Great Balinese Experience

The villa with private pool was spacious, clean and provided for a true Balinese experience. We had a great view from our private pool. Staff was friendly and attentive. The properties’ setting is excellent. We enjoyed great couples’ massages in the spa. We leveraged offerings from their sister property (restaurant, yoga classes) via their complimentary shuttle.

Kitchen was a little slow. Limited local (Indonesian/Balinese) breakfast dish options. Given the property is on an escarpment, there were more pathways and stairs to navigate then expected but it was very manageable.

Luxurious stay in Ubud jungle

The staff is extremely professional, cheerful, efficient and very kind. The Balinese massage at the spa is gorgeous ! Great breakfast with many choices. In-room service is easy and quick. We expected to have many more mosquitoes than we actually did—we had a direct, beautiful view of the Ubud jungle! The pool is even big enough for swimming and has a stunning view. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the town center several times a day. Drivers for any tours are quickly organised. Amazing stay, thank you for everything, and congratulations on your hotel.

Reasonably priced additional services (massage, room service, food in the restaurant). Location within walking distance of the city center Ubud (ca 2km). Hotel free transfer daily from and to hotel to center of Ubud. Large grocery store nearby (Bintang Market). Highly recommended! Best greetings to the all Pita Maha Resort & Spa stuff! Absolutely outstanding stay at Pita Maha Resort&Spa

I usually don’t leave reviews until I leave but Pita Maha Resort&Spa it’s so, so lovely that I feel like saying a few words while still enjoying my stay here. Location: 20 mins walk to central Ubud. Some might find it challenging due to the poor pavement and coming back it’s up the hill. The hotel offers free shuttle to town and back tho but never used it myself. Market next door to the hotel and loads of shops and warungs within 5 minutes walking distance. Hotel and grounds: Wow! It’s like you are in a botanical garden. Everything it’s absolutely immaculate. Amazing landscaping and loads of wildlife around. Gorgeous views and very quiet to just enjoy the silence, the birds and the river. Staff: I’ve never met more polite, courteous and professional hotel staff. Everyone is so lovely and they all make you feel welcome and relaxed. A fabulous 10/10 for all their service. Thank you! Room: valley view suite - lovely decorated with amazing views. A big room, nice bath/shower and lovely smelling toiletries. Very good, quiet and efficient AC. Cleaning to a very high standard. Restaurant: again amazing views and very lovely staff. Delicious and very nicely presented dishes. Top class dining experience. Spa: had a balinese massage and I have to say that it was the best massage ever. Lovely location overlooking the valley, very polite and attentive staff. Pool: calm and relaxed with gorgeous views. Open 24 hours a day so you can have a swim anytime you want. Pool service till 6PM and as everywhere in the hotel the staff it’s amazing. Overall, had an outstanding experience at Pita Maha Resort&Spa! I would return here in a heartbeat. Many thanks to all the staff who made my stay here such an enjoyable and unforgettable experience! Spectacularly located grand resort with highly attentive and friendly staff.

Set in an amazing location with spectacular views. We were very impressed by the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.

My only minor issue was that the air conditioner in our room could have been colder. This didn’t disrupt our stay however.

The Venue itself is just gorgeous, authentically beautiful Balinese design throughout and quality all the way. Expansive room/villa size, both inside and out, very well maintained lush gardens everywhere, gorgeous views at every turn, spotlessly clean and tidy, EVERYWHERE. Multiple places to eat their daily changing menu's, attentive and professional staff all the way!

That we couldn't stay longer, but are already planning g our next stay with the rest of our family!

Best place to stay in Kuta !

The staff are outstanding. The roof top breakfast service and food was amazing Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to extend our stay and the staff and management were nothing short of brilliant. Amazing service and considerate assistance from the General Manager and staff of Pita Maha. Even when the hotel was fully booked, the GM personally handled my request to extend my stay and offered me a solution. The room was beautifully decorated and the service was diligent. Staff are always smiling and trying to be helpful.

Beautiful view, friendly staff, poor facilities, overpriced extras.

The villa has several highlights — the staff were very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was enjoyable, and the infinity pool offered a beautiful view of the valley. The property is nicely nestled among trees, creating a peaceful atmosphere, and room service was a convenient touch.

