Alittle short stay for a birthday treat, comfy bed, tasty breakfast and would come again to St Ives.

Lovely double room with tea & coffee, the bed was so comfy. my Son probably had a slight better view 🙄🙂. The next day which was my husbands birthday we had a very tasty breakfast couldn't fault it. Then we had a walk into St Ives and it was wonderful as the sun was shining seeing the swans on the river by the bridge. Hope to see you again, thank you.

If we swapped rooms with our son 😃. Our TV wasn't working properly, so I adjusted to use the freeeview and it was better.

Nice comfortable hotel in a great location and good value for money

Room was clean and comfortable, nice sized TV, comfy bed and good sized hot shower. Stayed in a Double room, it was a good size with seating area and desk and chair all tastefully decorated.

Our room was by the street into the town and windows could do with a bit of extra sound proofing. As was a bit noisy in the evening and first thing in the morning with groups of people walking in and out of town.

Poor and wouldn’t stay again for £100 per night in early February

Not much everything was closed. Bar and restaurant. Close to town centre so could walk to other restaurants

You get what you pay for.

The location was ideal, next to the river and the bridge into the town centre. The buffet breakfast was good and plentiful. If you book a room here don't pay for breakfast online as they will offer it for a cheaper price when you check in.

For the price I wasn't expecting luxury. The room was fairly standard, but the cleanliness was poor. I didn't use the shower as the grout to the floor tiles was black with engrained dirt. The bathroom light was also on a motion sensor and I was left in darkness if I didn't move about enough. The cups and teaspoons were sticky so I didn't make myself a hot drink. I was woken up in the early hours by someone vigorously trying to open the door to my room. I'm assuming they were drunk, but it was odd as my room was at the very end of the corridor.

We really enjoyed our stay and wanted to see St. Ives, hotel getting refurbished.

There was no parking, but the man came out and sorted us a space. This was because the main car park was under flood water. It says anyone can park for £2 so don’t know if there are enough spaces for guests. Easy check in and man took my bag and showed us to the room. The room was really big and we had a lovely floor to ceiling view of the lake. Later realised that this should have been a meadow and the banks of the river had broke. Room was very warm so turned down rad. Good shower. Nice and quiet so had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was a help yourself, we went at a set time but only a few people in room so I think it should have been cooked to order as cooked stuff was getting dry. Breakfast could be better. As we have stayed at other places for same money and got a much better breakfast. They do say if not busy will cook to order but it wasn’t busy and loads of cooked food getting dryer and dryer.

Definitely think the breakfast should have been cooked to order because when we walked in only another couple and 2 children walked in, as I think there would be less waste.

Modern rooms but need refinement.

Room was nice and modern, with a pretty view over the river. Bed was comfortable and room was well furnished.

Stayed for new year's eve and found the room to be very cold, tried adjusting the radiators but made no difference. Used the shower which had very good pressure and was nice and hot, however the shower was fixed to the wall in one quite low position and the bracket itself was loose and nearly falling out. After you had used the shower, as soon as you open the bathroom door the steam sets off the fire alarm as it's positioned directly above the bathroom door.. I then received an email telling me not to smoke or vape in the room, neither of which I do. Overall the room is quite nice and modern, however the fit and finish of fixings and furnishings give the impression that it has been done very cheaply and in a rush, i.e. there wasn't a single level/straight plug socket or light switch in the room. Last negative is that they need a modern TV in every room, stayed a few times now and it's hit and miss whether you get a smart TV.

Room clean, suited our needs for overnight stay

In part very nice, Is in process of being refurbished was not aware until we arrived.

Due to refurbishment no bar or restaurant available but not informed until we arrived. Breakfast served in the large events room which was quite dull decoration wise and no attempt to dress up tables to make it inviting. At time of our breakfast we were only guest - although other guests staying at hotel.

Extremely over priced.

We arrived on the 26th December expecting to use their restaurant. Both the bar and restaurant were closed so we had to go into town to eat.

We were given a room which had no heating. We were then down graded but wasn’t compensated for this. The hotel was very poorly decorated for xmas.

The location. The decor in our room. The hot shower.

The restaurant being closed for major building work which was not mentioned on your website when we booked. The poor breakfast on our second morning - no Full English breakfast as advertised on the hotel website, no staff on duty in the kitchen or breakfast room, very little coffee and it was cold, very little yoghurt and no fruit to put on it, very few pre-packed croissants and very little bread by the toasters. On our second morning only an elderly lady was sitting in Reception wrapped in her coat and a cleaner were working in the whole hotel. No duty manager. The elderly Receptionist said she was not a First Aider, did not know any Fire Safety or Emergency Procedures and did not have a Food Safety Health and hygiene certificate to allow her to prepare and handle the breakfast she had been told to set out because there was nobody else to do it. This did not feel like a safe environment and we are concerned the hotel was, on that day and possibly others, in breach of its operating Licence, various Fire Regulations and possibly their Terms of their Insurance and we were glad to be leaving.

A nice hotel for a short stay and value for money. Added bonus is parking and near to centre.

In a good location with parking. Rooms are large with draw and wardrobe space. It was good value for money for 1 night stay.

We had a large room with lots of space but it only a had a standard double bed? It looks like it maybe had previously had a larger bed as bedside lights are spaced further apart and I had to get out bed to switch on/off!! A zipped linked twin beds would be a good option as then could have 2 room options of double or twin room. The bed was very hard and the room was very hot as 1 radiator and towel rail had no thermostat to turn down. The towel rail was so hot with no warning sign to make you aware which if children touched would burn them. They is a lot of space inside the door next to the wardrobe which would benefit from some hooks to hang coats etc as there was only 4 hangers in the wardrobe.

Location. Car parking. Sufficient little plastic cartons of milk for tea coffee for one person. Would not be enough for 2 people.

Bathroom light was permanently on. Bed was hard and lumpy. Balcony door was ill-fitting and let in a draft. Was not given welcome sheet, so had to ring reception for wi-fi code. No reply from reception most of time, and put through to answering machine.

Bed was very uncomfortable (super hard) fire alarm went off at 5 am - false alarm. Reception isn’t manned all the time - struggled to know where the bar, restaurant for breakfast was had to wander around trying ti find it. Shower took ages to warm up and then barely any water came out.

Great staff, but hotel is a bit tired

Location of the hotel is great and the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.

The hotel looks like it’s currently going through some upgrades, so the reception area was a bit of a mess. There was an exercise bike in there. The room we were given was fine, but the blinds were pinned down with safety pins, meaning they couldn’t be opened. The bathroom wasn’t great…the shower had a fair bit of mould and the toilet seat was hanging on for dear life

Very little but would comment the coffee got a thumbs down from all in our group - there were around 20, who all arrived for a party that Saturday night.
