Great hotel but breakfast leaves room for improvement

Hotel is in a brilliant location. Lovely and quiet, but just a short stroll away from the old town with its many bars and restaurants. We loved the pool area and often had it to ourselves. No music blasting out, no kids, no inflatables. A great place to relax in the sun with a good book. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was very quiet and we never heard any noise from guests in other rooms. As a couple, we had a room that slept 3 because it had lots of extra space, which was great for storing our luggage. The bed was comfortable and I slept better than I do at home. Our balcony stood on its own (ie no adjoining balconies) and we had a great view of the mountains.

On arrival, we realised the fridge/mini bar in our room didn't work. We don't use the mini bar, but we always stock up with water from the supermarket, and so a working fridge/mini bar is crucial. In temperatures of 35 degrees plus, chilled water is essential. I flagged this problem up with the staff immediately, and after reporting it to 4 different members of staff, we were eventually given a different fridge, nearly 48 hours after we had arrived. We felt the breakfast really let the hotel down, and it would make us think twice about returning to this hotel. There was an extremely limited choice, and it certainly didn't match our previous experience of 3* continental breakfasts in Europe. There was only one fresh fruit available (watermelon), which seems such a missed opportunity when Italy has an abundance of fresh fruit. We obviously didn't expect a full cooked breakfast, but the only hot offerings were scrambled eggs and fried prosciutto (and both in short supply). The choice of an omelette would have been nice! It's a shame as the breakfast area is in the shade, surrounded by olive trees, with classical music playing. If the food had matched the setting, it would have been the perfect start to the day.

We will for sure come back

The hotel has a very delicious breakfast and is very clean. The staff is amazing, always ready to help. Although the hotel is only within 5 minute walking distance to the town centre, it also has a big spacious garden, which was ideal for our dog, who travelled with us.

Basic hotel was good for 1 night

The property was basic we stayed for 1 night which was good enough for the length of time we stayed.

Nothing, just very basic, the pool is situated in a the rear of the property. So having to walk out the main entrance to get to the pool.

A gorgeous hotel with everything you could want

We could not have had a better stay in Catullo, the hosts were so attentive, get very friendly and gave us such a warm welcome to Malcesine. The hotel is ideally located only 3 minute walk in to the old town, with a great pool and amazing views over the lake. We could sit on our balcony all day and look at that view! Room was also very clean on arrival and beds were made everyday. Great selection at breakfast in the mornings and if you stay, make sure you say hello to the hotel cat Chicquitita, who lives outside and always was there to greet us hello when we were back from our dinner. One of the best places we have stayed in Italy and would come back in a heartbeat if we had the chance.

Awesome hotel with awesome stuff!!

Loved the location and especially the breakfast out on the terrace! The stuff was so nice and made me feel comfortable, especially because they met all your needs! I also enjoyed that the hotel was a little smaller just because the pool was not packed, it was more relaxin, quieter and the stuff was able to focus on ecery guest

It was alright if you don’t mind the short breakfast time and semi-broken AC

Great location, walking distance to city center, on site parking was convenient.

Breakfast was included, but only between 08:00 to 09:30. For those who are paragliding, it was too late, for those who are on holiday, you can’t sleep in. AC doesn’t work properly, it needs frequent reset, traveling in summer is a major issue. We were there at the beginning of June, when AC doesn’t work in 30+ degrees, it really was not great. There is no hospitality service on site other than the 1.5 hours of breakfast. Parking space was assigned but it was regulated at all, the parking space that was assigned to be was constantly occupied and I had to find alternatives.

Exceptional

when we first walked into this hotel we were welcomed by the hosts and they were such lovely friendly people. we felt so welcome from the start. they’d never pass you by without a quick chat or a good joke with the boss man (never caught his m name). The hotel sits in a perfect location just up the road from the old town. Although it’s close to the old town it’s set in its own peaceful location with a fantastic view of Monte Baldo. Breakfast was plentiful with all you need to start your day. Hotel is spotless throughout and the pool area is a well kept tranquil area just to chill out, there’s also a gym but I personally don’t bother with it on holiday. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to spend time in Malcesine.

Superb

The hosts were very friendly and helpful with local information as well as allowing late checkout after a local marathon. Perfect location within easy walking distance of the town centre. We would definitely stay again.

comfortable hotel in excellent location

Having stayed in this hotel a number of years ago we returned because of its central location. The hotel sits within a lovely garden with olive trees, a pool, jacuzzi and has gym facilities and is within a few minutes walk of the town centre. Rooms, although small, have been recently refurbished and are spotlessly clean with good air conditioning. The hotel arranged an airport transfer for us. Covid procedures were strictly adhered to with hand sanitiser available and a requirement to wear face mask indoors. Hotel is adjacent to the Mount Baldo cable car and we recommend you book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Bikes can also be rented in the bike shop beside the cable car for a reasonable 15 euro a day and there is a nice off road cycle along the lake down to Brenzone. Our favourite restaurants in Malceisne were Al Bacio which is in Hotel Castello (fab food and view with friendly staff), the Restaurant in Hotel Alpino (good value and good food) and Al Gondoliere.

our room had 2 single beds pushed together instead of a double but this might have been our fault for not specifying a double bed.

