A great place to stay along the Eifelsteig

The hotel is beautifully located in the nature, with a great view over Burg Rammstein and the forest. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, we slept like babies :-) The food was delicious (both dinner and breakfast) and the owners were friendly and gave us good tips for our walk on the Eifelsteig.

Peaceful 'family vibe' stay in a lovely hotel with great 'home cooked' meals in the evening !

In the past few days I spent 3 nights in this lovely hotel, together with 2 friends. We each had our own room which was pefrectly in line with what we booked. The owners, Jeroen and Annetta, were very hospitable and friendly. They made us feel welcome and helped us out with every request or question we had. The location of the hotel is just perfect - very quiet, overlooking a valley and just 50 meters away from the ruins of Burg Ramstein. If you come here to walk / hike, you are in the right spot. What was really great was the cooking done by Jeroen. We had dinner in the hotel on two evenings and the food was amazing ! Mind you, there is no à la carte dining, there is a predetermined menu and you can simply opt in or opt out. We highly recommend to opt in though, the food was just great. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a beautiful and quiet location and great food in the evening. If you want to visit Trier, know that it is only 10 minutes away by car. This time I was on my motorbike with two friends but each of us said that we would come back with our respective wives for some further relaxing here ! (Oh and BTW: next to the hotel you will find 5 charging poles with two connectors each to charge your electric car should you have one)

Great place to stay in a beautiful area .

Location is perfect , in quiet forest surrounding with view on the Ramstein castle ruin. Comfortable room, good bed and shower. Good coffees which are free of charge , and a lovely garden to sit in. Good dinner and breakfast.

Nice hotel in a great location

This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful and peaceful setting, perfect for hiking and exploring the surrounding nature. The road leading to the hotel is a bit narrow and bumpy, but it’s absolutely worth the drive. The hotel manager was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was decent and satisfying. Also, it’s conveniently close to Trier, which makes it a great base for visiting the city.

We slept very well and enjoyed the scenery and breakfast outside in very remote historic location.

Great location far away from traffic, plenty parking spaces available. Love the concept of “herb hotel”, indeed their garden had plenty of beautiful herbs. Breakfast was outside on terrace with fresh air and view of the castle and trees. Bed was super comfortable, great mattress.

Would have appreciated some soap and/or shower gel for the price. Had more service with lesser pay in other places… We hiked the eifelsteig with heavy luggage and didn’t bring soap or shampoo which is normally provided airbnb’s, guess we are a bit spoiled… so - bring you own!

Location is great. Breakfast is ok.

Sorry but I did not give such a poor review before. I do want to be direct and be open. I want to stress on 2 points based on my experience. Not well organised( towels and napkins were missing in the rooms). They mentioned they shall say instructions only once then I thought very well organised but we found the rooms are not ready I'm terms of towels and napkins. Staff were unfriendly. That I disliked the words they said to me and I made them clear that those words I found were offensive to me. I hope they will be friendly with next customers

Excellent location for a peaceful or adventurous stay.

The hotel was situated about 30 minutes walk from Kordel which had a regular and quick train service into Trier. The location of the hotel is scenic with panoramic views towards the castle and forest. Access to walking routes is excellent. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The terrace for breakfast, dinner and drinks overlooked the garden. Breakfast was plentiful - the home made jam was excellent. An evening meal could be booked and we would recommend. The Wi-Fi worked well in our room and on the terrace. The hosts were very pleasant and extremely helpful. Finally, if you needed to charge your car there were facilities for up to ten vehicles.

Superb location if you like quite. Multiple EV points available and working well. Very warm welcome by Jeroen & Annita who also provided all possible support during our stay. Jeroen prepared every night except Sunday a very tasty meal. Thanks!

Die Lage des Hotels zum Wandern perfekt. Man kann direkt starten.

Das Zimmer war bei Ankunft abends recht kalt. Auch wenn Bio und regionale Speisen verwendet werden fanden wir den Preis für das Abendessen etwas zu hoch. Der Vorteil für das Hotel...Es gibt weit und breit nix anderes.