The overall experience was disappointing compared to expectations. • Bedding was not properly arranged, and no flat sheet was provided. • Insects were a concern — no mosquito repellent on the ground floor, and the mosquito net was ineffective. • The restaurant was average for the price: presentation was appealing, but the food lacked authentic Indonesian flavors. • Showers had very poor water pressure due to blocked shower heads. • The property is not close to town, which can be inconvenient. • No room freshener was provided. • The villa is not disability-friendly; the stairs can be difficult to manage. • Internet connectivity was very poor, frequently dropping or unavailable across the villa. • Massage and photoshoot services were highly overpriced. • No gym facilities are available. Overall, this is a beautiful property with friendly staff, but the experience falls short of expectations at its current price point.

A superb stay

A very relaxing stay at an excellent resort. The staff were all friendly and helpful and very diligent. Management were pro-active and interacted with guests. Stayed in two types of rooms - the modern valley suite which was comfortable and well-equipped and then upgraded to a pool villa on the final night. The pool villa was great and private - it was showing some signs of age, and the air conditioning worked less well, but nothing major. Breakfast was decent, with a rotating menu of a la carte options. Dinner was also reasonable, with a decent range of options, though there are other good (and cheaper) eating options nearby. Complimentary afternoon tea is offered.

It's difficult to find fault. However, the lack of gym facilities is disappointing in a resort of this size. Wifi was sometimes patchy in the bar/lounge area and the pool villa.

Beautiful Resort

The Pita Maha is in a good location near some excellent restaurants like Mosaic and Room4Dessert, the Neka art gallery, and shops. It is a comfortable walk (once you know the correct backstreet) to Alchemy Yoga and other studios. The pool and villas are first class.

The restaurant and coffee are not to the same standard as the resort. The breakfast is okay but nothing special, dinner is average. FYI The coffee up the street at Ame Bistro is exceptional.

The pool and the views are incredible. We stayed there for a couple of days and if there was one thing that stood out it was this.

If the AC is not turned on, the villa with the 500-series numbers becomes uncomfortably humid and nearly unbearable. At first glance, the cleanliness appears adequate, but a closer inspection reveals that the complex architecture makes certain areas difficult to access and clean thoroughly.

Excellent stay with incredible staff, food and views.

Staff at Pita Maha are incredible. They make it their mission to welcome you, ensure your stay is exceptional and connect. It has a strong family vibe and is very welcoming for both couples and families with children. We were travelling as a family - as I had a nearby yoga retreat. Personal and wonderful service - especially for our little one. We tried a few services (massages and drop off for a hike) and all were great. The views are stunning, over a valley and ridge with gorgeous sunrises. The quality and variety of food is outstanding (breakfast, room service and dinner). The pools and villas are as described, beautiful and spacious. A very peaceful, restful environment to relax in.

Nothing we didn't like. Personally, I'd love the addition of a gym but otherwise great. Some small maintenance ongoing on the property and things needing be rectified (light globes need changing or milk etc) were attended to very quickly. We needed this specific location for access to a yoga shala and loved its quiet, peaceful feel.

Private, cozy hillside mountain retreat with friendly staff that inspires fond memories.

Superb stay! This is a magical place, with a picturesque arrival veranda, leading to some of the most stunning villas you can imagine. The complex includes a majestic infinity pool, a secluded massage complex, and a magnificent breakfast area. The breakfast buffet offerings are generous - but if you’re willing to wait a little for an a la carte offering, you should try the egg cochotte (a masterpiece). The hotel also provided generous takeaway breakfast options for our last day, which included a basket of delicious pastries. The rooms were clean, and quiet (as requested- thank you), and a prompt turn-down service provided to secure our extra bed under a mosquito cover! The Pita Maha staff were courteous and friendly as you’ll quickly come to expect across Bali, but here they went the extra mile. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Relaxing, beautiful hotel set into the side of valley in Ubud

I liked the pool, the gardens and the breakfast cooked to order menu. The staff were very very courteous and made every effort to check for our needs.

The room was lovely but damp. When aircon was switched to dehumidifier mode it was ok but when off or on normal cold mode clothes became damp. The number of steps at this beautiful hotel aren’t for everybody, they are steep & uneven. There isn’t any alternative. My family are fit and mobile. But I am not as fit. I managed but I can imagine many wouldn’t be able to.

Beautiful property, great location and excellent service.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome. They took the time to explain the facility and showed us to our room. Breakfast was excellent. Our villa was well appointed and comfortable. Our private space included a pool which we did not get to enjoy as it was rather rainy. The covered balcony with a lounger and small table and chairs allowed us to enjoy the outside in spite of the rain. It was our oasis from the crowd. The food at the restaurant was very good. We had a massage at the Spa and that was most relaxing.