Perfect and we will return.

The view from the room was fantastic looking out at the lake and Dolomites. The breakfast was good and varied over the week we were there. The hotel was in an excellent location for the centre of Malcesine and a stone's throw from the cable car. The pool was lovely and for fitness fans, the indoor gym was well equipped- highly recommend this hotel.

Sehr schöne Pool Anlage, sowie die Lage generell war wirklich super und das Personal war überaus freundlich!

Das Frühstück war für meinen Geschmack ein wenig zu eintönig, leider auch sehr wenig Obst und das Bad war sehr klein (direkt vor der Toilette war das Waschbecken, wo eigentlich die Beine hin sollten) und die Sauberkeit im Bad hätte etwas besser sein können.

Ruhiges Hotel in zentraler Lage.

Sehr zentrale Lage im schönen Olivenhain. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt mit unserem kleinen Hund. Wir werden dieses Hotel wieder buchen, wenn wir Malcesine besuchen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Vielen Dank nochmals an dieser Stelle. Den Pool haben wir in der Kürze der Zeit zwar nicht genutzt. Er ist wunderschön und man findet bestimmt Ruhe, wenn man sie nach einem aufregenden Tag braucht.

Einfach Perfekt

Ein kleines Familienhotel mit sehr schöner Außenanlage. Frühstück kann man im Freien genießen. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön und alles sauber. Der Pool ist superschön. Parkplatz im Schatten. Alles super. Wir waren schon 2x hier und haben schon für nächstes Jahr gebucht.Die Lage ist top.Ruhig gelegen und trotzdem ist man in 5 Minuten an der Monte Baldo Station oder in der Altstadt.

Das der Urlaub jedes Jahr zu kurz ist.

Ein schöner erholsamer Urlaub im Hotel in sehr guter Lage.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Ein sehr gepflegtes familiengeführtes Hotel. Alle waren stets sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Wir haben während unseres Aufenthalts das Frühstück als nicht ganz so gut empfunden. Es war sicher für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Doch nach unserem Geschmack war das Frühstück einfach gehalten mit wenig Abwechslung. Wir hätten uns ein wenig mehr Abwechslung gewünscht. Jedoch sind wir immer satt geworden.

Loistava moderni hotelli Malcesinessa keskeisellä sijainnilla, bonuksena uima-allas

Erinomainen pieni hotelli, jossa on hyvin siistit modernit huoneet, mahtava suojaisa puutarha, hyvät parkkipaikat sekä bonuksena kiva uima-allasalue. Loistava buffet-aamiainen ja supermukava henkilökunta. Sijainti avain Monte Baldon funikulaarin vieressä ja hyvin lähellä suosittua turstikeskustaa (kaupat, nähtävyydet, ravintolat..). Vietin hotellissa 7 yötä, suosittelen lämpimästi! Tulisin ehdottomasti uudelleen!

Bei einem Zimmerpreis von über 300 Euro stimmte das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht!

Die Lage war sehr gut, in mitten von Olivenbäumen. Angenehm war die Parkplatzsituation, da man einen festen Parkplatz zugewiesen bekam. Die Altstadt war fußläufig sehr gut und schnell zu erreichen. Der Blick von der Terrasse zum See war sehr schön.

Die Fühstückszeit war von 8 Uhr bis 9.30 Uhr. Wir hätten uns die Zeit bis 10 Uhr gewünscht! Wenn wir um 9 Uhr gefrühstückt haben, war das Angebot sehr eingeschränkt. Das Zimmer und das Badezimmer war sehr klein.und es gab in der Dusche keine Duschlotion, sondern nur am Waschbecken.

Wir haben uns trotzdem sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wir hatten die Suite mit Küche gebucht, die ziemlich neu, groß und geräumig ist. Fernseher in Wohn- und Schlafzimmer. Direkt neben dem Pool. Zur Altstadt nur wenige Meter. Die Seilbahn ist auch direkt nebenan. Es ist sehr ruhig trotz der Nähe zur Straße/ Altstadt/ Seilbahn. Wir konnten unser Auto direkt bei den Suiten parken.

Die Küchenutensilien sind sehr rar, falls man kochen will. Schneidebrett, Wasserkocher, Parmesanreibe fehlten. Dafür 2 Kaffeemaschinen ( Kapsel, Filter) Nur 1 Topf. Bei Nachfrage wurde uns ein Schneidebrett gegeben. Das Frühstück fällt sehr mager aus. Da ist viel Luft nach oben. Dafür ist der Kaffee hervorragend. Preis/ Leistung passte nicht.

Familiär geführtes kleines Hotel. Direkt an Altstadt und Seilbahn, aber trotzdem ruhig. Malcesine hat ein herrliche Altstadt. Schattiger Parkplatz am Hotel.

Schade, dass wir nicht länger gebucht hatten. Waren auf Rundreise mit mehreren Stationen.

