Derwent Manor Apartments & Rooms

Lovely spacious apartment with great location for the Northern Lakes. Easy parking, and about a mile flat walk into Keswick. There is a Pub round the corner from the apartment, the Farmers Arms, serving great food. The apartment, Honister, felt like it had been newly refurbished and is on the groundfloor.  Very comfortable, clean living space, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen had everything you'd need, including a goodsized fridgefreezer, efficient hob/oven etc. We could have done with a teatowel or two. There is a dishwasher, but with only two of us it wasn't worth using it. The host was very friendly. Being a groundfloor apartment was convenient for bringing in our luggage etc, but the lovely large bay windows which made the apartment bright and airy, also meant it lacked a bit of privacy. There are nets in the bedroom which helps with this. There are plenty of sockets which is always useful. There is a shower over the bath, I prefer a shower cubicle, but my partner prefers a bath. The water pressure was great! This was our first visit to the lakes. We didn't realise they covered such a large area of the country! We stayed local to Keswick which gave us plenty to explore in our 4 full days. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Ullswater, Buttermere and Derwent Water. We also went to Whitehaven on the coast. We also travelled through the Honister pass, our apartment's namesake. All were very beautiful. The scenery and atmosphere was amazing. Market day in Keswick is Thursday and Saturday. Plenty of great pubs, restaurants and takeaways and shops. Coop was very handy with a carpark too. We would definitely come yo the apartments again.

The location was great for us. 25 min walk to Keswick. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher!! Nice quality bedding, too. Workmen on site ( which we were pre warned about) were polite and didn't interrupt us at all. Nice local pub and cafe within a 10 min walk. Easy parking was a bonus as was outside seating. The apartments were in a very quiet area, so we slept really well... no passing traffic at all.

I was worried about how to dry wet clothes ( we were doing a paddlboarding course) but found the towel rail and sunshine sorted that problem out ! I didn't realise the name of our apartment was included in the welcome email, but we got there ! Some apartments are on the 1st floor... not sure that was explicit in the description. Not a problem for us but could be for some

Work going on at hotel it however did not affect our stay. Text from Daniel given his apologies because of the work going on . Hotel having a full revamp which im sure will be amazing when completed. He refunded us some money because of this. So very kind. We will definitely return next spring

It’s close proximity to Keswick, a 20 mins safe off road walkway into town. Clean Safe off road parking for cars and motorcycles.

The refurbishment carried out to my apartment was lacking in detail. A very rushed, cheap one coat paint job. Attention to detail was very lacking. Did anyone check the quality of the painting? Who signed that off? A 10 year old must have been painting. Lazy slapdash over painting on all sockets, not taped no pride in the quality of finish. Wardrobes inside not painted. Bathroom flooring of very poor design seems not finished. Snagging? Did anyone check the finished refurb? Obviously not. All very rushed and haphazard. Shame really as it was a nice apartment.
