Ideal for a weekend stay

Lovely hotel with a great view of the sea. Staff were amazing and always had tips and helpful ideas. Parking was a bonus. We had an early check out and Peter ensured that our breakfast was ready and that we were able eat before we left.

For us, the bed was a little uncomfortable but that is probably personal preference.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with a stunning view

Stunning location, adults only hotel, and beautifully furnished room. Incredible view over the bay from Room 5, outstanding hospitality from Peter (and deliciously cooked food from Ruth who I didn’t get a chance to meet). Room had everything I needed for a decadent stay. Shower room compact but lovely toiletries and excellent shower. The basin in the shower room was small but I put the bath mat on the floor to catch any overspill, so absolutely not a problem - more a tip for future guests rather than a criticism.

Heaven

I was travelling solo so I had a single room which was small, but perfect for me. I had a side-view of the sea and the coast down towards Brixham and Berry Head and a beautiful window seat which allowed me to take it all in. It was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfy. Shower and toilet were spotless and the shower was a rainfall shower which I did not expect. It was brilliant. I ate at the restaurant the first night and had breakfast both mornings and the food was delicious.

My stay was faultless, apart from the weather and I won't blame Peter for that.

Perfect getaway

Everything from the initial welcome to the food and the bedroom was absolutely stunning Highly recommend. Peter was so friendly and welcoming. Look forward to going back. Very relaxing weekend. Just what we needed

Tranquil location and very relaxing

The location was absolutely stunning right next to the beach and easy walk to a few coves. Breakfast was nice outside but do prefer to choose in the morning rather than the night before on what we would like to eat. Overall loved the mix of options (pancakes really nice!) and only wish the cooked breakfast was bigger as the food was very tasty.

Bathroom in room 10 is small, which was fine for me (5ft 2) but a squeeze for my husband at 6ft 1.

Lovely hotel, with great facilities and amazing staff

Quiet, wonderful location! The staff were amazing, Peter was very friendly, helpful and approachable. The room was lovely with a fantastic view, food in the Bistro was incredible.

The only downside was the pillows were a little soft and the duvet thick, when the weather was hot. There was however a portable air conditioning unit in the room which was very much appreciated

Short, excellent break

The whole trip from start to finish was amazing. The hotel was clean, comfortable and relaxed, staff were attentive, friendly and helpful at all times. The food was exceptional, and variety for breakfast was perfect. As a sole traveller, I felt included and looked after. My room was amazing and felt more than 5 star. It sas spacious and not like other single rooms ive stayed in. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room were plentiful. A big thank you.

Lovely stay at Channel View Boutique Hotel.

Location, view, room and the owners were all exceptional. You can tell that Peter and Ruth care about their hotel and guests. The breakfast was very good and the food in the Bistro was really delicious and tasty.

Lovely place, great quality overall and the kindest of hosts. Go visit them!

Where to start? First and foremost the hosts Peter and Ruth are most likely the kindest people you'll ever get to meet. Add to that a lovely room, good beds, a great breakfast served with lots of choices and don't forget the briljant bistro tapas like food they serve for dinner. All that almost directly at the beach including private parking.

Absolutely nothing! If they ever would feel the need to further upgrade the already far above par level of the Hotel, maybe they could consider installing airconditioning in the rooms.

Great location but a B&B, not a hotel. Rear room was very noisy from railway line right next to property.

Location right on sea front. Easy parking. Good cooked breakfast.

Not sure why it’s called a hotel really, as everything is more like a B&B. Never been to a hotel before where you can’t check in before 5pm. The room we had was at rear of property and our window must have been less than 10 metres and at the same level of a busy railway line. The noise every 15 minutes was deafening and we both got no sleep til about 1am when the trains stopped……then woke again about 5.30/6am when they started again. The temperature in the room was super hot …..there was a fan (not aircon) but it had a timer with maximum 120 minutes on…….so it went off automatically after going to bed and meant the nights were very uncomfortable. Coffee maker only heated water to Luke warm temperature - suspect it needs descaling or is just broken. There is a bar at the check in desk but it’s not staffed so we were never sure if it was open or not, or whether you had to telephone to get someone to pour a drink - we would have used the bar a couple of times but went elsewhere as it just seemed awkward.

Lovely staff

The cooked breakfast was very nice, but you only got one of everything. Which is fine for me but it wouldn't be enough for my husband because he doesn't eat cereal or yoghurt.

Refused breakfast as we didn’t fill out the form the night before. Found the owner very rude and not welcoming. A shame as the hotel was very nice and great location.

Great short break in a fantastic hotel and beautiful location.

It was beautifully presented, fantastic sea views with lovely personal touches. Fresh milk for tea and coffee in the rooms in flasks daily, breakfast tailored to your requests and the owners ( Peter and Ruth) couldn’t have been more welcoming.

Nothing, it was perfect for our short break. We would have been happy to stay longer.
