Loud if your in the ground floor until late

The property was nice looking and the communal areas were well looked after eg: breakfast room and entertainment room.

The room was on the ground floor in between the communal toilets and the bathroom next door and the kitchen. It was noisy from 11pm with banging of cupboards and doors over and over and then in the room next door a drunk couple in the room next door with paper thin walls had disgusting language and shouted constantly at each other for 3 hours! I went to get the night porter who did knock in their door, however they carried on for an hour a little quieter. It was awful and it sounded as loud as if they were in our room. My daughter was horrified by the crazed woman and we could even hear them going to the toilet. Not a nice night at all. 3:30pm they finally went to sleep. The breakfast was good although the coffee ran out.

Disappointing.

The location was good with a free car park. The bed was comfortable. Staff friendly. Sensible bar prices.

I felt like a second class customer as because we were not having evening meal only b&b we could not use the spa facilities for free we would have to pay £10 each per spa visit. I think this dreadful. We paid for what we asked for (B&B) so why should we be discriminated against for not wishing to have dinner there too? A terrible policy. Also when I booked this was not mentioned. Also not having tea and coffee served in individual pots at breakfast and having to use a coffee/tea machine using a very small cup, also not what I would expect. Very disappointing. The room was quite tired (although the bed was comfortable) . A pipe coming out the side of the bath going through the wall out to a radiator not a good look! Also no face cloths supplied and no tissues in the room. Most hotels provide these nowadays.

The location was excellent the staff always friendly and really hard working a credit to to company. Facilities excellent. Good was very good.

Our room although in a lovely location overlooking the sea was too warm. It was situated above the heated swimming pool. Everything else great.

Affordable and comfortable, Classic English Riviera Seafront Hotel .

Unlike many hotels that despite photos etc, on arrival, turn out to be quite tired and dated. The Palace has had a lot of money spent on modernising it, you can see this in the decor and modern artwork, very tidy. Staff are super friendly and helpful in all areas, I put this down to the attitude and leadership of the G.M. who is very hands on, approachable and present. Restaurant dinners, high quality, nouvelle cuisine style ( maybe not for large appetites). Spa complex a little tired but, a good size, warm pool and excellent steam and sauna. Location is convenient for whole of local area, plenty to see by foot too. Room was fresh and modern and bed very comfortable.

Coffee machine in the restaurant was disappointing, luke warm and very average coffee ( we would of happily paid a moderate premium for a decent cup of coffee). Reported my bedside lamp NOT WORKING on Friday. No action taken by the late Receptionist and despite offering to fit a new bulb myself, it never got done.

It is an impressive building with plenty of parking space.

The room was downstairs by reception with a view of a small yard where staff smoked and had junk including an old toilet in it. There was loud live music we hadn't been warned about and the full English breakfast was tiny.

Enjoyable

Myself and my daughter stayed for the night. The room we had was lovely and big very clean and tidy with a double bed for myself and a single for my daughter. The hotel was clean and tidy and smelt lovely. location is perfect and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I was disappointed that I had to pay for myself and my daughter to use the facilities I thought it was included in the price of the stay. Luckily we brought our own towels to use the facilities because there is charge to use towels and also a charge to use lockers and I didn't have any money on me so we had to leave clothes and belongings in the the chaging room. There are added extras that soon mount up on top of what you are paying to stay.

Look there's no denying this is fabulous value for money and we keep coming back. The food was lovely. Entertainment great. Pool area is nice. Fab location and parking.

Just a few little semi gripes. Whilst the food was nice it wasn't as good as our last stay in November. Last time it was exceptional this time just nice. Would've like the coronation chicken starter again and puddings like posset/brulee. Our bedroom window didn't open so we were roasting alive as we couldn't turn the radiator down either. Staff tried their best and provided fans though. The pool looked clean but there were some funny smells by the steps up to the pool area.

I won’t be going back

Breakfast was not very good. The bacon was really dry and overcooked. Poached egg was tasteless and raspberries were very soggy and mashed up. The room was very cold and radiator was tepid.

We only chose the palace because of the pool yet there was no spaces for us in swimming pool when we arrived. The receptionist was most unsympathetic and rude.

