Still the cheapest by miles in the Cambridge area. Have been before and will stay again. No stately home stay is better value. Breakfast is hearty and the beds are comfy. The Three Horsehoes pub does excellent food and is a short walk from the hall.
Stronger coffee at breakfast would be welcome.

Madingley Hall is a lovely old building and it is great that it is being put to such good use. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful, but also just left you to come and go as you please. The cooked breakfast was superb, best I've had at a hotel in a long time, and in such a nice dining hall with views to the lake.
The rooms were very clean, functional and warm, I also found the bed very comfortable. A pleasant mix of old meets new, with the quaint leaded windows & view over the courtyard. The shower was good. Key fob access means that you can enter/exit through different external doors which was useful, especially when going to the car park or pub. We'll have to go and stay again because we didn't get chance to try the Cafe or Terrace Bar.
Good rural location, with easy access to Cambridge & motorways.
Re the pub: only a short walk down the drive and turn left..... cosy bar, good selection of beer & wine, very friendly & accommodating staff and the food was delicious.
The TV signal wasn't great (bad weather on our visit until the last day), but it didn't matter as the WiFi signal was very good so could utilise my phone & laptop.

Very elegant,spacious and welcoming
Our room needed a lick of paint, some worn patches on the wall corners noticeable.

Beautiful and stunning building and gardens. Ample parking. Comfortable beds.
The room was very cold even with the radiator on full. Clumps of accumulated dust and debris in the crevices of the wooden furniture. Television very small. Lots of grime around the shower cubicle door with no shelf in the shower to put toiletries. The sink was astonishing low...knee height! Breakfast was luke warm. Queues to use the only 2 toasters provided. Such a shame as location and setting were fab.

Breakfast.,. Fruit was very good and well presented
Scabbed eggs were as I liked ( soft) bacon was a little tough, but a good choice overall Croissants were very good
Staff excellent
Breakfast…
Not at all impressed with the tea and coffee with just hot water in flasks ( not hot enough)
Toasters were poor
Caffe bar area was very cold and draughty with no heating and not a pleasant place to sit and meet
Rooms are basic and not in line with the historical history of the building in our room two of the bathroom lights were out

good location
The food was quite limited in the bar, but the pub in the village was good.

A historic building in a great surrounding away from the business of Cambridge.
The rooms can be seen as a bit dated, but if you don’t mind that, it’s not bad at all.

Cleaners woke me up at 7am. Really loud. Banging about. Shouting to each other. Very annoying.

A beautiful mansion in a delightful setting with glorious grounds some distance NW of the city. The breakfast buffet was very good, the staff helpful and friendly and the study bedroom we had (the hall is mainly used for courses) was clean, well supplied and comfortable.
The bedrooms could be a little noisy but most guests are on courses and the comfortable terrace bar closes by 11.00pm.

Setting and building itself were lovely. There's a small reasonably priced bar onsite and the local gastro pub is a short walk down to the end of the drive. Plenty of free parking onsite and a decent breakfast. Great value.
Not much for the price. If I had to be critical, the coffee at breakfast was weak & lukewarm. We did contemplate dinner in Cambridge on the night we were there but £20 taxi each way feels steep for a journey of about 5 miles - but no reflection on the hotel itself.

Madingley Hall was a highlight of our one-week trip. It is a gem of "Old England" as we know it from books and films. A perfect escape from busy motorways and town centers. We all loved the place. The full english breakfast tastes so much better against the historic background of the main dining room and all the staff were absolutely lovely.
The bright neon light in the bar really kills the atmosphere and doesn't match the rest of the scenery. We took a walk down to the village pub for drinks.

It was wonderful to stay in a beautiful historic building with lovely gardens to explore. My room had everything I needed and I had a lovely view from my window. All the staff were pleasant and friendly, breakfast was superb and there was also a lovely terrace bar/cafe where you could buy sandwiches and hot food.

The building and grounds have great atmosphere. Breakfast in the great hall was....well....great.
Staff were all friendly and helpful and there are good local runs. The local park and rIde gives easy access to Cambridge
The shower was a tad feeble (but did the job) and the bar lacked the atmosphere of other parts if the building.- also there were rather arbitrary time restrictions on when different menu items were available.at the bar.

Location. Beautiful building, lovely grounds.
Breakfast. Very good.
Room. All that I wanted. Small room, single bed. Shower.
The shower could be fiercer. Was more of a light sprinkle than an actual shower.
The fire alarm going off at 1am was a bit of a downer and it took a long time to switch it off.
Shame the walled garden was closed for the winter.

Location was beautiful and the breakfast was outstanding
Very poor shower water pressure and uncomfortable metal bar inside mattress
