Comfortable short stay.

Newly fitted out, so very clean and modern. Staff attention was quick when there was an issue with the alarm beeping continuously.

Check in via cafe was a little odd. Side entry has no lighting at night.

Clean, comfortable accommodation in good location

The location is very good, the rooms were very clean and had everything you would require. Sloping ceiling a slight problem for tall people and it reduced the space in the room but it was all good. People in the Cafe below who manage it and provide breakfast were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and cooked promptly which was good as we had to be on site early each day.

The fire alarm control panel bleeped continuously with a fault the whole time we were there which was slightly annoying but I dare say they will fix that.

It reeks of history and style. I also loved walking out into Central Station grabbing a coffee and watching the world go bye.

Great location and excellent value for money.

Centrally located and the room was better Than expected. Clean modern and quite roomy considering the slanted roof. Parking would have been easy had we not had so much snow. The host was excellent and let us park out the front, however this would not normally be the case. Such a gorgeous town and the accommodation was very good value.

It was a little noisy as the rooms aren’t sound proof.

STUFF ARE SO RUDE

I drove so long for them to just screwed me. Just because I was looking for a key and open every key boxes. And just because of I don’t get any email or interaction how to get the key. The only thing when you reach here is just “CALL THEM” imagine you wanted to check in at midnight and still have to call them lol. Imagine you don’t have a signal to call or you’re from other countries. How would you solve this problem. I should get the interaction since the day I pay for it. not wasted my time and energy to call. This is make 0 sense! Do better!!

Good location next to the canal (though our room faced the carpark) Able to park overnight behind the room, nice little bar with good pub food next door. Breakfast available downstairs in the cafe.

I booked last minute so didn't have a code to get into the propert. Had to call someone to give it to us, but wasn't a big issue.

A place to use again

Warm, clean and comfy room, good wifi, easy check in. In the morning, my car was frozen - and a friendly local window-cleaner washed down the windscreen!

I didn't have breafast: not clear when the cafe downstairs was going to open - a waiter said 9 but I think it opened at 8. This was my only issue with the Gate House.

Lovely relaxing stay

Excellent location. Room was small but had everything we needed and was warm and clean. Our room overlooked the locks which was excellent. We had breakfast in the on site cafe and it was tasty and good value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Nice and warm room in the centre of the village.

Very nice and cozy room, with an attic. It was warm, clean and tidy. The view from the window was great.

The parking and the door entrance were not so clear to find. Also, there were some big stairs, and no elevator, so if you are carrying heavy suitcases, you will be in trouble. Also, the bathroom did not have a lot of space for your stuff.

The property was very convenient for the Loch Ness cruise that we had already booked

Nice location in Loch Ness

The location is at the heart of this small town.

A bit confusing to enter. Since my paid booking was not recognized at the beginning, there were no info shared before my arrival despite to my messages, and I believe it would be quite complicated if I would arrive later. Also, there is facility of the place and there is only 1 pub in the town to eat&drink. No allowance of kids after 8. Overall, not a very friendly atmosphere. We stayed only 1 night during our Scotch tour but wouldn't recommend staying due to many limitations.

Great location. Very comfortable and clean. Cafe for breakfast had nice food although 1 of the staff members was quite rude the rest of the staff were lovely. We'll put it down to him having a bad day. Would recommend.

The host didn’t respond to three messages. Eventually rang but I didn’t meet him. Far too expensive for one nights stay.

One night in beautiful Fort Augustus

The room was beautiful and very clean. The location is amazing, right in the centre of Fort Augustus, just a pity our room looked out onto the car park. The bathroom was excellent, nice and clean and big for the size of the room. The shower was spacious and good pressure.

The slopping ceiling detracted from the look and movement within the room. The only other thing we didn't like was that the other rooms were still moving around late at night and very early in the morning and you can hear every step from the creaking floors.. Plus the continuous banging of doors as they are all set with door closers, because of that when the doors close the whole building rattles.

Perfect location , staff rude, clean room

Beautiful location, room was clean

We arrived early and told by a member of staff we could park at the back of the accommodation . Then was told we couldn’t till check in, or take a chance with minibuses coming in and out for any damage to our car. We didn’t get a message till 16.38pm that we could check in even though check in was 3pm. The owner and 2 other members of staff were really rude to us .

Disappointing for the money

Very basic accomodation. Definitely not worth the price!

Everything. It was like entering a hostel. Pick up key in a very basic cafe, door opened at the bottom of the stairs, no further contact. 10% discount if we used the cafe for breakfast. Told no contact after 8pm so if you lost a key basically tough!