The hotel is very pleasant downstairs. The lounge and bar and eating areas are lovely. nice and warm. The hotel happily moved us to another room when asked. The staff were excellent. Especially housekeeping. The pool was very pleasant but we didn’t realise when had to pre book a session.

We were initially put in a substandard room which had a dreadful bed that was so soft. The carpet was old and marked and the bathroom had many issues due to old age. The windows were broken so not easy to open. Not really up to standard for this hotel. The second room had a broken toilet seat that wasn’t fixed and rust around the bath plug hole which wasn’t ideal.

I would highly recommend this hotel

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. On arrival our room wasn't quite ready so we were given a complimentary coffee in the bar. We stayed on a half board basis and all food was very good. The swimming pool was 30c and very clean.

Checking out to go home. I could have stayed longer.

Only a one night stay for work but can't speak highly enough about the whole experience. Great staff on reception and in spa/leisure club. Brilliant breakfast. Found an absolute gem and will be returning 100%

One night stay

Love this hotel for it's location, free parking, we got a free sea room upgrade which was lovely. Decorated nicely for Christmas. Free pot of tea or coffee. Comfy big bed. Bath and shower.

We have stayed here several times now. Unfortunately our evening meal was cold and we sent it back to be brought another meal each with hot plates but the food was still like warm. Could be bothered to send it back again. It was very tasty though. Standards have definitely slipped since first coming. Little things like food presentation has gone down. Breakfast was cold . The waiter very apologetic. Tea and coffee comes from a machine now , used to be served to you. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the evening entertainment because 2 coach parties took all the space. Staff are lovely and attentive. Staying again in a few weeks so hopefully our experience will be better

Enjoyed the position of the hotel on sea front, carparking & hotel in general.

Good food in the dining room, all food excellent & service friendly. Rest of hotel clean & tidy, entertainment we had in the evening was excellent. Our bedroom was clean & well appointed.

Bedroom was cold at this time of year, radiators not working, although they did supply a small electric heater. Bathroom had a bath with shower over but it made it very difficult for my wife to get in & out without falling, could do with walk in shower instead. Also very difficult to regulate water temperature.

Extremely good value for money

Excellent location, free parking, staff extremely friendly, pool, steam room, sauna, and gym included in the room price. I had the gym to myself, it had a good selection of equipment. Very clean, and fresh towels everyday. I cannot comment on the breakfast as we didnt opt in for it.

The room was super hot, although a fan was privided. And there was no hot water on our last morning which was on sunday. Obviously an unavoidable issue. Even with my cold sunday morning shower, the value for money is superb 👌 would definitely stay here again

Girls night away

Fantastic value for money, right on the seafront. Staff were always more than happy to help, nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast selection was great, continental breakfast selection and then the choice of a hot breakfast too. 3 course dinner in the evening was nice (not a massive selection to choose from, but as we had it all included in the price we couldn't complain with the choice!) Drink prices at the bar were also very reasonable. It was a nice atmosphere in the evening, the bar area was fairly busy and there was a band playing. We stayed in a triple room which was very spacious.

The hotel is a little dated, and when booking for the swimming / spa we had to book our massages one after the other, and we'd already had our swim and gym session. Meaning we had to find something to do whilst waiting for each other to have our massage. Not an issue, but it would have been nice to enjoy the pool/spa whilst we were waiting, or to have been provided with robes and somewhere to chill whilst we wait.

Imitate cosy feel the rooms were warm and cosy too, was relieved to see a kettle and supplies provided. Breakfast was plentiful and all the staff were lovely.

Lack of basics for a hotel

The food was good and most of the staff were nice and helpful. The room was nice and clean.

The hotel does not have any sweeteners for your tea and coffee which for a big hotel is not good enough especially if you are a diabetic they also do not do low calorie mixers in the bar is not good enough in this day and age.

A grand stay

The Palace is a beautiful, grand hotel where the staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs in reception, bar, and dining room, the decor is stunning. My room was as booked, and was comfortable and clean. I will definitely stay here again and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

A really good location, large recently decorated room which was very clean and quiet, great facilities and parking. Massive thanks to Paul, Becky, Sharon & Claire who all work so hard and made our stay so memorable.
