Spacious rooms and a great location.

The breakfast room was not cleaned up properly from breakfast when we arrived in the afternoon. The whole place needs a wee lick of paint.

Room was spacious enough and bathroom --always a keen indicator-- was clean.

The carpeting on the stairs to most rooms and within rooms is in serious need of cleaning. From the front door, it's the first impression one gets and it's not good.

Alisdair was friendly and welcoming. He knew our names as we wandered into the breakfast room before we had introduced ourselves or told him our room number. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The jacuzzi bath was a big hit after running the marathon and was very big. Breakfast was lovely every day and he even allowed us into breakfast earlier than normal one day due to the bus picking us early for the marathon. A lovely stay and will definitely stay here again if we travel that far again.

A good location and a lovely house

A terrible experience. At the beginning of August, I stayed one night at this property with my partner. As soon as we arrived, we immediately noticed a profound lack of cleanliness in the room: the toilet paper roll hadn't been replaced, the wastebasket in the bathroom was full of garbage, and outside our room door, a vacuum cleaner was lying on the floor for the entire duration of our stay, which we had to climb over to get out. When we pointed these issues out to the property owner, he did nothing to fix it. But the worst thing was that the property had no electricity for the entire duration of our stay. The owner said it was due to a severe storm that had knocked out power to the entire village. However, from the window of our dark room, we could see that all the houses around us were perfectly lit. We are waiting for a refund.

The location was really good. The shower was good. Good size tv. The bed was comfy.

The bedding smelt a little musty. The heater didn't work properly. The top drawer didn't open. The bathroom smelt musty, and there weren't any sanitary bags for women. The breakfast was a buffet style, but there weren't any mushrooms, and we only had the choice of scrambled eggs.

Great location. We were able to just drop our bags and go straight out to explore Fort Augustus. Lovely big room with an amazing bath - we’d booked a triple with jacuzzi bath. My son only ever takes showers but even he loved that!

The location

Everything else , it felt dirty ,arriving through the breakfast room is vey unhygienic apart from the fact there were crumbs on the worktop food on the floor at 4 pm not good . The tea tray in the bedroom was dirty the tumblers were cracked & filthy , the furniture was very badly marked &dusty & there was a not nice smell .The bathroom had no hand soap the showerheads were disgusting , I was too scared to take a shower . The towels were too small .The bed wasn’t the best to sleep in there was about an inch gap under the door so you heard every sound .the breakfast was terrible only 4 “hot” items juice in jugs with no lids bread uncovered yogurts just left out on a shelve just not very hygienic. People leaving with cases & stuff will you’re trying to eat not good . I would have spoken to the person who was there but I had a ferry to catch and another guest was complaining and I couldn’t wait

The staff were very friendly and helpful, letting us leave a bag after check out and just being generally kind. Breakfast was great and the room was clean. Late check in instructions were clear and easy.

Big room, comfy bed, excellent location, nice to have a smart TV in the room.

Our shower flooded the bathroom when I used it because the plug hole was clogged with hair! It was fixed within a couple of hours but the staff did not replace the towel that had been soaked on the floor, so we had one less towel for the next morning. In general, felt the bathroom could have been cleaner. Breakfast was very basic and disappointing, self service buffet, felt like the cheapest food options had been supplied. Only saw one member of staff during our whole stay, which was at breakfast and he did not introduce himself to us or explain the breakfast set up to us.

We were up a couple of flights of stairs as requested twin room and presume only on top floor? Tricky with suitcase. Bathroom was private but external to the bedroom which is not ideal. It felt more like a hostel than a B&B

Had stayed there the Year before and new what to expect. Great location for touring West Highlands.

Mum & partner loved their stay. Originally for me, and, Mum, though i couldn't make it. Offered a free upgrade to a king room. Very much appreciated. Great location. Fab views.

The room and ensuite was large and super clean . Location to the centre . The breakfast was 1st class . Very welcoming on arrival . A big thank you to Alastair & and his mum . For a great night's stay . Nothing was too much trouble. Scotish hospitality at it's best !!. Mark, Carole,Harry & Erin

Heat in the rooms didn’t work super well and towels could be nicer

This is probably the friendliest, cutest, cleanest bnb that I have ever stayed in. The owner was lovely and incredibly helpful. We were on a cycling holiday and had a problem with our bikes and he allowed us to store them in his shed for a day. The rooms are very clean and incredibly comfortable. The breakfast is great and good value for money.

Breakfast was ample and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size. On site parking worked well. Close to the centre of village. Shower was good.

Breakfast wasn't all ready at the same time. Room was a bit chilly during the evening, the in-room heater took a while to warm up. TV had a limited number of channels available.

The property was close to the locks. The young man serving breakfast was excellent, helpful informative and and an all round good egg.

Our arrival was thirty minutes before allowed check in. It he two team members in the garden were brusque and clearly not interested in giving a good first impression. I know we were early but a nice hello costs nothing. After a long journey two members of the group were desperate for a comfort break, the male did grudgingly check to see if our rooms were ready, they were not, which is strange, only half an hour to go, but we were early. They did allow us to us a team member toilet. The White House advertises itself as executive, maybe five years ago. It is a nice property but very tired, with the carpets and furniture needing replacing, pictures submitted. Cleaning could also be improved, check the tops of your bathroom cabinets. Also breakfast cereal area not cleaned, picture taken in the evening. I would not return as felt overpriced for quality,

Location. Good sized room. Nice furnishing. Good breakfast. Cozy atmosphere.

The shower head and tap were not clean enough. The jacuzzi bath was missing part of the shower screen and it was dark. One of the lights in the room was flashing. The bed was to soft, but it looks like is a trend in Scotland. The breakfast food is self service, and it was not replenished after a big group. I think the host does a good job for one person, but some details are missed.

Great location, easy access with car and 1 min walk from centre. Room was ok, as expected from a B&B. Scottish breakfast, yogurt, fruit, tea and coffee in a nice breakfast room. Room 7 on top floor has a separate bathroom but that is really ok.

Booked at 6.30 pm and did not reach the host on any given phone number. Young lady in the garden house called the owner for the room number eventually. Bed was too soft for me.

This is a clean basic B&B; facilities clean and comfortable. Host was very helpful with suggestions of activities and places to visit.
