I'd be happy to stay here again

Good location for Florence, Lucca and Pisa. All available quickly and cheaply by train. Prato itself is also well worth exploring - lots to see. Two supermarkets close by. A bit of a walk from the station, but not too far (25-30 minutes) and pleasant enough.

One sharp knife (for cutting fruit and cheese and opening packets) would have been handy.

Clean, kitchen amenities, problem-free internet, helpful staff. A bit far from city centre.

Great, beautiful place. To be honest stayed in the room the entire time to recover from a 36+ hour journey. But even being confined to the room was top notch. The window overlooked a beautiful grassy courtyard with mountains to the left, and gorgeous terraced houses. All I had to do was open the windows and breathe in some fresh air and feel like "YES. I am in Italy". A kettle, tea, coffee are provided, as well as a mini-fridge, portable electric stove and rudimenary kitchen supplies. You can make your own breakfast easily here. Internet allowed for lag-free streaming. Very quiet. The woman who let me in, Christina, was lovely. She made sure I could open the front door and showed me how to use the moka (Italian coffee pot). She was very accomodating, patient, and could speak English.

If you're looking for somewhere more central, this is not the place. It's not ridiculously far from Prato city centre, but you would have to take a bus. On Sundays the bus to Prato Central only came once an hour. If you're fine with that, it's a gorgeous romantice getaway room. Supermarket is very close. Also, it's not THAT far from the city centre. You could walk it in 45 minutes. The room also didn't have a private balcony, which I thought it may have had. But it did have a courtyard at ground level.
