neighbourhood. Hansi’s breakfasts were wonderful, so much and incredible variety. Thank you for everything Hansi.

A very lovely, caring host, helping out with anything you need to make your stay a great experience. Delicious breakfast, tidy, clean and comfortable room as well as a quiet, private balcony.
