Our room was clean and spacious with all the necessary extras - e.g. kettle/coffee etc. The staff were helpful and showed us how to acces the electic lights with our card and replenished milk and sugar when asked. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice - we had an excellent weekend.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay and would definitely stay again

Breakfast was very nice and location is good opposite Paignton Green and the beach. Plenty of shops, pubs and cinema nearby. We took our small dog and it is very convenient just across the road to walk your dog. Also very nice park and the Pier for the children.

Great location excellent value for money

Our room was large and spacious with a sea view and it was in excellent condition and very clean. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Communal areas and bar are very nice with comfortable furniture.

The hotel had a ticketed new year ball that took up pretty much all of the communal area in the bar and if you didn't pay for a ticket seating was very limited and access to the bar was barriered off making getting a drink like a second rate guest. The hotel does not have a separate function room so I do not think it is right that they had this in the main public area to the detriment of other guests who had booked for the new year.

A new hotel that could be so good, is being appallingly managed. Don't stay here until there is some management and they stop selling breakfast to customers from other hotels

Checkin was painfully slow. We asked for adjacent rooms and couldn't have been allocated further apart. Ground floor and top floor with no other options available. When we went to bed on the first night we realised that a double sheet had been fitted onto the Kingsize bed, it didn't fit. We called reception for another. A staff member knocked on the door and handed us something before running away (he didn't offer to fit it) When we opened it we found a supering double duvet cover, not a sheet. The sea view we requested was barely noticeable through the windows which were absolutely filthy. Breakfast was farcical. In the lift we noticed a sign telling us about the hotel's system to "help us choose the best time for breakfast" which we thought a little odd. Usually we choose to have breakfast when we want, especially if staying in a brand new 4 star hotel. The hotel was serving breakfast not only to its own customers but also to the customers from the Budget Ibis next door which meant that there was a long queue at all times between 0800 and 1000. When you finally get a table the fun really starts!. Lots of staff milling about but with zero direction or management meant utter chaos. Whilst the food and beverage served was of adequate quality, it was virtually impossible to construct a reasonable breakfast without have to wait an age for key ingredients to be replaced. eggs but no bacon, food but no plates, coffee without cups, cups but no coffee etc..... Lots of staff but no attention to detail or focus, nobody clearing tables making the queue worse. The hotel itself is new but pretty soulless, there had nee d leak in the roof on the top floor and there was a smell of damp on that corridor with a dehumidifier running permanently to clear it. The car park is terrible. Too cramped and massively oversold so unusable.

Comfort on a budget.

Location was brilliant, so convenient. Beds were very comfy and had very handy plugs on each side. Fridge was very useful.

The bathroom/wetroom was very inconvenient as after just one shower the floor was very wet, needing shoes to visit the loo. The shower screen was totally ineffectual. I know we purchased a room with a "restricted view" but the view was non existent never mind restricted, just a wall in fact, which left the room very dark.

Seafront star.

Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the area.. Throughout the hotel was very clean. The room was very comfortable and warm. Car parking on site was a bonus. Location of the hotel on the seafront, within walking distance to the railway and bus station, was ideal for exploring the area. Food and drink prices were reasonable, and once again, staff in the restaurant were very attentive, and service was first class.

Nice clean hotel, centrally located but saving the planet doesn't seem to be on their radar.

Breakfast comprehensive and readily available and seemingly good quality. Staff polite and helpful. Restaurant clean. Rooms a good size, beds comfy and large, very clean and tidy. Appreaciate the attempt to save energy with sensor lights but see below for the total disregrd for energy use also at play in the hotel. Easy check in and out.

Parking charges ridiculous when a paying guest. Hotel and bedroom already showing signs of wear and tear which is disappointing, Cannot believe that the heater in the main entrance is on constantly blowing out warm air on full power with the main sliding doors permanantly open so basically heating the outdoors how is this helping the environment and certainly negates any initiatives within the hotel to look after the planet, even the staff when asked didn't know why is was on when the doors were wide open....Do Better.

We liked how friendly the staff where, mainly the receptionists and cleaners!, nothing was to much trouble. The ladys at the front deck was very welcoming! The room was perfect nice and warm and the shower was great.thank you

Not much really!! If I had to be picky I would say there was no hot chocolate in the rooms.But I think that's more personal preference,as they have everything else. And maybe the morning breakfast staff (not the front deskclady)could be more welcoming but I would say that's it.