Sehr schönes familiäres Hotel in super Lage.

Die Zimmer waren groß und hatten einen großen Balkon. Die Klimanalage wurde auf Wunsch zu bestimmten Zeiten ein- und ausgeschaltet. Das Frühstück war super auf der Terrasse im Freien. Es war alles da, was man braucht. Es gab einen schönen Fitnessraum und einen wunderschönen Außenpool. Es war sehr angenehm, diesen nach einem Tagesausflug noch für ein paar Stunden nutzen zu können. Ebenso war es schön, dass man sich an der Bar jederzeit Getränke holen konnte. Der Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück war perfekt. Das Hotel ist schön ruhig gelegen obwohl es in unmittelbarer Nähe der Gondelbahn zum Monte Baldo und zum Zentrum liegt.

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.

Rundum empfehlenswertes Hotel in super Lage

Die Außenanlage ist wirklich schön, auch die Frühstücksterrasse. Die Nähe zum Zentrum und zum See. Die Poolanlage. Der Ausblick auf den See und die Burg von unserem Zimmer aus. Die Außenjalousien im Zimmer. Die Inhaber sind außerordentlich freundlich, unser Sonderwunsch (früheres Frühstück am Abreisetag) wurde problemlos erfüllt.

Unser Bad hatte nur einen Haken zum Aufhängen von Handtüchern u..ä. Für zwei Personen absolut zu wenig.

Die Lage des Hotels, der Parkplatz unter Olivenbäumen und der Pool waren sehr gut. Personal war sehr nett. Zimmer war sauber und der Ausblick auf das Castello sensationell.

Das Frühstück war übersichtlich. Zimmer sehr klein, ebenso der Fernseher. Es gab keine Nachttischlampen. Da in dem kleinen Bad noch ein Bidet verbaut war, blieb für die Toilette so wenig Platz, dass man diagonal darauf sitzen musste.

Super Lage, zentral, aber doch ruhig. Sehr gute gedämmte Zimmer, Zimmer lassen sich auch gut abdunkeln. Das Zimmer war auch sehr sauber. Super Parkplatz unter Olivenbäumen. Die Pool Anlage ist schön. Frühstück war für italienische Verhältnisse gut. Ein bisschen mehr Abwechslung wäre aber super gewesen. Das Personal ist sehr nett.

Ein zweiter Mülleimer im Zimmer wäre super gewesen, es war nur ein Mülleimer im Badezimmer vorhanden. Es wäre auch besser, wenn man die Klimaanlage selbst steuern könnte.

Zentral gelegen mit einem schönem Pool

Größeres Areal mit Auslauf. Der Pool war sehr schön, auch die Parkplätze sind dort im Gegensatz zu anderen Hotels gut gelöst. Die Aussicht an sich aus dem Zimmer war schön. Der Fitnessbereich war nett. Kühlschrank im Zimmer.

Das Zimmer: Der Balkon ist sehr klein. Allerdings muss man sagen, dass es auf den Bildern ansatzweise aufgezeigt wurde. Wir konnten das erst einschätzen, nachdem wir es live gesehen haben. 2 Stühle nebeneinander gestellt. Normalerweise lieben wir es abends auf dem Balkon zu sitzen. Hier haben wir ihn kaum genutzt. Das Bad ist feuerrot (Was eher retro witzig war) aber relativ beengt. 2 Beispiele WC mit Spezialform und Brille unten bräunlich: Gerade auf dem WC sitzen, war für mich nicht drin. Knie zu lang bei 1,75m. Der Spiegelschrank ragt zur Hälfte ins Waschbecken. Beim vorgehen ans Waschbecken zig mal den Kopf angedetscht. Was wir auch unterschätzt hatten, war die offene Lagerung der Kleidung. Es gibt keinen Schrank, Aber das wird auf den Bildern gezeigt. Ablagen gibt es wenige. Die vorhandenen Schränke sind weitgehend mit den Winterdecken belegt. Nachtischlampe Bett - Fehlanzeige. Es gab nur eine Deckenleuchte, oder das Badezimmerlicht.

Krásný hotel na strategickém místě

Krásné klidné prostředí mezi olivovníky. Personál byl velmi milý a ochotný, cítili jsme se tu velmi vítáni. Prostředí bylo příjemné, ocenili jsme celodenní přístup k bazénu se slanou vodou. Hotel je 5 min od starého města/centra, má soukromé parkoviště s dostatkem místa. Hned nad hotelem, asi minutu chůze se nachází lanovka na Monte Baldo. Za mě je hotel na velmi strategickém místě - s výhledem na hory, v centru dění a zároveň je to klidné, útulné prostředí schované před ruchem města. 100% doporučujeme.

Frühstück gut. Auf Wunsch täglich Spiegelei. Getränke auch tagsüber zu bekommen. Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer. Exzellente ruhige Lage. Zentrum gut fußläufig erreichbar. Fest zugeordneter Parkplatz. Sehr freundliche Inhaberfamilie und Mitarbeiter. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die zugewandten Gespräche und Informationen zu Ort und Umgebung .
