Really enjoyable and suited our needs perfectly

Really enjoyed our family stay here. Although we booked 3 separate cottages due to our number it was easy to meet communally in one of the bigger cottages. Didn’t meet the hosts but had contact via phone and text, found them to be very helpful and accommodating. Really lovely surrounding countryside and enjoyed being able to walk to the local pub in the evening safely on the road with the children.

Really minor points but maybe a couple more baking trays/grill pans in the cottages and more detailed info on recycling bins as bins aren’t labelled.

Excellent location for a variety of walks straight from the door. 15 minutes walk max to a fantastic pub, The blacksmiths Arms serving good food and ales. Cottage No. 1 cosy, warm and spacious living and dining area for 6 adults. Excellent views and parking good. Good WiFi throughout.

Small doubles in 2 of the bedrooms, quirky but limited sleeping space for adults. Shower over the bath very low and in need of some TLC. TV limited, no iplayer, we had plenty of games with us.

Fantastic hidden gem.

Written directions made it so easy to find. Loved the location. Quiet, plenty of walks but not far from the town. lovely view. Cottage was warm and welcoming. Beds were comfy. Living area was spacious and light. Kitchen well equipped. We loved it and have booked for next year.

There was nothing we didn't like. However, the beds upstairs are quite high. It wasn't an issue for us but it might be for some people.

Amazing cottages located in a quaint rural village

Beautiful cottages tucked away in the Lake District, fully equipped with everything you might need. Set on a charming farm where ponies and sheep wander right up to your door, it offers a lovely countryside experience. Although we didn’t meet the hosts, everything was organised seamlessly with an easy check-in process. A fantastic base for exploring the main sights of the Lake District and highly recommended.

If I was being picky, there were quite a few cobwebs around the house, and the ensuite walk in shower was slightly blocked so there was a build up of water at times. But other than that it was a perfect stay.

Amazing views, great hosts and cosy beds!

The hosts were really lovely and super accommodating of a change in plans that we had to make. The beds are really comfy and the kids loved the whole set up. The view from the lounge is absolutely beautiful! What an amazing place to stay! Thank you!

Peaceful rural location w good access to Hadrian’s Wall

Beds very comfortable - firm mattress with softer topper. Extending table good for games. Access to garden. Storage in small bedroom spaces well thought out. Very very quiet.

Upstairs living area got unbearably warm when sunny - skylights don’t open, and small vents were not enough to give proper ventilation. 2 skylights out of 3 had blinds. Also no extractor fan over hob, so any smokiness or smell couldn’t be removed for hours.

Perfect stay

The cottage was perfect for our family stay. The views were beautiful. Very clean cottage with everything we needed, comfortable and warm.

An acceptable quiet country location with fairly expensive room

Property was quiet and in a wonderful countryside. Facilities were adequate but not luxurious.

TV controller didn`t match the TV so some minor issues, Tried the 24hr number a few times but not answered to discuss this. It was Wimbledon week so this was disappointing. I found the room rate expensive

Comfortable and quiet with pleasent surroundings

Peaceful quiet location with excellent view. The property was well maintained and had everything we needed. Nearness to a nice pub with good food was a bonus.

The kitchen equipment did not include a tin opener.

Lovely staff but cramped in places.

The stsff and locating were excellent. The pub in the village is in walking distance wiry a friendly welcome, great beers and brilliant food. Excellent location for walking and when we arrived we were welcomed with a basket of tea and coffee and a pint of milk in the fridge. Impeccably clean apartment throughout!

Everything was rather cramped. The bed in the double room felt smaller than a normal double bed, and the shower came up to my shoulder with no means of adjusting it. The upstairs was big enough bit the bathroom and bedrooms were very small.

Perfect area for our recuperation. Beautiful countryside and very peaceful. Amazing views from cottage windows. Skylights made it even more special. Lovely bed kitten and towels. Clean and tidy.

We used the accommodation as a base for walking Hadrians wall, which is only a short drive away. It was quite small but

Quite location. Secure parking. Straight out onto a footpath into the woods. Although small it had everything we needed.

Didn’t like the shelf behind the bed, which meant you couldn’t sit up properly and read in bed. No access directly to the back garden from the cottage. It’s accessed through a gate at the end cottage.

loved the countryside views, walls from the front door and cosy feel of the place. hosts were so helpful! laundry facilities were perfect when travelling with a family too.

the bathroom floor was freezing, could do with being a Lino or warm tile. heating didn’t work which meant it was chilly downstairs, but the owner was helpful and provided us with a little portable heater.

We had a great weekend in a lovely cottage in a very quiet location

We loved the view and were sorry there wasn’t enough time for us to enjoy the peace. The cottage was very clean and the welcome pack was very welcome. The children loved their quirky bedroom.
