Nice place near Cambridge

Our host was very nice, welcoming, and extremely accommodating. We also really enjoyed the roomy and cozy accommodation, it was definitely worth the price.

The place was a bit hard to find, since the address provided and some of the photos in the listing didn’t quite match what the GPS showed.

Perfect stay

I think this was one of the best accommodations I've ever stayed in. We received a very warm welcome from Alex and immediately felt welcome. The cottage is lovingly furnished, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

A very comfortable stay. Beats a hotel room and cost less.

The sausage bap we requested for breakfast was a sandwich made with thick sliced white bread. A roll or medium sliced wholemeal sandwich would have been much nicer. No crockery and hardly any cutlery severely limited eating options in the evening. Also meant we could not cut the sausage sandwich in half at breakfast.

Excellent- wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Our host was excellent. Our friends stayed in the additional property and we all agree - the cooked breakfast delivered personally was excellent. We also had cakes provided on our arrival with tea/coffee/sugar all available plus all we needed for use of the shower/bathroom - which was a lovely surprise and unexpected. Lovely village setting and the local pub serves great food. All in all our stay was great and we would have no hesitation in booking again if the opportunity arose.

Ideal base for a short break

It was quiet and comfortable set in a semi rural location but very close to Cambridge… The rooms had all the amenities needed for a stay and the host made a lovely Breakfast for the time you wanted it.

Cute cottage with everything to relax

Set in an idyllic village just off the services the cute cottage had everything you needed, safe parking warm welcome and everything you need to relax. Different teas and coffees and with high speed WiFi and great shower room. Slept well then woke in time for a quality breakfast.

A Perfect Stay – Warm, Welcoming, and Peaceful

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely guesthouse. The host Alex was very attentive and always made sure we felt comfortable. He was happy to chat and share stories, which created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The balance between hospitality and personal space was just right, and the place itself was cozy and thoughtfully arranged. We would gladly come back and can highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a peaceful and friendly place.

A most enjoyable place to stay

Our host gave us a warm welcome & filled us in on local knowledge. We had everything we needed in our little cottage, set in a very peaceful village. Breakfast was excellent. Easy walking to the nearest Fen and good road access to the surrounding area

Perfect for our requirements

Perfect location for our fact finding trip, walking distance to the local pub for dinner and our host Alex was very accommodating - nothing was too much trouble for him and cooked a delicious breakfast.

A lovely experience of the best English hospitality.

The location was in a picturesque village and very quiet. We had a very good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. The property was equipped with everything that you could have possibly required. Our host Alex was charming and very attentive to our needs. We were provided with a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning by Alex.

In a very peaceful location with a good pub just around the corner. The host Alex was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was tasty with lots of choice and brought to your door The bed was very comfy. Good access to plugs and had a long mirror.

Found it difficult to work the radiator in the lounge area but Alex soon rectified this problem. The shower could have been hotter with a bit more power.

The little suite of rooms was lovely and homely with a very comfortable bed. Very quiet and peaceful location so a great night’s sleep - and absolutely delicious home cooked breakfast delivered to the door in the morning. Host very friendly and welcoming.

very relaxing and comfortable, everything you wanted for a short stay.

breakfast was excellent. once new air fryer was mastered. by owner. seriously its was excellent set t us up for the day. the accommodation was very quiet and comfy slept really well, and the daily cake trets were a lovely touch

Perfect!

The full-cooked breakfast is amazing. There's always fresh milk left in the fridge so I can have a cuppa when I arrive. The huge jar of biscuits is a lovely touch, and the Tassimo coffee machine makes for a great start in the morning. There's also a large Tesco close by, so if you want to buy a microwave dinner and head back to Thorn House for dinner, that's a good option. However, there's also a great pub just around the corner. Thorn House is in a quiet location, so you'll get a peaceful night's sleep.

Pillow cases fabric not to my liking, felt like immitation synthetic silk, but used under pillows with cotton cases and had no issues.

Everything you need for a little break

Lovely little self contained ground floor bedroom and lounge/diner. Great tea/coffee facilities and a fridge and microwave. Very warm and cosy during some really horrible weather. Host Alex was friendly and happy to offer advice on the local area. The breakfast served in the lounge/diner was beautifully cooked and presented. Parking was convenient and easy. Local pub ‘The Three Tuns’ has great food.
