Excellent experience and incredible views

While Storm Amy certainly made our adventure more memorable, the staff at The Highland Club were exceptional. We were notified early Saturday morning by both the on-site team and the main office in London about the power outage, yet we chose to continue with our journey — and we’re so glad we did. When we arrived, the staff welcomed us by candlelight, provided extra blankets, and ensured everything was as comfortable as possible. Despite the outage, the apartment remained surprisingly warm and inviting. By Sunday, the skies cleared, and we enjoyed a beautiful day exploring the grounds, Loch Ness, and the charming town of Fort Augustus. Power was restored by mid-afternoon, and we were even more grateful that we had decided to stick with our plans. The apartment was exceptionally well-equipped, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, and every detail — from the décor to the custom fragrance throughout the property — was perfect. A heartfelt thank you to the staff who went above and beyond to make what could have been a stressful situation feel effortless. Their dedication and kindness made our stay unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!

An amazing experience that the whole family will remember for a very long time.

This was more an experience than a location. The building and gardens are full of amazing history and we felt like we were living a peaceful and relaxing time as locals to Fort Augustus.

As a family we played sports and used the entire facility however the tennis court was a little dirty and very slippery so we decided this was not a safe option to use during the stay.

This is the most satisfying hotel apartment I've stayed in during my entire trip to the UK. The hotel is located in a monastery in Fort Augustus in the Highlands. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a full range of household items. It's a 10-minute walk from the hotel entrance to the small town. On one side of the town's main road is the famous Loch Ness, and on the other side, there are bars, restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations, which can basically meet the material needs for short to medium-term vacations. The entire hotel is surrounded by distant mountains and lakes, quiet and warm, making it a great place to relax. However, you might feel a bit frustrated when carrying large suitcases up the stairs on foot. Yes, there is no elevator in the entire hotel, so you need to be prepared for that.

In addition, the check-out policy is 11 o'clock, but my credit card was charged 25 pounds at around 9 am on the check-out day, and I don't know the reason.

The best spacious, comfortable accommodation you will find in Fort Augustus!

It was an amazing experience. We never knew what it would be like to stay in the old Abbey but the combination of the old (history, beautiful architecture, stunning views of the lake and the surrounding landscapes) and the new (neat, modern facilities, access to the pool and sauna) was exceptional. We loved how big our apartment was. Our daughter had her own room and bathroom and we all had a separate living room with majestic high ceilings and a big kitchen. We also got a lovely hamper as a welcome gift, which was very handy when didn’t feel like braving the cold to go out to buy a snack.

The only hiccup we had was the heating. After the first day the radiators stopped working (though we still had plenty of hot water) and no matter what we pressed on the control panel, they never gave us any more heat. But it wasn’t so cold for it to become a big problem so we didn’t bother Marty about it. I’m sure he would have been able to fix it immediately.

The apartment was much bigger than we had thought. The four of us could have easily fit into one apartment.

Not that it can be helped, but hauling luggage 4 floors up wasn't great.

Check in process is a nightmare … received multiple long emails that basically insisted I had to contact them with a specific check in time or risk not being able to check in / be fined and then reminder emails that if I’m not out in time I’ll be charged … a bit overkill on that front And then when I did turn up on time it’s a nightmare to find reception as the accommodation is owned by different companies so you have to phone a number from the car park and then hope your phone reception allows that … Room is big but pretty dated to be honest .. bathroom was old, and the welcome hamper is very impractical for traveler’s… packets of pasta, rice etc …. Maybe some nice cheese, crackers and local seafood or produce would be better … not pantry staples ?? Interesting place but very overpriced when compared to many other places I’ve seen travelling for 8 weeks
