In great location, and only 15min to to paigton and bus station that can take you miles.

I choose not to have breakfast but it smelt amazing.

The room was quite warm but I'm a hot blooded person so no fault on them.

Happy to visit again

Lovely cooked full English breafast with toast, hot drinks and anything else from the cold buffet. Torbay Guesthouse was very easy to find and within a few minutes walk of Paigntons eastern promenade. Bed was comfortable and room spacious. The host (James) was very welcoming and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

Managed to unblock the toilet before I left. Single bed duvet was too small and was replaced with a double duvet. Parking slot next to the wall was very narrow, when the other slot was correctly used by a van.

If you are after extremely BASIC and no holds barred establishment then it’s for you.

For me personally I wouldn’t stay again it was clean and comfortable but the lack of toilet facilities was a problem and the fact there wasn’t absolutely no staff whatsoever to help was just ridiculous. The public toilets just said private so how is a guest supposed to know that that is the toilet.

Room was clean and comfortable but no toilet in the room it was in the hallway and wasn’t at first easy to find as had no sign saying toilet just private which I found very peculiar. So for first day I thought the whole premises had no restroom facilities it you have a public toilet label it as such so your guests know.

Amazing and relaxing

My stay at Torbay Guesthouse was absolutely perfect. The place is spotless, peaceful, and ideally located—just a 5-minute walk from the seafront and about 15 minutes from the town centre. James went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, resolving any minor issues straight away. Breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully arranged—you can choose your cooked breakfast the night before, and there’s also a great selection of cereals, fruit, and yoghurts. I especially appreciated the convenient laundry service, available for a small fee, which saved me the hassle of finding a laundrette. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Torbay Guesthouse to anyone visiting the area.

Nice place

The rooms were clean and the beds very comfy indeed. Breakfast was excellent. The owners couldn't do enough for us, even down to offering me the use of a mobility scooter as I don't walk too well. I didn't need it though. Very very nice place indeed and excellent value for money

If I was going to be really nit picky we would have liked a wardrobe or chest of drawers or something in our rooms as we like to unpack and put all our stuff away.

Fantastic family run b&b

Lovely B&B in a really central location. The breakfast was absolutely brilliant: you pre-order your hot breakfast the day before, with plenty of options, plus continental choices including juices, tea, coffee, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and toast. Couldn't have asked for more. I stayed in the single bedroom, which was absolutely perfect for what I needed. The bathroom was just across the hall and very convenient.. Overall, a lovely B&B – I’d happily stay there again.

Lovely and friendly, excellent affordable accommodation, fantastic location.

James and Stephanie friendly and helpful. The property is clean. They provide towels for the beach and also had lots of board games available to use.

The bed was uncomfortable (due to it being a standard mattress). We were on the top floor and the room was very hot, there was a fan but it did not help with the temperature of the room.

Most amazingly perfect guest house 😁

We stayed in a family room. Beautiful decor and layout, amazingly comfortable mattresses (actually slept better than at home on my Emma mattress). There is even a fridge in the room and a bladeless fan which are both welcome additions. Wonderful family run business with families in mind. Lots of games and puzzles to play with and the most welcoming hosts, I cannot recommend this place enough.... The breakfast was absolutely delicious and you could taste the quality of the food too.... James, Christine and family (Teddy is an absolute angel/superstar), you have totally hit the nail on the head as hosts and any family who stays will have a wonderful time just as we have, there is absolutely zero that we could say negatively as everything was perfect. Thank you for our perfect stay and should we return to Paignton, we most certainly will be looking to see if you have vacancies. Thank you so much. Michelle, Ashton, Leon and Jenson 😊

A great place for a getaway

Honestly one of the best places we have ever stopped. James and Christine are amazing hosts, the breakfast was perfect the honesty bar is very reasonably priced and has snacks for the kids. There's loads of board games to play on an evening and the WiFi worked throughout. The room was nice and comfortable and the fridge was brilliant for packed lunches as eating out gets expensive. Lovely clean courtyard and secure rooms.

Fabulous b&b

This is a beautiful b&b. Me and my daughter stayed and can't fault anything. So welcoming , nothing was too much trouble. Spotlessly clean, the facilities were fantastic all you could want and more.It was like home from home. Even James and his wife's children were so polite and more than happy to help. The location is fab, just far away enough from the seafront so no noise but close enough to walk too. I went last year with different owners and all I can say is what James and his family have done( renovated etc) is just beautiful. Lovely garden to sit in, a loyalty bar even stocking ice creams!! You can order food from anywhere throughout the day and eat in the breakfast room using their plates etc provided. I can't praise this b&b enough. I will definitely be back next year just wish it could be this year. So friendly, happy and polite family with a beautiful b&b . The beds were also the comfiest I have slept in , in a b&b .

Very accommodating owners The place is nicely decorated and each bedroom has got just what you need as a solo traveller. So close to the beach although I didn't manage to get for a walk as I stay one night only. Breakfast was great in the morning. I totally recommend staying at Torbay Guesthouse

The hosts were lovely. Great communication from start to finish. Lovely location, quiet area, so close to the beach. The room was very nice, keyless entry, and simple to use. The location was in the right place five minutes walk to the beach and transport to the buses and train so near to visit

Excellent stay

Great hosts, very warm and friendly. We loved the gesture of a large size dog bed and doggy bowls in the room. You rarely get those in any accommodation. Our room had a rear entrance avoiding the main reception area, which we loved as one of our dogs is a shy one, and that came in handy. Room was good size, comfortable bed. Tower fan was a bonus. Excellent location, 5 mins walk to Preston Sands. Though we could not use that beach as we travelling with our 3 dogs and it was not a dog friendly beach. However, dog friendly beaches were at just 5 to 7 mins drive. We had a lovely stay and will definitely recommend this property. Thank you, James and family.

Far better than expected

This was a real find. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delivered to your table very quickly. The room was a decent size and exceptionally clean. The location was just a little far out from the resort centre, but it was a manageable walk if you have no mobility issues. We will not hesitate to book this guesthouse again when we are next visiting this area.

Very friendly hosts, absolutely spotless and clean, freshly cooked, tasty breakfast. Located in walking distance from the seaside. Generally, it was a very positive experience and would be recommended. Definitely consider re-booking for the next year air show.

The only thing that could be improved is coffee, I'm not a big fan of instant nescafe sachets, and I would like to suggest investing in a coffee machine. The bed was a bit squeaky but otherwise comfortable.
