Staff were welcoming. Easy to find location and ideal for accessing Newmarket's High Street. The room was exactly as the photo and was comfortable and the bathroom was of a particularly high standard. I would stay here again happily.

The room is acceptable, good size, well planned.

The WiFi did not work, nor did anyone seem capable of fixing it or even knowing why it was not working. The heating system in this hotel is bizarre, it rarely works properly, the room was either suffocatingly hot or chilly, this has been the case for years with no attempts seemingly to address this.

The location was perfect for my needs. Parking on site was great hotel presented well ,was lean and tidy and staff were extremely friendly and polite. Room was clean and tidy and well proportioned.

only one small thing - it was a little chilly but I could not get the aircon unit to blow warm air out

The accommodation was very good, very clean and comfortable. One particular staff member was outstanding with her service, with the way she made all my family feel welcomed. Nothing seemed to much trouble for her, So thank you Sarah for looking after all of us at my mother’s wake. Breakfast was excellent. Will stay there again. Highly recommend.

Shower was mal functioning. We were slightly late checking out and someone at reception made it clear they were not happy. It felt uncomfortable. Breakfast was outrageously expensive. There wasn't individual prices for breakfast items - my husband just had fruit, yoghurt eggs and toast - £18.

Fried eggs cold and dry. Rest of fried food was luke warm to cold and much of it dried up, hard and crispy, tried cutting field bread and it just crumbled to pieces. Probably the worst fried breakfast I've ever had. Plenty of steam coming up from the hot water, but did little to cause any heating effect to the food

Room was pokey, far too small, no decent armchair to sit in. No natural fresh air and very little natural daylight. Door to bathroom should be hung on opposite wall, so when bathroom light is on it is not shining directly onto the bed. Recently stayed at Premier Inn - room was twice the size,plenty of daylight and fresh air,and breakfast cooked fresh.

The room is very small but still had all facilities in it. Other similar rooms are larger in floor area. Instant coffee could be better,

The location of the hotel was ideal for the town and the gallops if you are interested in horses.. The breakfast was excellent with several options available The bedrooms was adequate and the bed was comfortable.

The air conditioning in the room made it feel cold at times until you found out how to adjust it.

Late booking, due a vehicle breakdown and overnight recovery. I arrived late ( around 2130hrs ), and was warmly greeted by the young receptionist. I explained the situation, and that I knew I had missed the restaurants hours. She suggested that if I called for a takeaway ( JustEat etc ), she would let me know when they arrive etc.. and was very helpful on such a long and stressful day. Having slept well ( it was late by the time I got into bed obviously), I had a lovely hot shower, and made my way for breakfast. Greeted by the restaurant staff, I was seated and served a well presented/cooked full English breakfast (* the sausage was beautiful! So I suggest keeping that exact brand on the breakfast! - I'm a trucker, so I know my breakfasts! ). I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast, even the poached eggs were done to my liking! (* as you know, poached eggs are tricky to get absolutely right! ). I went back to my room for a short spell, before checking out and chatting briefly with the receptionist on that morning ( discussed where my taxi was picking up from etc ). All in all, a very pleasant "emergency " stay, with No issues and everything went smoothly, which is just what I needed after 18hrs (* I was soo tired). I have chosen Best Western before, for family breaks in Stratford-upon-Avon ( hotel now closed ), and also Tamworth area too. The standards have always been good, and although I could have found a considerably cheaper option for my stay locally, I decided to stick to what I knew would have been a good quality stay.

Obviously, because of the late booking, the price was quite steep compared to other locally based accommodation ( even Premier Inn & Travelodge were cheaper - but obviously breakfast was an add-on ). But I was happy enough to pay that price, considering the lateness, and of course I was expecting the same standards I have always had from a Best Western hotel.

Room needed some attention, squeaky wooden headboard, huge swivel chair which was too large to be in the room, boiler in bathroom made loud noise in the night.

Very close to Newmarket Race Course (£12 in a taxi) and also very close to high street for shops and restaurants etc. room we stayed in (July Suite) was superb. Breakfast was good (buffet style) but asked for fresh poached eggs and chef made lovely eggs for me.

Our initial room (room 6) was not very nice, smelt of cigarette smoke and looked tired. I politely asked reception (Molly) if we could look at upgrading our room and paying extra. I was very happy indeed in how Molly did her very best to sort the issue out, and after some Negotiations, and her speaking to a manager, managed to upgrade us to a suite at the price I’d been quoted online (as was still available) we were then moved to the July Suite which was so much better and a beautiful room, very spacious with a couch and large bathroom. I bought Molly a bottle of wine as a thank you for how she handled this so well. Molly couldn’t have been more polite, professional and very helpful, thank you.

Breakfast was excellent. Great value and enough choice

If I was to be critical of anything it was the corridor noise and this only due to a broken door mechanism that made the door slam when anyone went through it. Other than that I don’t have anything else to be critical about

Location great, room had everything we needed and was very spacious

I ordered an Archers and soda in the bar and it tasted 'off' It was the bottom of the bottle, so she went and got a new bottle. It tasted exactly the same. We were still charged £13 for it (as she suggested we made it a double) I took it back again and she said its a new bottle and suggested I may have covid! Very disappointed as I have drank Archers for many years and it definitely wasn't right.