Parfait en famille, pour un très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Magnifique environnement. Il fait très calme, l'accueil de Madame Vontenie a été très chaleureux. La chambre a vite été réchauffée par le radiateur. Tout est propre. Le petit-déjeuner a été très apprécié par la famille: le buffet n'est pas immense, mais les produits sont de bonne qualité. J'ai apprécié les oeufs cuits durs, encore un peu chaud, dont la cuisson était parfaite. Très bon petit déjeuner. Tout la famille y retournerait... Je recommande!!!

Il faut juste savoir que c'est un peu loin du centre de Trêves: 15km, alors que Booking mentionnait moins de km. Des "oeufs sur le plat", ou un bain-marie électrique pour cuire les oeufs serait un must.

Sehr professionelles Vermieterpaar. Das Hotel liegt malerisch unterhalb der Burgruine und wir hatten das Glück, ein Zimmer mit Burgblick zu bekommen. Das Frühstück war sehr vielfältig und es wurde immer wieder aufgefüllt. Besondere Überraschung dabei war der weihnachtliche Frühstückskuchen. Die Kaffeemaschine stand für die Gäste zur freien Verfügung bereit, so dass alle Gäste ihre bevorzugte Kaffeespezialität genießen konnten. Der Kräutergarten lässt erahnen, wie schön es im Frühjahr / Sommer sein wird.

Gastvrij onthaal in kleinschalig hotel op toplocatie in de bossen.

Heel vriendelijke en gastvrije hosts met veel persoonlijke aandacht. Prachtige ligging midden in het bos naast de burchtruïne, geweldig wandelgebied aan de Eifelsteig. Prima avondmaal op inschrijving. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet.

De locatie is wat verder van de bewoonde wereld maar daardoor fantastisch. De kamers zijn prima en het eten wordt met veel passie klaar gemaakt. Alles is te overleggen.

Verrassend, prettig en in een stijlvolle oase van rust. Absolute aanrader!

De kamer was schoon, zeer ruim en stijlvol ingericht. Het ontbijt was evenals het voortreffelijk diner ruim voldoende en voldeed geheel aan in ieder geval onze verwachting. Het prachtige pand, gesitueerd op een steenworp afstand van de Ramstein (niet van die geweldige duitse hardrock band) burcht ligt prachtig gelegen in het groen op +-20km. van het fraaie historische Trier.

Et fantastisk sted.

Nærmest alt kunne vi lide, fantastiske værtsfolk - de var nærværende og gjorde alt for at opholdet skulle blive godt. Tog individuelle hensyn med et smil. Rigtig dejlig mad, både morgen og aften. Omgivelserne er enestående, krydderurtehaven på terrassen sender selv her i efteråret en liftlig duft som velkomst.

Wir hatten das Familienzimmer, quasi eine kleine Ferienwohnung. Sie ist ausreichend, aber minimalistisch ausgestattet. Die Sauberkeit war nicht ganz optimal: Haare auf dem Nachttisch, Fußmatte nicht abgesaugt.

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt und ich würde wieder kommen.

Außer der sehr holprigen Wegstrecke dorthin liegt das Hotel sehr schön in freier Natur neben der Burg Ramstein . Die Wirtsleute sind sehr nett und aufmerksam. Bei schönem Wetter kann man herrlich draußen sitzen, evtl wäre ein " seperater Aufenthaltsraum " für drinnen noch ganz nett, da die Wirtsleute gegen 21.00 den Frühstücksraum zumachen, dann bekommt man auch keine Getränke mehr. Ansonsten war alles gut, auch das Frühstück war gut, kleinere Auswahl, aber viele Bioprodukte

Een aanrader voor de rustzoeker en natuurliefhebber!

Prachtig hotel, geweldige locatie, wel echt voor rustzoekers. Aandachtige eigenaren. Goede bedden en goed ontbijt.

De weg ernaartoe is een beetje een uitdaging maar voor ons geen probleem. Is smal weggetje met slecht wegdek en met een haarspeldbocht. Maar de bestemming is zeker de moeite waard!
