Very friendly and helpful host — owner kindly picked me up from the train station and dropped me at the bus station. Nice home-cooked breakfast included. The location is good, just a short walk down the slope to the town center.”

It’s the perfect location and has a lovely balcony. Just a little walk from the main road and all the restaurants but without the noice of the cars. The owners where the sweetest people and really made me feel at home as a solo female traveler. We talked during breakfast about their lives, kids and living in Ella. Really had an amazing stay. They also do cooking classes!

A family owned homestay with a super super nice couple. They help you as much as possible with recommendations or just bringing you with the Tuktuk to the place you have to go.
Very clean room, comfy beds and perfect location close to all restaurants, bars or tourist attractions.
Basic but very good breakfast: Homemade pancakes with bananas and nice tea/coffee.
Plus: They have a very cute dog!
Sometimes the water pressure was not ideal, it changes during the day. But as far as we experienced, this is a common „problem“ in Sri Lanka. So nothing to worry about.

The family was nice and tried to help us with our questions.
We were really disappointed and don’t know where the good reviews come from… the room had mold and once we only had cold water and one day there was no water at all. They fixed it but still uncomfortable. Even it’s cheap, we would recommend to spend a bit more and go to another place.
