Cosy, warm and welcoming. A real home from home.

The nook was cosy, warm and welcoming. Well out of the way, in a rural area but only 20 minutes into Carlisle and only 40 mins drive to Keswick. The two bedroom cottage was clean and spacious with a bathroom (with bath) and an en-suite with shower. The kitchen was well equipped with air fryer, microwave, oven, hob and washing machine. TV’s (all smart tv’s - so you can log into your preferred service - netflix / prime etc) in both bedrooms as well as the living room meant that even with a family we could relax on our own or together. The WiFi access was great and no issues there! Stone floors throughout were heated via the under floor central heating system, making it comfortable and warm. The wood fire in the living room adds even more to the cosy and relaxing atmosphere. The nook was generally well maintained and was cleaned to a high standard. I really can’t recommend the nook enough, it’s set in an ideal spot, not overlooked by neighbors and instantly feels like home when you arrive. Thank you for our stay. 10/10

Almost totally perfect!

Wonderful rural location. Cottage very cute and comfortable. Fireplace impressive. Big kitchen. Underfloor heating makes it lovely and cosy.

Nowhere to dry the towels in winter. Although everywhere was immaculately clean, the metal gas 'rings' on the cooker needed a good scrub, (lots of burnt on food) . These are the only reasons for dropping a star, and I would definitely stay again !

Lovely secluded and quiet location, yet still close to main roads. Very quaint cottage feel, loved the exposed beams and stone. Very well equipped kitchen, cosy living room, comfy beds and good bathrooms.

This beautiful accommodation is set in lovely countryside but is very convenient for Carlisle and the Lake District. The cottage is immaculate and extremely comfortable. It is even better than the photos. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break and we were sorry to leave.

Gorgeous cottage in a lovely setting

Gorgeous cottage in a lovely setting. We loved the view of horses grazing across the drive too. Very lucky with the weather so the outdoor area was perfect for breakfast in the sun, and drinks and nibbles in the evening. Outdoor blankets were provided and came in very handy. Beds very comfy and breakfast was a nice bonus. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice and quiet getaway.

Not related to the host or cottage in any way, but if you're looking to get a taxi in to Carlisle, then it may be wise to pre-book, we did not and unfortunately it was a very busy evening so had to change our plans. Again, only a tip for others, we still had a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage. Nice base to travel to other destinations from. Nice and quiet.

Good size kitchen diner, nice layout, log burner.

Maybe they’d had some recent poor weather but all the outdoor seating cushions and chairs had water pooling on them despite being under cover so we couldn’t use them. that’s just being picky though.

Lovely short break in cosy cottage in the country

The cosy feel and decor, very clean, abundance of technology ,great location and so many cereals, coffee etc which I forgot to bring . We would recommend to our friends

Cosy Cumbrian Cottage

The perfect mix of modern and rustic. We had a very comfortable stay here with great wifi, tvs and kitchen appliances set in a lovely farmhouse building. When the sun is out, the garden seating and the ping pong table made for a fantastic base to go out on country walks.

Wonderful countryside get away

The cottage was absolutely amazing, so peaceful and the outside decking was wondeful, a lovely place to sit and relax of an evening with a good book, blankets provided if needed. The underfloor heating kept the place nice and warm. Selection of books and games provided for if you took a family too. I took many things with me with it being self-catering, which were totally unnecessary as washing up liquid, scourer and washing tabs were provided as part of the stay along with a good selection for breakfast. Lovely area to have a nice walk and the horses were an added bonus to see while sat in the garden. Great place to decompress, or to take the family. Will certainly be back in the future
