Your parking let's you down!!!

We booked a room on the 27th December, the room was average, nothing special. The hotel would benefit having a full makeover. ..

This is the part where it goes downhill.. after staying here, I received 3 parking fines from the private parking company this Hotel use, 3!! 3 fines for £100 each. I paid for the parking via the the app with full proof which is what the hotel tell you to do. I'm aware this is an independent company, but then the Hotel should be aware of who they use for carpark management and the absolutely shocking reputation this parking firm has. I'll never stay at this hotel again simply because I don't want to be dragged down the leagl road and waste my time defending a bogus parking claim..

Horrendous!!!

Dirty, run down and smelly and overall disgusting!!!

The rooms were unhygienic (blood on woodwork) rubbish left in toilet, toilet brush ready to walk!! Wallpaper melting off walls, stained chair, dirty curtains, stains on carpet, dead flies on desk dirty handprints everywhere! overall filthy and run down not to mention the horrendous staff!! We DID NOT stay we left as soon as we saw the room! leaving our family stuck in Paignton on a Christmas weekend break with no accommodation!!

The location was brilliant, there was a very large car park which was brilliant.

The lift was out of use and we are 78 and 82 and stayed our room was on the 2nd floor and almost the last room,it wasn't ideal but we managed.

Good position for the shops and beach

Room was not that clean when we arrived . Very dangerous shower with no shower slip mat and floor tray was 14 inches off the floor to get into it , so couldn't use it as risk of slipping.getting in and out.

Very welcoming Hotel,

the room was warm and clean, reception staff were lovely.

Shower tray very hard to get in and out off when you have a bad knee, scrapped my ankle getting out as it is quite a drop stepping out of the shower, the plug beside the bed to charge phones etc was very difficult to get to, had to move bed out of the way, My brother had his bags moved in his room which made him feel very uneasy as there was no need as they were in the bottom of the wardrobe, but when he returned to his room they were both on the bed!! Walls are paper thin, and i had noisy neighbours that didnt know the meaning of sleep.

The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Found what looked to be a dog biscuit on the floor and plenty of rubbish, sweets and wrappers. Which is so disappointing.

We found the parking charges absolutely ludicrous, the tarrif is to high and we think for people staying for longer then 1 night should have a better rate. We stayed 4 nights 5 days and it cost us an extra £32 this is way to much.

Brilliant

Our room got upgraded to a sea view which was perfect as it was booked for my son's birthday. He was made to feel extra special. Location was perfect for us as we were close to the pier. Breakfast was ok. Would of preferred a choice of milk instead of just full fat milk

Food was not a great standard for breakfast you were made to to queue like you were at school dinner line we also had people placed into hotel by the social security services though I don’t mind this practice I feel we should be informed at the time of booking the rooms the hotel was poorly decorated not as you see in the photograph room was very tired but clean hotel was clean didn’t complain because staff were so helpful I feel the hotel owners let the staff down to have good helpful people work for you and not help them by investing in the work area is strange so my overall opinion is hotel looks tired and sad looking decor of room not as advertised food poor but as I stated staff were great thank you to the staff…!!!

Water dangerous hot. The shower is in the bath. No hand rail to get out bath. Not much foot space around toilet. Curtains hanging off the rail. The carpets stained and dirty. No switches by mirrors. No shelves in bath room to put your toiletries.

Room ok for a brief stay

The location was perfect.

I appreciate it’s an older hotel but the corridors are long and narrow for an older couple The room although clean smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Only one double socket for TV and kettle and none available near bed although staff did come and plug in an extension for my medical equipment. Shower was a new addition and nice and big. Breakfast was basic although the cooked food was tasty

The hotel was great for a one night stay and excellent curb appeal, facilities and customer service.

The location was perfect because it was walking distance to Paignton front. The kurb appeal of the hotel is spot on.

The rooms were hot and the hotel did provide a fan in each room, however, the fans were so dirty and full of dust I was afraid to turn them on, so I took the fan apart and cleaned it. I did the same for my daughter who was sleeping in the room next to us. The shower was also very crammed and the water very slow. The shower door opened onto the shower controls which were not ideal. The hotel building was huge so I understand this is most likely not possible but it would be excellent if it has a refurb as it smelt a built old and the corridor floor boards were very sqeaky.

Couple of days away with my child to go to splash world.

Great location!, when asked for a new fan as the one in the room was broken they did this quite promptly,also there wasn’t any mugs/spoons to make myself a cuppa this was always resolved quickly.

I understand it’s an very old building with very creaky floors and quite shabby. It could be made better with a new interior design. Also very reasonably priced

Terrible

Love the downstairs entrance was lovely well set out plenty of room it had a small bar plenty of tables to sit and socialise. Beds were lovely and big and comfortable. We were upgraded to a sea view room which cost more as and it seemed smaller and HOT we were grateful of the upgrade but would have been happier in the room we booked.

The room was small and to hot even with the windows open and a fan on, the bathroom could of done with a make over and massive clean, no hand towels or bath mat (wasn’t sure if the thing in the bathroom was a towel or bath mat ) bathroom was very tight and you couldn’t hardly move in the shower and I’m only small ! Cleaners need to be trained properly to clean under beds and check before leaving, the TV was linked up with the public WiFi which caused issues Couldn’t watch or play music while getting ready and when asking staff she said re-tune it which we did for the live/free view channels to work which again were terrible they didn’t work either. The smaller rooms need air-con we were in a twin room single beds and we had to leave earlier then 11am we couldn’t breath it was that warm in the my cup of cold water was so warm the few hours of sat while we slept.
